    New Storm

Yes! Please start a Porsche thread. We're all too poor to own one but we can look on in awe :) Congrats on the sale. Although I think you have mixed feelings. Don't worry, she's gone to a good home and is staying in the "fold" I hope. Is the buyer already a member of the Forum? (I wonder how long before you're looking at For Sale Ads lusting after another Rado :) )

    New Storm

Any time I think of selling or worry about how much I've spent on mine. I just take it for a drive and within minutes I'm smiling. If you don't need to sell, keep it. A piece of motoring history.
  4. Stealth have been great. The issue was with my car from when I bought it 3 years ago and I thought it was fixed after I paid a company here in Germany to rebuild the engine. Alas they didn't do all they should have and I'm now taking legal advice. Vince is second to none with these cars and I'm more than happy with the service he has provided. So don't worry. Your baby is in good hands :)
  5. Stealth have the replacement engine now. And we start again. It'll be worth it in the end. :)
  6. I bought two as it was my intention to have one repainted in Mystic Blue to match mine. Unfortunately my 1:1 scale Corrado has become more of a project now and this is on the backburner. :)
  7. Exactly! These models are always limited production runs. Keep an eye on the "Modelbau" section of Ebay.de. I have quite a collection built up from there now. Including 2 Revell model kits. One being a Corrado convertible!
  8. I think their models are great. I especially love the interior detail. At the moment I have a Corrado G60, Mk1 Campaign, Rallye Golf and a Mk4 R32 sitting beside me here. As well as a Norev Scrirocco and Mk2 Golf G60. The Norev models are a bit more "fun" as the doors and engine bay open. Better for tuning too. I found Otto were pretty ****e at responding to e-mails too. I think this is just typical French customer service, exacerbated by the language barrier. I wish they would make a VR6 model. But their response was that Revell already make 'em. Of course I have 2 of those already :) Nutter.

    Wrapping

I thought that. Wrapping does lend itself to curvy new cars with less sticky out bits. Worth asking the question though. Cheers guys!

    Wrapping

My Rado could do with a respray and I'm wondering would a wrap be a better choice? Surely it would save on the hassle of taking out windows etc? Is it possible to have a wrap in Mystic Blue or indeed any colour you like?

    New Storm

I'll second that. As someone that also owns a Mystic Storm that stands me around £15k. I don't expect to get even a fraction of that back if/when I sell the car. But I never plan on selling. I have a sensible diesel 4x4 as a family daily and the Corrado is my hobby. I love these cars, I've owned 4 of them over the past 12 years and I can't see myself ever being without one. A Storm was just a logical progression for me having owned a 1.8 16v, then a G60, then a regular VR. A Mystic Blue with all the options was for me the ultimate Corrado and now I own one I'm taking it a step further through engine mods so it can keep up with modern performance cars. IMO £3500 isn't too much for a good example. Given today's financial climate, insurance prices and the ever rising price of fuel I don't see their value increasing in the next few years. There's a buyer out there for every car. Post your Ad on all the enthusiasts forums and wait for a bite.
  13. Takes them ages to reply to e-mail. They're French and it shows. ;)
  14. Mine arrived today as well. No point posting pics, it's the same. Perfect detail although the wheels aren't authentic G60 (early 1.8 16v). Pity the bonnet, doors, boot don't open too. Still, it's a nice addition to my collection. I e-mailed Otto and they have no plans to make a VR6 version :(
  15. Superb. Thanks a lot!
  16. winchbeitch please post some photos and a wee "How To" as I need to remove the seat base on one of mine to repair the heating element. Thanks.
  17. Available today!! Get them while you can. £54 directly from Otto. But only 2000 available and they're going quick! http://shopping.otto-models.com/catalog/VOLKSWAGEN-9-1.html

    New Storm

Beautiful 911. Turbo? And Beautiful unmarked Storm. I forget how well these cars looked straight off the forecourt. £3500 isn't a bad price. You didn't mention the mileage on the Ad. And you should list the spec a little more for those not familiar with the Storm model. Don't forget to say "one of only 250 made" :) Good luck with the sale.
  19. Yeah that was the one. As it happens I also posted on the VR6oc forum looking for a spare engine. A chap on there Daverse has two sitting. We never discussed price but Vince says VR6 engines aren't worth much. Unless of course you need one urgently.
  20. Thanks StueyB that most likely was my lovely Storm you saw. It's been away so long now I've almost forgotten what it looks like. It'll all be worth it in the end though. When I'm flying down the Autobahn with the VR roar and Supercharger whoosh as a soundtrack. :) As luck would have it. I managed to pickup a complete 2.9 VR6 engine, also from a Storm with 83k miles and a blown headgasket for £83 on eBay. Just organising a courier to get it to Stealth now. Vince reckons a 2.9 is fine for boring out and fitting the Wossner pistons again.
  21. Could also be a possibility. Or an R32 :) But they're a bit pricey. What's the engine code on a 4 Motion lump?
  22. Cheers Jim. Hopefully it will all turn out alright. In the end I should have a Supercharged Storm with basically a new engine and good for many years of motoring. Needless to say, I'll not be selling this car unless I want to take a major bath on it.
  23. New oil pump and new forged Wossner conrods were fitted by Vince. The crankshaft came from ebay.de and was described as "inspected & quality checked" whatever that means. But Vince said it was fine. I spoke with Vince this morning. He's saying the same thing. Oil starvation likely caused by a blocked oil gallery. Rather than screw around trying to find that, I think it's best we source a replacement engine. So if anyone knows of a 2.9 ABV engine for sale let me know by pm.
  24. Hi David. Thanks for the reply. It's Stealth who are doing the work and Vince is baffled as to what's causing the failures. The oil pump and water pumps were changed recently.
  25. Nightmare situation. My car (Corrado 2.9 ABV) is currently with a specialist having cams and a Vortech SC fitted. Today for the second time whilst being run on the Dyno it has damaged the big end bearing. Same cylinder as last time. After the first failure they removed the engine from the car. Fitted a new crankshaft (2nd hand reconditioned) and fitted new bearings. This is getting too costly now and I really can't have the same thing happen again. Any ideas or pointers on what could be causing these failures? Should I source another engine? This one has already been bored out and had Wossner pistons fitted.
