490 fully comp with 4 years NCB - that was with adrian flux. Gonna shift over to Tesco in May, 5 years protected NCB - 430 I'm 23, and in a GU postcode. I keep hearing that a lotta people are having major results with elephant, can't see why though. Initial web quote with them was 600, rising to 860 at the end of the web form! ta randal

Thats a very tidy mod! I like! Got a few questions... 1) Is there a major noise increase after this? 2) What are the gains? Performance etc..? 3) What bits and pieces did you use? Thanks in advance randal

Is there a more effective way of flushing out the GB? Short of taking the bugger off, turning it upside down and shaking it for Britian... I guessed it would be a more or less impossible to empty it totally in situ, but there must be a method of getting a better empty. I'm having silly ideas involving compressors, huge ammounts of WD40 and a big grin.  Just seems silly to drop 35 quids worth of MT90, and 15 quids worth of Slick 50 into a filthy case. Yay for the engineering bods at VW! Cheers randal

I'll agree on that - the dude @ Delta is a very nice man. He's a very very very nice man... Hello MT90 :)

Cool, once again Henny - the font of knowledge... :) ta randal

I'd love to know how the headlinings in cars get so freakin filthy. It looks like someone has run a lighter all over the lining in some cars. I think I'm gonna need some more clingfilm. :)

oh and gearbox mount too... :)

Hello, I want to change my engine mounts this weekend, and was wondering what is involved? I'm guess the usual jack the engine etc.. Is there anything I should watch out for, or any caveats? Plus, can anyone recommend a good set of mounts and where from? tia randal

hehehe. I like. Will be doing that, and cocooning my passengers in shrink wrap too! I'll add it to the "to do" list along with engine mounts, gearbox oil change, exhaust... ...I love mondays, spend the whole day planning the weekend! (funnily enough, always car related these days!) Cheers for the responses guys. randal

Sounds good, I'll take a look during the week. Cheers randal

Having a look around the car, it's clean.. ...but it's not CLEAN. If you get my meaning. So anyway, options are - get a professional valet service in to spank it up. Or find a decent car shampoo alternative. Has anyone had good results with an off-the-shelf product? ta randal

from what i've heard, emissons are a killer. But my 1990 16v sailed through last month no probs. Whats the milage on yours? Any work done?

Does it disappear after it warms up? Plus, what does it smell like? Sometimes it can be oil burning. Oil seeps into the cylinders overnight through dodgy seals... ...start in the morning and burn ahoy. Valve seals etc... could need replacing. I've looked into it a bit myself, cos I have a similar problem - still waiting to find a decent quote!

I think it's time we start a "We love Corrado-Forum.net" campaign. Phil K had the plan of sticking lil' cards under wipers at every opportunity. Think I might have to kick that one off, cos I keep seeing loads - pretty mixed on the responses though. Other day some old geezer gave me a thumbs up and a nod (enthusiast or lonely?) Saying that, might as well have got the two fingers today - DAMN that was a scowl... meh.

Henny - spot on, filled the water up a squirt before I started the car over this evening - et voila, no flashing light. That or the car just likes running on Evian... 8) Cheers again Randal

check out http://www.letsbuycaraudio.com always got bargains on there. ta randal

Yep, it's lunchtime - I'm bored, so it's drop a post *refresh*refresh*refresh :D Makes sense on the reasoning though. I'm 99% sure the water level was OK, but it's odd on those tanks the min/max marks are like 4mm apart. Talk about picky! Cheers again

Oh really? Bliiiiimey, thats my kinda fix! I'll check it out tonight. Thanks Henny :D

Hello, Bit of a funny one this. Started car up last night, had been sitting for about 10-11 hours or so, turned over fine, no problems. However, the temp light flashed constantly all the way home. I waited for the engine to warm up to about 80, still didn't cut off. The MFA red 10 degress outside temp, so nothing funky there either. The really weird thing is, after turning the engine off, and back on again - it stopped. Has anyone seen this before, or got an idea as to what it might be? I'm hoping it's just an electrical gremlin, and not something more severe. Thanks in advance randal

Is that turtle wax?

For sheer convenience, I'm thinking of getting the centre section of my exhaust replaced at a retailer. Not too fussed about performance parts at the moment, just stopping it sounding like a sherman. Can anyone recommend a good place? Along the lines of Quik Fit, Humphries etc... basically the cheaper/faster the better. (bad rule of thumb with cars, but i've already spent 500 quid in 6 weeks!) Oh yeah, in the Surrey area would be a bonus. Cheers in advance randal

stevemac and Phil K - bloody thing worked it's way loose, she's in there  Second screw up today... ...freakin Monday. Hell yes, if you can do us a pin out - I'm on for that. Nice one. From what I can see on the website and the download, it probably just needs a keygen. Must be one kicking around somewhere, failing that I might know somebody who "likes copy protection". Cheers all randal DISCLAIMER - I am in no way affilated with any warez crew, hacking group, software pirate or dodgy dealer. However, I don't mind using their releases.
