1. Nice to hear from you Anto. Don't be a stranger on the Forum. We have a wealth of info on here about these armco-proof cars :) Keep us updated on your racing progress. I don't know of anyone else racing a Corrado. Although I saw a nice Scirocco GT was at the same event. From the noise I thought she was a VR6 Turbo. It was only when I saw the pics I realised she was blower-driven. Great sound. Health to Drive!
2. What's needed to fit these? Other than the 2 bolts you've already mentioned. Do the flexi-hoses have to be changed?
3. I was surprised too. I don't ever want to have the same happen to my baby. But glad the old Rado's fair ok in high speed accidents. Nothing a bit of pulling and beating can't sort out :)
4. I've done a few Trackdays and I've taken my Corrado around the Nurburgring about 20 times. But as you say, very different to Touring Cars. Anto seems to be pretty experienced now. I think this is his 2nd or 3rd season. So I'm sure there's method in his perceived madness. :)
5. Build thread started on octane.ie :) http://www.octane.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=59568
6. Totally agree on his driving. I was cringing when he went sideways around the hairpin! Especially in a Corrado, it takes a lot to lose the back end. Nice to see a Rado on the track though. There is an original Scirocco GT racing in the same series too.
7. Youtube video here... http://tinyurl.com/d927thd The action happens around 8 minutes but worth watching from the start just to hear the engine note :) Poor car. Driver is a friend of a friend. He was unhurt but rather peeved. Not the first time the car's had a spill. Some before, during and after photos attached. She's straightening up quickly and will ride again! :D
8. Can't you rent a garage to hide the GTR away? You'll take a hit selling it now. As for a Golf. The R32 is the only Mk4 to go for. Fantastic car and in the future will be THE collectible Mk4. Galvanised body, 4 wheel drive and the lovely 24v 3.2 VR6 Engine. You could also look for a Mk4 Anniversary TDI. IMO they are overpriced but they seem to hold their value. Bear in mind that these newer TDI PD engines are pretty much scrap at 130k miles. Injectors go - £1500, Tandem Pumps go - £500, whole bunch of other parts go that basically make the car uneconomical to repair. I just gave away my super spec Mk4 TDI 130 for stupid money as it has hit the magic 130k. A VR6 will go on forever if you take care of it. Or, buy a £500 Ford Fiesta for taking to work and hook up one of these systems http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDrzMGdYWZc :D Feckin barstewards. I'd drop a few quid to the local hoods to watch my car for a day or two and "take care of it." Cops are useless.
9. Hi Mike. Just stumbled upon this Thread. Very interesting Sir! :afro: Have you done anything else to her since you last update? Would be nice to see some recent pics and maybe a few of the rest of your stable too. Health to Drive! :D

Boot lock woes

They're 0.17 each. So I ordered 4 to make the postage worthwhile. :) Thanks very much
11. My issue was someone had changed either the boot lock or the doors/ignition locks and not given me the key for the boot. Easy fixed. £20 for a secondhand lock and key on here. And 15 minutes to swap over.
12. Normally they're a Nimh rechargable pack. No idea where they would be in the car. There's a thread here http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?15438-Recommended-Alarm-fitters&highlight=mobile+fitter on recommended fitters.
13. Yup that'll do it. The Clifford should have a battery backup. But that can't run forever either.
14. Similar thing happened to my Toad i606 when my battery went flat. You'll need to program the Alarm's locking pulse again. Best get a Clifford expert to look at it. 10 minute job.
15. There were rumours that the UK may abandon DAB in favour of or go with a hybrid system in conjunction with Sirius. The Satellite radio provider in the USA. They have sold 9 million radios in the States and coverage is much better than DAB. Don't know what's happened to that plan though. Google doesn't show any recent news. I have an Internet Radio at home which is fantastic. 10,000+ stations from around the world. Don't think we're quite there with car-based internet yet though. Here in Cologne we are rolling out 100Mb 4G Internet at the moment. I got a USB dongle on approval from Deutsche Telecom (for work) and it was showing 75Mb Download and 10Mb Upload on speedtest.net
16. There are two arms attached to the lock. These work the actual lock mechanism and the central locking functionality. Check neither of them are detached from the lock.

Boot lock woes

My boot wasn't locking at all either. None of my keys fitted the lock and it was in the horizontal position which makes it lock independently of the central locking. Got a spare lock and key from Rodmax on here. But when I was fitting it this evening, the white insert for the bottom most pushrod disintegrated. They're made from really crappy brittle plastic. Do you think it's possible to get these separately from VW?
18. Fair play to the guy, he making 20% profit on that. Not exactly taking the ****. I bought one of the last ones from VW UK stock years ago. I think it was around £80 at the time. The ARZ Tuning are completely the same as the original. In fact they are the original. ARZ contacted the VW supplier and ordered a new batch made. I think there must be quite a mark-up on them!
19. The E-Bay needle guy said this when I asked him about Corrado fitment... I think we'll leave it at that! £30 wasted if you order from him.
20. Apologies. Just read the original description. Green Illumination, Corrado logo on the speedo and "Storm" logo on the Rev Counter is good for me. Here is an example of the logo.
21. Looking for updates on this too. It would make my car full-spec with all the options. I found the stalk for sale here in Germany. Part # 1H0953513D €71.50 exc p&p. http://www.online-teile.com/vw/advanced_search_result.php?XTCsid=9420b0904a46995713471bdb965dab30&keywords=1H0953513D&x=18&y=6
22. I'm interested in a set of Green backlit gauges for a UK spec 1995 Corrado VR6. With "Storm" logo script on the speedo and "Corrado" on the Rev Counter, similar to your picture on page #1. Red Needles too, but I'll contact the guy directly. The Gauge kit comes with idiot proof instructions I hope :)
23. Good excuse to do the loom too. My headlights are amazing since I fitted mine.
24. Swap you for B16 VWC :) ---------- Post added at 04:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:25 PM ---------- Oh not yours. Nevermind.
25. A Passat one. If you do a search you'll find them discussed at length. Along with centre sun visors :)
