  1. How about this one? http://www.dcperformance.co.uk/cheap/78119/autometer-z-series-gauges/by2616.htm From looking at other sites, Autometer gauges come with tubing, t-piece and red/green bulb covers.
  2. I'm definitely after an Analogue gauge. More in keeping with the car's age. The install is being done by Stealth, so Vince will know what to do. Also the reason I want to buy an off the shelf gauge pod as he won't have time to make one up. I'll just get the kit delivered directly to their place. And yup, the car is an N reg Storm. One of the last VRs.
  3. Both your DIY fittings look good guys. Do the gauges always come with vacuum pipes?
  4. With the imminent fitting of my Vortech Charger I'm looking recommendations for a PSI Boost Gauge and Pod. I already have the OEM Voltage and Oil Pressure pod in the cubby hole and I don't want to mess with the centre console. I found this SWG Vent Pod do they fit ok? I've read mixed opinions on their Early-style vent pods. The boost gauge should be 52mm, in PSI and match the original gauge cluster if possible. Do gauges normally come with a sender?
  5. Cheers Craig. £141 to fit a fuel pump. Bit pricey :)
  6. Thanks Neo3670. Yes the Forum has come through once again. The new pump should arrive today and I'll drop it in over the weekend. Good advice there on the relay too.
  7. Another option is to replace the door handles with the lockless rear ones from a similar vintage "B3" Passat. Like this clicky I think you need to replace the striker arms too. Kit here clicky A search of the Forum will turn up more info.
  8. Jeez! I agree on using genuine parts though. Especially when the original has lasted 97k miles and 17 years. Guess I'll just have to bite the bullet.
  9. That would be great. From looking on UK sites €60 seems about right for a genuine pump. But just want to be sure. With my limited German it's difficult to order parts over the counter.
  10. Thanks for the excellent info there mattwelcer. My VIN has an S prefix so '95 and VDO. Can you remember how much your pump cost? This is the one I was going to order from ebay.. click How's your German? Google translate doesn't give a clear idea of what this means... "Bei Pierburg-System muss der Tankgeber auf VDO umgebaut werden"
  11. Nice one mate. If you could post a picture of it too that would be great. I think the pump I'm after is this one http://www.meat-doria.com/en/product_meat/76410/3932 . But you see from the huge list of part numbers that it's easy to get confused. This one is a Pierburg. The ones listed on German E-Bay make a point of stating "for VDO system only" I guess the only way to be sure is to remove mine but I don't want to risk knackering it in the process. It is working although a little noisey. ---------- Post added at 10:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 9:58 AM ---------- http://www.ebay.de/itm/Benzinpumpe-Kraftstoffpumpe-VW-Corrado-2-9-VR6-4-0bar-/150481855830?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item23096ae556 This is the one I was going to order. Not the cheapest, about middle of the price-range on E-Bay at €61 inc post. Part No. 1H0 919 651 Q
  12. Nice one. PM me your phone number and I'll give you a tickle nearer the time.
  13. Might seem a daft question. But I'm looking at German E-Bay, since I live in Germany. And a lot of the Ads say "Only for VDO System". Hence I need confirmation of the correct part no. for a UK VR6. Another part no. I found is 535919051A Which looks more like a Corrado specific part number.
  14. My fuel pump is buzzing. So it's on its way out. Is this the correct part number? - 1H0919651Q Do VR's have 2 pumps, one in-tank and another under the car, like my old 16v?
  15. I'm interested too. Can you do a quick treatment on a Saturday or Sunday when I'm on the way from Bristol to Folkestone?
  16. Dude VR6 that is good news! The cams I mean. Obviously not the clutch, sorry to hear about that. Get a Helix one fitted, much harder wearing. Will I go ahead and tell Vince to use your set for me?
  17. On the Bay. Right & Left
  18. That's fair enough, these things happen and I was one of the last to pay. Would any of you guys like to help me out? I've arranged to drive my car over to Stealth from Germany at the end of July. My Eurotunnel and flight back (leaving the car at Stealth for a few weeks) are booked. So I really need the cams available for then :(

    ABS Issues

Most likely a sensor. But you'll need VAGCOM to confirm. I had the ABS system completely removed on mine due to a fault no one could track down. Luckily my mate is a mechanic and did it as a favour. Otherwise it would have cost hundreds in labour. Sensors.... Ebay - http://tinyurl.com/brcppll Eurocarparts - http://tinyurl.com/cvfbqno

    New Storm

Really surprised this hasn't sold yet. I guess your location doesn't help. Never been a problem for me to travel but some folk think a 50 mile round trip is too far, deepest darkest Aberdeenshire! The current economic climate doesn't help either. Have you advertised it locally? There seems to be a large Corrado following in your part of the World. Stick a notice in the car window and advertise in the local rag, local car forums both VW and other. I'll second what Portent has said about the ABS. It will put buyers off or they will seriously knock you down in price. A quick go on VAGCOM will likely reveal its a sensor. Plenty of info on those on here. Sometimes just cleaning the sensors clears the fault. The Corrado ABS system is a nightmare. I had to have the entire system removed on my last VR6 due to electrical gremlins. Personally, I would just keep it as a weekend hobby. But I have some kind of mental problem when it comes to these cars :)
  21. Add me to the PAID list. Just called Vince. He's extending the cut-off to Monday if anyone else wants to join. I think we're one person away from the next price bracket now! Anyone want to be a GB Hero? ;)
  22. I'm still in. But I'm getting a bunch of other work done at the same time. So need to give Vince a call. Regardless I'll pay the £100 this week.
  23. Never be ashamed of the mighty Natch! Cupholder looks good. :)
  24. It had been getting gradually noisier over the past few weeks. Then today I noticed the burning smell and the tensioner was hot to touch. So car is laid up now until I can get a new one on.
