Thanks.

I wanted to pay it off by the time I was 40 and I did, it's just a shame it was at the expense of the car.

That's a fair achievement. Im nearly 40 and have just taken out a 25 year mortgage!! Only way to pay for the bloomin houses up here.

As for the car Im struggling to see who would have paid £17k for it. Not as an investment anyway as it wont gain anything on that, certainly not in the next 5-10years IMO and you wouldn't want to use it that regularly so it will probably sit locked away somewhere. Maybe VW bought it and will sell of there worse for wear one that's at the museum.

The interest rates are so poor at the banks its not worth keeping any money in them. If you're Wayne Rooney 17K is nothing.

I am 40 2 weeks on Friday & only managed to sell my flat to buy a house at end 2014 - even then it was only thanks to a very helpful nan & granddad & gf's mom!!

I know the seller, and I went for a look around the car the other day. :) He didn't give me the exact figure, but it sold for around the asking price. I don't doubt that for a second, because he doesn't tend to knock much off any of his stock.

It is without a doubt the nicest Corrado I've ever seen, to all intents and purposes it looks like a brand new car, even the underside was probably better than new! He showed me that one of the owners had made a log book of all the journeys the car went on...

It may seem like a lot of money for a Corrado, and I thought that too, but it was quite literally a time capsule. I'm sure the new owner will very much enjoy his new car. :)

Noticed it on eBay this morning.

Lovely car for lovely money.

I came away from mk1 Golfs as their prices got silly and as a Saturday car they just got out of reach for the average person.

I came to Corrados as they are fantastic value but are they starting to go the same way ?

Crikey!! It's been an interesting few weeks for corrado prices. The bottom end of the market also seems to be rising with some rough cars up at 3k

I was just looking at this one on Pistonheads, would appear everyone is jumping on the band wagon, pretty much since the Wheeler Dealer car sold for a decent price, the asking prices have been rising quite rapidly

Looks tidy that one. Bet they paid a lot less then 10k for it.

companies like fast classics, KGF and the like are doing a great job of scooping up all the low mileage cars and asking crazy money for them. I guess as long as someone is willing to pay the money, they'll keep at it.

KGF currently have a series 1 escort rs turbo for over 30k! Who pays that kind of money for an escort?

It is that one. The one on Fast Classics has Koni dampers (yellow) and stainless steel exhaust.

Well remembered.
