*** Help with Spoiler only working manually and not at speed ***
MZpog replied to Tabbi's topic in Engine Bay
Reduce the buy it now price to reflect the defect (sorry, couldn't help myself) -
Could end up? Come on that deffo should be a would, it being a Corrado.

Don't you dare sell up or I'll be the only Raddo driver in Bingers and I'll have nobody to wave at, lol. My daily drive has been a pain some times with little stupid problems (such as stalling)but patience, lots of fixing, over a year of ownership and I'm still loving it (apart from the spoiler that still doesn't work). This morning got one of those fuzzy moments when the moors road was clear, the valver was revving and she ripped down the road. Admittedly I nearly lost her having beaten my corner to corner speed record, but didn't so all well. Whilst I may be loving the raddo, my better half hates the time/money I throw at running it, but she enjoyed driving it (I can't win, lol)

This time it went to Toyota Bradford. My mate works there, he picked it up for me and delivered with a new ticket. He did however make the point he wouldn't be white sticking it and if it failed it failed (personally I prefer this attitude than leaving a dangerous car on the road). Nice touch was they washed/vacuumed it before it came back - not sure if everyone gets this service though.

My Corrado can't be working as normal as it passed its MOT on Saturday with no surprises. Normally one job leads to several others, but this time she's been a good little car.

He gets it back in another 4 weeks,
-
He's gonna need to inject his wallet with anesthetic before paying his bill.

Interior light with pushbutton-style sunroof controls - SOLD
MZpog replied to Stonejag's topic in Parts for Sale
I have one of these kicking about in my garage, fitted in the trim with the little sun visor. I may have to work out how to sell stuff on here as it seems to be worth more than bin fodder. -
I'll be driving over too, if he's a spoiler expert.

1989 VW Corrado Factory Black Heated Full Leather Interior
MZpog replied to rado-steve's topic in Parts for Sale
Do you ever get to Yorkshire? Would it all fit in the back of a Corrado with seats down? Do the leather seats with the hump (mine does't have this) still fold flat for transporting stuff? -
1989 VW Corrado Factory Black Heated Full Leather Interior
MZpog replied to rado-steve's topic in Parts for Sale
Can't say I'm not tempted. Just wondering how the heated seat wiring fits in, is it just plug n play? -
It's now over a week after the fix with no more blown fuses so I'm confident to share what the problem was. It was the feed to the heated windscreen jets that had worn through with all the bonnet opening the corrado gets. The wire runs at the side of the bonnet hinge on the passenger side.

Is that a 50mm intake under your bonnet or are you pleased to see me?

Just buy shares in autosol I got mine powder coated to avoid the need for polishing. Also replaced the inserts and o rings - fitted in order as per Steveo'. -

Bingley seems to be getting common place for Corrado's, soon everyone will drive one. As for spoiler problems, me too. It works on the switch, but not automatically. I have a couple of spare control units that I bought with a view to fixing mine (it didn't) that you could borrow if you like, however if your MAF isn't working, then I'd expect its something to do with that. My understanding is the G60 has a speedo cable (I'm no expert so correct me if I'm wrong) so your speedo would still work, even if your speed sensor that controls the spoiler doesn't. -

No problem at all as my mechanic mate did it, lol. Seriously it's bolt off/bolt on but you may as I did, want to replace all gaskets and injector seals at the same time. -
At last my Xmas present from her indoors got fitted to my 2.0 valver. I was a little worried from reports that I'd lose loads of torque, but can honestly say it must be a small amount lost if any as it doesn't feel much different, that is until it gets to 4k RPM when it feels a much better and pulls harder. Would I recommend this modification, yes. Before After

I doesn't like you, that's all.....actually, did the same to me. -
Sorted, stupid mistake by me. I checked the reverse light switch at the weekend and had inadvertently unplugged the single blue wire/plug which I now know is for the exciter wire. Bob your auntie, it's fixed.
-
Bloody Corrado (2.0 16v) stopped charging tonight. Battery voltage 12.5v ignition on but not running, but with it running it was 11v instantly blamed the new reconditioned alternator and whipped it off, but when I checked the exciter wire there was no voltage. Checked in the car and battery light not lighting. What I need to know is where does the exciter wire get it's live? Is there a fuse (all looked ok) or a relay that I need to check? Help much appreciated.

I've no idea of placement, but would probably be interested in a set for mine.

I'm lazy so didn't clean my headliner when I fitted the Passat sun roof, but will have a go in the summer (if I'm not too busy driving the raddo or BBQing). It's a great modification and you'll love the light that floods into the cabin.

My valver is on 195/50/15, fitted to Schmidt 8J's. I found this site great for comparing - http://www.willtheyfit.com/

My idle issue was intermittent and down to a vac leak. Whilst checking the MAF as per Peacedub's post, I leaned on the boot off the meterhead and it stopped it's bad idle - no visible split in the boot but swapped for a spare and now she's running like a dream.

OMG, lots. Mine was a bit juddery/lack of revs (flat as a fart) when it ran out of electricity this winter and gave the same lack of acceleration (managed about 20mph max) - I assume you've checked the battery/connections etc.
