LOL - you might want to explain how fitting wood / clubmans and Minis have anything to do with my car
-
Just for a moment there I had visions that you were turning your C into the "clubman" model.. :D "into".. not "onto" ... :) don't you mean traveller?? ......clubman's were normally associated with Mini 1275GT's whereas the traveller was the Minor Estate with all the lovely wood on the rear [/quote:08007] Indeed you are probably right. I'm not old enough to remember that stuff... ;)[/quote:08007] Erm..... re-arrange these words? TOPIC ON STAY!

Well I have just spent 12 hours over 3 days polishing the VR - she looks mint indeed. A bit over obsessive perhaps but I took my time and removed a few scratches that I seem to have got from other people  and put lots of carnuba wax on to make the paint smooth as silk.... all I really need to make the paint mint is the front bumper and the under headlight panel repainting to remove stone chips done. Will be done shortly. Let the missus take her out to the Gym and has she backed out of drive and away I noticed a trail of fuel on the floor.... I swear she knows I am thinking of selling her and I have upset her feelings (the VR this is) but even then as she drove awayI couldnt help admiring those looks (again the VR) and having second thoughts.... The VR will have the cylinder head / tensioners / etc all done before I even think of selling - but what sort of money do you think she is worth? And for a laugh what do you think the Audi dealer will offer me in trade in  Cheers Scott

They actually have BOSE sound systems as standard

I'm assuming your looking at a T Sport Quattro then? My wife's car is a T Sport but only has the standard 150BHP engine. The T Sport Quattro was upgraded to 180BHP to allow for the extra weight of the quattro system. I think the FWD models remaned at 150bhp but correct me if I'm wrong  Drop me a PM if you want extra info on running costs etc for a FWD T Sport. Yes mate - am after the 1.8 T Sport Quattro (4wd) not the 150bhp Sport version.... that would be a little dissapointment after a VR6 I feel.... I would love to get the 210 / 225bhp engine but the only way to get that is pay for it through my nose getting an S3.... having said that if it makes THAT much of an impression on me I bet I land up buying it anyway  - doesnt help that my local dealer has 3-4 of them in stock in different colours! Got to be Dolphin Grey!!! Scott.
-
The problem is mate I am not sure I can afford the S3... they are still fetching £14k upwards which seems an awful lot of cash for what it is really.... where as I can buy a T Sport for about £6k? - Am going to look at them both.... but surely with the T sport being the 180bhp engine you can 'upgrade' to 225bhp or more? As for selling the C if I like the Audi it will be going... but like I said IF - the Audi has alot to live up too ... Scott.

Standard Exhaust and standard filter are the problems.... you need to concentrate on getting more air into the engine and more out of the back..... had the same problem when started modifying an old valver a few years ago.... felt breathless at top revs and required decent exhaust and filter to sort it....

.... test driving an Audi S3 and A3 1.8 T Sport on Saturday morning ...
-
Have always found Dubsport rollers accurate myself..... 1.8 16V rollered at 138bhp 2.9 VR6 rollered at 192bhp Not Bad!
-
I reckon on early 6 sec figures for the VR going by the amount of machinery I have driven recently.... And Kev is right about the TDi.... I am test driving the Audi TDi Sport this weekend.... same engine as the Golf PD 150 does 60mph in something like 8.7 secs?... seems slow for a 150bhp / 240lbft torque... but you wait till the mid range kicks in..... seriously rapid.... Scott

Cat Heat shield (Lower) VR6 - missing - is it necessary?
Scott replied to Nick_Micouris's topic in Suppliers Forum
And I bet its cos your right  (also with a rattling cat heat shield) -
lol - Mystic Blue then Its the look am after for my own VR6 although mine is Aqua Blue... the grill spoiler and lights set it off nicely... especailly with the lowered suspension and wheels.... lovely stuff
-
Mystic blue or Aqua Blue? Looks lovely mate.... made me realise that mine needs polishing so off to do it  lol
-
I have been told that saddle soap is the best thing you can used to replendish leather - I must admit it works extremely well and is very cheap!!!
-
Jesus thats clean... Is that OE paint or has it been painted?
-
Trouble is the guage on the corrado is not exactly accurate!! - hence a fuel light would be a good idea.... my Pug has one and I wait until its on solid then fill up again.
-
Why would you park your Corrado near the same spot that you had an old car stolen? :? Toyo's are ugly IMAHO... F1's have good rep. GSD'3's not available for Speedlines..... AVS Sports are good. Cheers Scott.
-
I have no idea - someone had already changed mine for panasonics  - no wonder it sounded pants!!!
-
You got to consider that in most cases the charger will at least need servicing on most G60's I would have thought at their age?
-
shite - WHAT!!!!!! unreliable - Mmmm, I cant get out of that one considering the things that have gone bye, bye since buying mine. slow - Eh? Are you taking the pi$$?? Yes he is taking the pi$$ timo
-
No worries... if get stuck give us a shout. Been there.. done that... etc etc  Are you doing the rear 6*4's too ?
-
I wouldnt have thought it would make any difference mate. You only buy springs to match the damper rates of uprated kit. Standard springs wont 'wear' as such.... If replacing with all new standard kit then they will be fine!! Cheers Scott
-
actually mate thats wrong.... prise out the covers for dash and then you prise out the tweeters too... as they are push fit into the hole and are held in via plastic prongs.. duh!! - I screwed my news ones in thats where I went wrong
-
I think its likely that the speakers again are sealed units - not bandpass. And the sound quality is probably due to the way the speakers are mounted. IMAHO the mounting of the front speakers in the VR6 leaves alot to be desired - ideally you want to mount them to some 3/4 inch MDF that will REALLY bring out the depth of the bass note and mount the MDF securely.... if you take the front speakers out you will see they are just mounted on four plastic posts against the speaker mount... pretty naff!!! - So at high volume you will get resonation unlike newer cars that are built better. Perhaps try some sound deadening in the doors?? You might perhaps want to look at some auto-acoustics front speaker mounts - these are supposed to make a heck of a difference - I would have done but I would prefer my speakers to be hidden from the scum... As for the dash speakers.... yes - prise them out carefully with a flat bladed screwdriver and then unscrew the tweeters.... be warned though I doubt if your new tweeters will drop straight in... more likely they will drop through the holes  and you will have to fabricate mounts for them from the old tweeter mount... Cheers Scott

Agreed  Its what I run.... everyone tells me I wont get any power from the RAM AIR.... but my car seems to tell me otherwise. I have the stock air box on at the moment whilst the RAM AIR is drying out from cleaning and I absolutely hate driving the VR with stock air box... feels flat, unresponsive and SLLLLOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW... :-P  Scott
