1. Whens the Corrado national regatta?
2. Keelovers give a choppy ride. Personally I'd upgrade the brakes and fit bigger anchors.
3. The cost of a galvanizing the chassis was enough to zinc a ship.
4. My 8j Schmidts came with 185 on two and 165 on two - posted some picture of them on here but can't find the thread. The 185 looked quite stretched but the 165 were ridiculous and were fitted to the inner bead. Needless to say they were all changed. Now running 195 and 205 (replacements for front 195) both of which have a slight stretch.
5. Had similar symptoms in my old MGB and it turned out to be a faulty dizzy cap/rotor arm. Worth a swap if you have a spare (I always carry spares now).
6. They could have operated and called you Sandra.

8. When I bought mine it was on coilovers wound so low it scraped everywhere. I lifted it about an 1" and whilst it's still low, it improved both the scraping and the ride quality. The coilovers fitted are a bit harsh for my liking and am hoping to soon swap for some with a better ride quality, but I won't be going back to standard springs etc. Suspension will always a compromise comfort/ride/handling and definitely cost (you get what you pay for). VW's standard setup will have been a finely balanced the compromise to meet the masses but as cost effective as possible. I personally prefer to compromise on the comfort/ride part rather than the handling as my car is for me, not the masses. Re your decision, don't try and make a track day weapon if you want standard springs/shocks, it won't cut the mustard.
9. Nope, just a pre August 92 car - beyond this and you need to fit the cat for the test. My MOT tester is a friend but he won't do a white stick test. When tested it failed on the emissions first time round, but they use age related values and it passed.
10. don't know about the cat as mine has a decat fitted so this wasn't changed. Look up the part number for Jetex decat pipes as it may be the same for both models. Above posts suggests VR6 is longer.
11. Holy thread resurrect batman.....I have a 2.0 valver and the jetex exhaust I purchased would fit a VR6 also allegedly
12. Who knows, that might be next on the cards. :)
13. Great work for upsetting the purists (enjoyed doing this in my MGB) I know what 1 JL kicks like and think your in for a kidney massage.

Corrado mod sunroof

I have a Passat B4 moon roof fitted and it fits great. I understand the Golf roof has the wrong curvature but you can fit your original panel to it.
15. If yours is early then you'll have a 12 gallon tank, mine has a 15 gallon tank.
16. I run a 2.0 16v as a daily. Its got a few sensible engine mods and I drive in a fairly spirited manner and still get an average of 30MPG. Normally brim it when empty and a tank fill is between £65-£75 (depending on petrol price/how empty) and I usually get about 400 miles from this. As for being expensive to run, that can depend on what (not if) goes wrong, after all its a classic car. I look upon the average £1000 a year depreciation on a newer car as funds for keeping the old girl on the road, but it's never cost me that.
17. BlackBerry vr6 heading up to Bingley Moors by Dick Hudson's pub.....I was the loon waving on the motorbike.
18. I see the diet's taking a pounding again.
19. Swapped my original aerial with built in amp that was foobarred for a Hertz replacement with built in amp. I went from Radio 1/2 only to hearing things transmitted from the moon.
