well you get what you pay for I guess, bouncy susp sucks!

Just doing the usual Friday lunchtime web gawk, and came across these... http://www.racelanduk.com/Shop/Details.asp?Id=RAC813302 Obviously the price is pretty good, but has anyone had any experience with these? Also, when I do the shocks I might as well do the other bits and pieces like top mounts etc... Would the VR6 mounts work with these? Also, is there anything else worth doing whilst I've got the shocks out? Thanks in advance y'all randal

http://www.volksapart.co.uk might be able to help ya...

hey blair, money on that being bighands... Ooo, another local!

When I've done a fluid change, I've left the cap off the breather tank and topped it up accordindly whilst engine was running. (Wild man huh?) The hoses will cost you an arm and a leg from the stealer - try GSF. The oil cooler/water flange hose was 48 quid + vat from VW, 5.50 from GSF... nuff said HTH randal

Too true, it was the first C I'd driven too - so rather difficult to suss. It picks up rather nicely, and yeah, it's got a bit of poke. Needs more though! After talking with Mr JMR, seems like I'm looking at a nice little power hike from the head work/exhaust - will have to see what it's putting out at Austech on the 19th.
-
If you search GSF for "INDIC.SIDE" you should get some results. Although, I've only been able to find the oval ones...
-
Good point. However, even if I did want to rush it - Mr Bank Balance would have other ideas... It's not like my lottery winning daydreams of buying a C, then sinking 10K into it off the mark... Mmmmm 2.9 supercharged wonder.... *drool*

It's gotta happen, the thing looks like a 4x4 - especially when it's parked on a slope. :? Ah well, it's on the list of things to do. Thanks for the comments randal

Post on last page: http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... 112#636112 Just a few pics of the wagon, before I start getting creative :) The guy who had the car before me dropped shrick cams, and a k&n filter in there, which was a bonus. All I've done so far are a few cosmetic/funcitonal things so far - lupo wipers, passat handles etc.. Waiting on a head rebuild, flowing and porting from JMR. Also a Miltek S/S system is going on there at the same time. Future plans include new shocks with a 40mm drop, a trip to the coachworks to sort out the minor body work niggles, and I'm tempted to do something with the wheels too. See how they look after the drop. Anyways, cheers for looking. randal

Hey snap! Just waiting on a quote from JMR then I'm doing the same, 170bhp eh? Nice! Just a pain there's not much chance to use it on the M25! Poxy "road". Adios

Dragon green H plate something on the M25 just near the M40 junction this morning about 9.30. Got a smile and a wave outta ya!

Think the clutch itself is OK, but mounts eh? Hmmm..... Wait a minute Kev, this isn't leading up to a sales speech is it?? :lol   OK, have to bang them on the list for when it floats down to JMR... Yay. Cheers for the tips all. Ta randal

Ah pants, don't fancy dropping the gearbox out. How much of a job is removing the slave cyl? I guess the system needs a good bleeding obviously, but after that is it just a case of unblot/bolt ? Cheers randal
-
I've been noticing a juddering when pulling away in 1st recently, there's enough throttle but it still does it. Is this the beginnings of a knackered slave cyl? I checked the top the gearbox, and there isn't any fluid or anything. Any suggestions y'all? Thanks in advance randal

Taken from a post further down the page I think that sums it up nicely, what a plonker.

I *think* it's coming from the smaller pipe on one of these --> I thought I'd split the hose when I had to change the other oil cooler hose on tuesday, but it seemed to keep pressure OK. Grr, I hate being wrong. Will have to look in to it tomorrow, cos I'm far too drunk now - and dinners on the table. Hehehehe, I have to act sober for my last meal in this house... HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!

Sensor is fine, but the bloody coolant level was through the floor AGAIN. Looks like I'm going to need to leak test it once more, sodding thing. Cheers for the pointers all. all the best randal

My kinda fix! I'm going to go over the contacts and stuff today make sure they are all cool. Failing that, I'll swap it out and see how it goes. Cheers Kev. randal

Sorry should have said in the last post, Henny has changed the lights - but I don't think the ones on his wagon are blue. I think they are like amber or something. If you do a search there are loads of pics of blue/red clocks/gauges kicking around. sorry bout that randal
-
Henny truly is your man on this one. He's basically done the entire dashboard, with some awesome results. I think the clocks are simple enough, just a case of removing the ol' green ones and soldering the new blues in. The switches were more of a pain, but the end result used a sweet wrapper to get the colour - get yer Quality Street out! As for sourcing the LED's I know of one or two places, but try http://www.kustompcs.co.uk for starters. Failing that RM components http://www.rswww.com should be able to help you. HTH randal

On the drive home last night on the M25, I noticed the temp light was flashing. Both the gauge and the MFA were reading pretty normal temps - gauge was about 100 and MFA around 96 (this was after about 20 minutes driving btw). If I kill the ignition, then kick it back over the light goes out, but when I start driving again it comes on without any sign of stopping. I'm guessing this is a knackered sensor or something. If it helps, I had to replace the oil cooler/water jacket hose on tuesday (which sorted out the water leak I'd been having for some time nicely!) Any ideas anyone? Thanks randal

Hear Hear! Couldn't agree more. I'm sure I'm gonna get shot down for this one, but I can't stand tat's on lasses. ESPECIALLY on the small of the back. Says to me that the bird has an infactuation with getting it from behind and that the view ain't all that so it's got to be spiced up. Then again I could be wrong... meh. :D

ah potato, potatoe - tomato tomatoe :D Either way it sucks!
