So this is my C that I picked up today, so excuse the filthyness. It's getting a full on clean tomorrow and resulting pics will be posted. 93 VR6 78k miles Aqua Blue Pearl Entirely standard spec Black Recaro's Headlight washers!? Original ICE Original first aid kit! Original spare So umm pretty standard really. After a damn good clean it needs a new grille badge (the old snapped one is in the glove box), some new disks and pads and fairly soon new boots on the rear.

The windscreen wipers took me a while to work out... driving down the M11 with them on. I worked out that the bottom position is for intermittant and the next one up is actually off. Couldn't work out why they kept changing speed on intermittant :D Although after having them on I can vouch for the crappiness of them. A trip to the stealers next week for a badge, disks, new first aid kit (current one expired in Dec 97!) and Lupo wiper arms methinks. I'll have to check if I've got a manual, if not that'll be on the list too. Edit: also need a battery for my key, so the light works :D

Could well have been mine with previous owner :) L reg ending in APG?
-
You'll probably find some nonce will buy it at put it on their TT :D

Fronts are 280mm on G60 and VR I think. What are the rears?
-
Don't quote me on that price, I just seem to remember a number something like that from previous threads, so they may be cheaper. I'm giving the stealer a call tomorrow anyway, so I'll ask then.l

I think the front disks are £36 from VAG each, dunno about the rest. I need a new badge too so I was gonna give the stealer a call tomorrow and find out the damage. Is it worth getting ETKA codes for the disks to make sure the monkeys order the right ones? (Not actually tried my local VW stealer before, so I don't know what they're like, but I don't want to find out the hard way!) Thanks guys. I'll get on the GSF site and put in an order for the Pagid's. Edit: Errr they seem to have standard Pagid's and Pagid TQ's?

I'll let you know on Friday when I pick it up :D Don't worry tho, there will be lots of pictures. This thing is insane, it's even still got the original First Aid kit, still wrapped up with an "Exp Dez 97" sticker on it lol. The head unit is definitely going to be kept, but I want something decent for every day use. I may uprate the speakers too, depending on what they sound like. This car is going to stay stock though :) Edit: Oh yeah the head unit also still has it's original plastic box in new condition... the one in my last car was held together with gaffer tape and I only had that 4yrs!

Gonna pick up my C on Friday and it's in need of some new pads/disks soon... I want to put VAG disks and some Pagid FR pads on the front. For the back am I right in going for all VAG? Does anyone have a good site to get cheap Pagid's from? Keep up the good work guys 8)

I pick my C up on Friday and it's got el cheapo tyres and almost dead discs and brakes on it, so I'm going to take it up to Snetterton with my mate's car full of spares and dispose of them :) Then I can put some Potenza boots, VAG discs and Pagid pads on 8) Hyla Breese (Exige champion a couple of years back) also owes me some driving instruction...hmmmmm :D:D:D:D

I've found that wiper blade life is related to how strong you mix up your screen wash, the stronger it is, the quicker it buggers the wiper blades... could also be related to brand of stuff you use, I'm sure the cheapo stuff doesn't do wonders for the rubber.

Mine's still got the original Sony VW tape head unit in it.. gotta work out how to replace that with something good pretty soon.
-
lol I type too slow :)

Where abouts did you get your VIN number from then? As you say, it should be stamped into the cross member in front of the windscreen, it'll start with WVW. It could just be that it's had an engine transplant, which might not be the end of the world. Definitely worth investigating further though. If you want to check the VIN, it should also be in the service book and on the sticker in the boot (open boot, look down, it's facing forwards on the back of the boot, you may need to lift the carpet to see it). But as the guys say, I'd give VW a call to see what they can tell you too. Good luck mate.

The point is, (if they're driving an M3 with that attitude) that they feel outclassed by your super cool Corrado, so they have to try and save embarrasment by showing his is slightly faster and racing you. Apparently it makes your appendage bigger too

The 'VR6' badge on the front of my C has fallen off (snapped pin thingy) Anyone got the ETKA code for a late grille, chrome VR6 badge please? Thanks :)
-
You will also have to fit the buttons for the seats in the dash, so make sure you get those as well
-
Yeah it's the joy of having an audience... I'm freakin itching to go pick my Corrado up on Friday...:D
-
Agreed! Definitely no smoking. I won't let anyone eat or drink anything in my car too. And no muddy shoes, dirty clothes, or messy hands. Certainly no greasy hair or smelly people either. I just about let them breathe (as long as they don't mist up the windows) :) Heh heh so that Passat advert was about you! :D
-
£39.99 on the website, but worth every penny. If nothing else it's piece of mind and interesting to see a bit about the car's history. If you do it online, it's also instant, so you get the results to read there and then.
-
I fit mine so it just slides right out with little effort (but tight enough to not rattle, slide around while driving). If some monkey has made the effort to break into my car, I'd rather they just took the head unit and didn't make a mess of my dash in the process.
-
:o:o Smoking in your Corrado?!?! Get some patches to tide you over instead. NOBODY smokes in my car. To have somewhere to put your VW cushion? :D
-
Is this GB still going, because I just bought my C and it's in need of some Shield :D
-
Don't worry about it mate, so did I. Just walk away. I managed to find a beautiful one for just over £5k so keep looking. I was on the assumption that I would need to look at at least 10 before I found the right one. You'll get the tingle when it's the one though, if you don't, just walk away.

The fact that I don't pick mine up til Friday? :D
