Quote: though i've also been told that as my vr6 is fairly low miles and has had mainly city use that the engine is still relatively "tight" Thats very true mate - I visited a friend down south who has a Classic green Storm with about 70k on the clock and when he drove mine - straight away he said mine felt faster and more reponsive as it revs up faster.. we agreed this was just due to mine having more miles on it..... I think the old age verse that comes up often - that VW's dont really come into their own till 100k miles is true to some extent!... once I got to around 100k miles my old 16V really seem to come to life.......

BITE ME   ... soz mate couldnt resist *:) - wanted to see if you would take the bait *;) Have thought about getting myself a G60 to keep the VR company - failing that a charger for the VR would be very nice *:)

Performance VW tested a Corrado VR6 and timed it at 6.3 seconds mate......... they timed it again recently and got it down to 6.2 secs so not much in it........ As for being a good driver ? - no comment - I let my skills do the talking *;) - If that aint fight talk I dunno what is - LOL *:)
-
I'd love to see what the outcome of a R32 to a VR6 would be like ..... what do people think>? Im a little worried now - my neighbour is buying a Lotus Elise..... wot do you lot reckon to my chances? Scott.

Wouldnt mind coming up against one of these myself.... have raced a Golf V6 4 motion and the Golf didnt stand a chance in heck .... that was a standing start too............

Nobody has spotted me yet :( -
Yup  - the 'scooby killer'.... also the 'porsche killer'... the 'bmw M5' killer and a few others *:)  Had just washed the car and 'wonder wheels' the alloys.... they do come up well but they are by no means perfect - one lady owner from new means they do have some battle scars *:) - why do you think I had to have the gearbox oil changed and the cables adjusted? *;)

Who wanted the information on the fuel injection system used on the 1.8 16V ? See here : http://www.auto-solve.com/mech_inj.htm#MFI10 Cheers, Scott

Im not bothered about this future classic stuff - but I do think not being made anymore makes them a special site on the roads... most people dont even have a clue what it is *:) - I like that!
-
Cheers mate - thats a bit overkill for what I want - I just want to replace the speakers with something powerful so can crank up the stereo without it distorting! *:)

Was that off the website, if so give them a phone as when I done a quote on there site it sounded good then when I phoned them they said I was too young (22) to be insured on a car of this insurance group. http://www.elephant.co.uk seem to be giving good quotes just now and the web prices are exact, can also be bought online. Well Im 26yrs old so cant really be classed as a young un these days *:) LOL.... Elephant wanted £1100 !

I would almost dare say they look like 16's... they seem to look just a little too small for 17's. I am probably wrong though :) The car is a stunning colour - that 2nd image in the fading light from the front view is brochure cover material.. superb. Is it a 1.8 16v? Seems to have the earlier style bonnet.. unless the light is just tricking me. Thats the early bonnet alright.... same colour as my old 16v 1.8 :D - beautiful under the sun!
-
Yes but my C is also standard .... add forced induction and it will take more than a 350bhp Impreza to slap it about *;)  I didnt think I'd stand a chance to be honest with you - I gave the Impreza a surprise and I was pretty shocked myself *:) Scott

And there was me thinking that a strut brace is to prevent the suspension turrets from flexing rather than looking good

Right after listening to my brothers stereo in his Saxo (dont ask Ive still yet to convert him *:) ).... I think its now time for some new speakers... Ive a 50W*4 mosfet Pioneer OEL unit in the dash that is cool but need to replace the speakers.......... What size are the speakers in the C ? - they have six I believe and more important how do I get the dash speakers out!!! - they look fun to get at ! *:( Im assuming the front doors have 5 1/4 inch speakers.. ? Can anyone help? Cheers, Scott

I was surprised too - after all the hype I heard... was very amusing - guy in the impreza was miffed *:) heh I think alot of it is due to the wide gearing on the VR..... I mean I hit 100mph in 3rd gear at about 6k rpm..... mad ! *:)
-
VR6 - 1, Impreza - 0    Impreza was glued to my bumper till about 90mph then started pulling ahead... by time got to 110 (on me nans private road!) he was a couple of car lengths back *:).... the VR IS going well *;) Well chuffed... *:) Scott

Anyone got experience of Liverpool Victoria Insurance Company? I ask as most companies been quoting me over £1000 fully comp on a VR6..... Liverpool Victoria reckon: £743 - £884 which is fantastic *:)... But whats their rep like ? recommended? Cheers, Scott

Yeah me too ....
