I bought some clocks for the valver from ebay to see if this would cure my spoiler issue. Although the seller suggested they were from a 2.0 valver, when delivered I notice they are different to what I have fitted and seem to have the oil warning buzzer in the bottom left hand corner. Before I swap them over and blow sommat up, I wanted to know if all clocks are interchangeable in the raddo. A definitive list of part that fit would be good if anyone has a link. Also to keep my mileage correct, can the speedo part be unplugged from one and fitted in another?

I bought a new one (none bosch) from ebay as a spare and it has remained a spare since. It's missing the cap/arm now but the body is available. Where you based?

Seen em all, but thanks. Also found the info on the transistor that fails in the 2.0 clocks so that may be the problem.

Same or maybe a little higher. My 12 mile commute includes moor roads where the car can be opened up and then some often nose to tale traffic and I'm seeing 33mpg most days. Before chipping it was below 30. Recent trundle to the lake district resulted in 40 mpg.

Had a few hours spannering due 2 captive nuts spinning and managed to remove and clean out the spoiler mechanism and motor and its now silky smooth. Made sure the microswitches were parking/working correctly then bolted it back in. Test drive to see if the automatic function works and alas, still switch only. I will now swap out the spoiler control unit for one of my other 2 spares and whilst I have no idea if any work, surely I can't have 3 duff. If the swap out doesn't work I have no idea what it could be. Someone did mention something about a resistor or sommat in the clocks that goes duff and any link to this may be needed/appreciated.

I got mine from this guy. All he needs to know is which ECU model you have so he can supply the right one. From memory I think I offered him £20 for it on a best offer and he took it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-CORRADO-2-0L-16V-PERFORMANCE-CHIP-Chiptuning-/320602862866?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4aa56b7512

You may want to chip it too. I got good results from an ebay chip (bit more eager)

Then butchering a cat is probably best so it at least looks like you have a cat fitted or it will fail the MOT. Cars earlier than August 92 (mines a Jan 92 car) can legally remove the cat. I assume your after some more go go and personally I'd not bother with the hassle of the decat unless you can be bothered grovelling under the car every year to change prior to MOT. What you need is some KR or more exotic cams to make her breath better.

Welcome to the fold.

What year's your valver? Mines a 92 and hasn't had a cat during my ownership and still passes the MOT.

Two of em, took ages to get out and now the mechanism seems to be tangled in the wiring.......give up for tonight and drink ciders.
-
Not completely, but your good luck finished it off, lol.
-
You'll only break it by looking at it ;)

Ha ha, knew you'd want one. Get one and I'll give you a hand fitting it if you don't feel confident. It really is a doddle to do.
-
you may be able to make one good one out of 2.

They come in white, they come in green, they probably come in all manor of colours but is there a particular year that the colours were supplied, such as white before 1990? And what's with the prices? Are they so rare that they command £100 ebay? Just wondering as I've picked one up in original condition at a bargain price.
-
Wayne, there's a red one at mine if you want to collect it tonight. You could even have a go swapping the white panel from yours into in.

sounds delightful, not.

Used meguiars last weekend and it seemed to do the trick but my seats are in fine fettle so can't say what it would be like on very dry seats.
-
Think I'm gonna just pull the mechanism and recon it anyway for piece of mine. Did start the process once but one of the captive nuts started spinning, so I gave up.

There isn't one, the idle is controlled by the ECU and ISV.
