ABS Pedal distance sensor now obsolete... Grrrrrrr
MikeVR6 replied to Vince@Stealth's topic in Suppliers Forum
A Volvo one looks pretty similar. I found this thread on DIY repair here. (use Google translate) http://www.volvoklub.sk/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=17&start=10 -
A few more recent shots. My dirty diesel daily Mk4 TDi is in a few too.

That is well impressive. Fantastic looking car! I'm jealous and I have a Mystic Storm with all the toys :)

I'll check the rears for adjustment. Maybe that will do the trick. I had a look through the receipts that came with the car. This is the Koni kit http://www.venommotorsport.com/product_details.php?id=19513&manufacturer=Koni&category=Suspension SSK27 and not cheap. But I see the drop is 30 - 35mm all round. Which is really too low for the roads around town. I found an Eibach kit on E-Bay. 25mm drop on the back and 25-30mm on the front. Sounds much better. The same Eibachs for all models of Corrado?
-
Thanks for the advice Abdul. I'll have a look for a set of eibachs.

I'm running 205/45 R16 Yokohama A520s. The suspension was fitted by a previous owner who was also on the forum Rick. He spent a lot of money on the car so it's hard to believe he would have used cheap springs. I'll have a look and see what's fitted. The ride is really firm and speed ramps/pot holes are a PITA. Hopefully changing the springs will do the trick. Any recommendations for springs? I see opinion is split on the H&Rs.
-
My VR is running Koni top adjustable shocks and I'm unsure what springs, fitted by previous owner. Anytime there's weight in the back the wheels buff against the rear arches when I hit a bump. The ride is also very harsh even with the adjusters set on their softest setting. Ideally I'd like to raise the car by 10mm or so. Would you guys recommend replacing the springs and shocks or can I just fit a set of better springs to achieve this?

I fitted an Alpine X311 to mine a few months back. Very happy with it. I ran the IPod and USB connections into the little shelf under the steering column. Don't miss CDs at all, could always add a multichanger if I did. It was one of the few headunits I could find with Green illumination to match the rest of the dash.

http://www.wagenstad.com/index.php?modid=112&page=9-211-20 That's the PCB for the clocks. There are quite a few different part no's. What model and year have you? Probably better reposting asking for an "instrument cluster" in the title.

Thank you Sir.

I had a new compressor fitted a few weeks ago. The original was made by Sanden, Model U 7822. The aircon specialist had no problem finding a replacement although he did have to modify the mountings for it to fit correctly.
-
Can we tidy the thread up a bit and post part no's and prices for both the Lupo and TT setups on the front page?
-
Oops! Didn't see your post Craig. £700 for wheels with Yokohama A520 tyres delivered to Germany. www.bmautosport.co.uk

Mine has the "factory" buttons above the fag lighter with the Davia aftermarket kit. I took the car to a local specialist here in Germany to have the system completely renewed. Needed a new compressor as the old one was split and leaking. That was £250 or so plus it had to be modified to fit the mountings correctly, a few pipes where looking a bit rough so they were replaced. Since the front end was off I got the guy to replace the A/C Radiator and the dryer too. And he relocated my Mocal as it was getting shiit air flow. £1200 all in. Quite a bit of that was labour. A lotta money. But it's paid for itself in two weeks of driving in ice-cold comfort. No longer a greenhouse like before.
-
Hi Tim. If you have it complete with the stickers, screws and any little clips on top for the bonnet stay? Maybe not £10 though as it has to be posted to Germany. Probably £15.
-
Cheers Rod. Just drop me a 'PM with the details. Paypal ok?
-
Hi Rod - I'll take those bits from you. Chuck in the bonnet stay too? Just let me how much the postage is. Shaun - thanks for getting back to me. But Rod has the bits ready to go by the sounds of it.
-
Thanks for the info on the stickers and numberplate plinth. Let me know Rodmax. I'd really like to get these bits sorted.
-
To make my car complete. I need a few small bits. - Rear number plate plinth - Rear number plate light trim - Bonnet stay complete and uncorroded - Radiator/Fan plastic cowling with "Achtung Heisse!" sticker - RHS Instrument Cluster screw cover

Wow! those are very nice! Don't suppose you fancy making me a set in black? :)

front speakers and electric mirrors not working
MikeVR6 replied to corrado_sunderland's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
I assume this is fixed now :) But the same thing happened to me last week. If you remove the lower dash/fusebox covers and look up behind where the headlight switch is. You'll find a ring of connectors and a loom coming from the door. One of the spade connectors from the door loom had worked its way loose on mine. Stopping all the door electrics working. -
Yes, although with the sunblind closed it's a bit quieter. I fitted a new outer seal and that reduced the noise a bit. It's still noisier than the original roof though. Just turn the stereo up :) ---------- Post added at 07:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:22 PM ---------- What year Passat Estate? There's good info on Moonroof fitting here... http://forums.motivemag.com/showthread.php?3808393

I'm getting very hot oil temps on long runs on the motorway. 128 degrees @ 80mph for say 20 miles or so. I was thinking this was due to lack of airflow to my Mocal cooler. Could this sensor also cause that?
-
Super thanks! What symptoms would I see if it were bust?
