    OH OOH!!!!

Well you pay for what you get..... hence why VW exhausts are so expensive. Most 'Quick Fit' places use cheap mild steel systems that are poor grade steel hence why they dont last long - although some places are bringing in warranties on exhausts - doubt whether that will cover corrosion though! When mine does need replacing it will either be genuine VW or a Milltek Stainless unit.... The Corrado exhaust usually suffers from broken hangers and a rusty middle box - especially round the area where the pipe comes out of middle box towards rear silencer - had two middle boxes that went in this exact place on my old 16V.

    OH OOH!!!!

I have a four inch thick file of paperwork for the VR6 PLUS the service history log books, etc in the grey leather VW binder. Not bad for a car that doesnt have full VAG History and I picked up dirt cheap

    OH OOH!!!!

Yeah my VR6 is garaged every night without fail. Mainly for insurance reasons plus keeps the dirt off the paintwork.... dont usually take her out in the rain either unless I really have too.... I wouldnt let Kwik Fit clean the ashtrays on my cars.....

    OH OOH!!!!

Mine is on 112k now and still on original clutch, shocks and exhaust..... drives superb. Scott thats amazing I cant belive the exhaust has lasted that long whats your secret? I think the car has just been used regularly and looked after - I am quite shocked myself. But its only had two owners from new and both of them women who didnt really use the performance.... so didnt rag the car about. This obviously makes a difference.... The exhaust is excellent nick but the centre box shows some surface rusting - although nothing heavy and will last a couple more years yet. The back box still polishes up well and have friends ask if its stainless :) lol - Clutch shows no sign of wear and although the shocks are still very good I think they will need doing sometime this year - not because they need doing but because I am a fussy git and the back ones are looking a bit manky! :)

  9. Yokohama AVS Sport's ..... awesome in the dry, excellent wet weather grip and done over 3k on them and no real sign of wear yet! :)
  10. Same here but there was no way I was putting cheap fuel in her
  11. LOL... beat that (just).... £55.74 with Shell Optimax... and that was VERY empty (ahem - it cut out at the pump)
  12. Hello People!!! Sorry its been such a long time - in the process of setting up my own business and its very time consuming!! Anyway was thinking of a replacement for a Corrado (not that I'd sell mine) and thought about the Nissan 350Z.... Whats peoples views on them? Cheers Scott
  13. lol Still waiting for the mag and am checking the post as soon as the postie delivers :D If you fancy speaking to some of the CCGB people then I can recommend becoming a member of the Yahoo Corrado Owners Mailing List - although its not actually owned by CCGB alot of the CCGB members use it and you'll see that members are not 'Anal 40yr old farts' - far from it in fact. I doubt you'll come across a nicer / friendlier bunch of people like yourselves!!! Doesn't hurt to check it out........ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Corrado-UK Scott.

    Aux Water Pump?

Hi Guys, I have just found a nice pool of water coming out from under the VR.... Coming from the coil pack area.... so ripped the coil pack out and the sheilds, etc and was created by something that looks like a motor with a black plastic cap on end that connects to the matrix pipe and the water header tank pipe..... It looks like the water is coming from the joint between this plastic part and the motor??? Im assuming this is the aux water pump? If so how much for new one and where from? Any advice? :D

    empty expansion tank

Battery disconnect for ECU reset is only necessary for ten mins ...... lol Resetting the ECU will result in changing the parameters back to standard default levels so that the ECU has to re-learn its settings. Worth doing when any work has been done on the car.

    Tyres Again

I have just replaced all four tyres on my VR6 with Yokohama AVS Sports and have to say I am simply gob smacked with the amount of grip I have in ANY conditions!!! Yokohama seem to have sorted out the problems with wet roads - as it is now rated AA according to the side of tyre! The other plus is I had four fitted / balanced / etc for £240 all in :D Try em!!!
  19. I have the same problem and it has come down to the recent cold weather as the gearbox is thicker because of it.... once am moving the gearbox lightens up and fluid gear changes not a problem. Changing the gbox oil makes a heck of a difference though....
  20. Not so matey..... mine is a 1993 Coil pack VR6 and has the old 2*2 connector ..... In general its 1994 onwards that has the newer OBD2 plug. Scott

    ETKA

It might be worth checking that your graphics card is up to scratch if you are not able to change the res to 1280 * 1024 and you have a 15 inch screen or above.... Older graphics cards will not support this resolution no matter what size screen you have.... Cheers Scott
  22. same as mine! Yup thats what I quoted at dealer and they provided the metal tool - a well worth investment

    Wet Carpet!

I had the heater matrix go on my VR6 with the result that the carpets were soaked..... I dried them out as best as possible with kitchen towel then used a shampoo vacuum to wash the carpets - this sucked out all the dirt / water from the carpets - I then left all the windows open in the garage for the carpets to dry out. Two days later they are bone dry therefore preventing the need to strip them out 8)
  24. At 100mph Im not surprised......
