All you need to do is remove the centre light module (prise it out) then remove the two screws holding the sunroof motor cover in place, the sunvisior just clips onto the front of the surround.

ouch! not a fan of jet/pressure washers but I guess something must have been up with the paint if it came away that easily, perhaps it was never bonded to the primer properly at all, my bumper on my 16v is like that, rushed paint job in the past I think. Give me a month or two to hone my spraying skills :) -
it's a while since I had mine apart hard to remember exactly how it's set up, I guess it depends if it's just water in a connector and a bit of corrosion or if something has actually broken in the handle/switch. I'm pretty sure the passenger side should operate the CL, so it may be something that's affecting the whole system, perhaps a fuse or the pump on the CL vac system (in the boot, drivers side rear wheel arch under the carpet)

vacuum hoses can get leaks if knocked about, but it's more likely that the switch on your driver's door handle that triggers the locking is dodgy, does the passenger side do the same?

both cars I have suffer the same problem, the underdash trays have warped badly over the years where they screw up to the main dash shell. thought I'd have a bash at straightening them and it didn't work out bad at all: DASH-TRAY.jpg[/attachment:2tdpthjo] picture explains what I did :) if you have a go, don't go mad with the heat gun, but with a bit of care it straightened out really well. Doesn't seem to have affected the colour or made it brittle or anything.

early motor is different, but if your old one is OK then just use the old bits on the late roof mech.

to be fair the GSF top mounts I've had on my valver have lasted years and that's on eibach springs, tiny bit of play in them but no worse than the VAG ones get after 30 or 40K either :shrug: Can you stick the later top mount straight on an early strut, or do you need other components, spring plates etc.?

looks like an early 4cyl corrado/passat one to me, golf G60 used the same, if your car has the late suspension then as you say it should have the separate bearing type of mount. Edit: just seen the part no. 357 is passat, so yes it's the wrong one, early type. note the chassis no. in the pic below: 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfImage1.gif[/attachment:2nmdnq22] although, having said that the late suspension is not listed for the G60: Image2.gif[/attachment:2nmdnq22]

is the mk2 fan a dual speed one? it's possible there's some issue with the 2 temperature thermostatic switch on the bottom of the rad and the speeds available from the fan you use, perhaps the fan is only running at low speed from the switch but the mk2 fan only has a high speed setting? sounds like your rad switch isn't working on higher temp/speed or the rado fan isn't.

item 1 on the ETKA screen is the side support, and it's a 191 part so it's shared with the mk2 golf!

it's pretty simple, 2 bolts either side go straight up inside the rear box section under the car, remove these and the rear bumper just slides out (with it's supporting iron) the covers clip to the iron with an odd tab and wedge system, tabs are part of the bumper skin and can get sheered off in bumps. the sides slide over the plastic fittings to keep the sides in true with the side of the car/wheel arches, no real room for adjustment. no. 8 is the four fixing bolts 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfbumper.gif[/attachment:340nbn3d] this pic is of the front, but shows the wedges I'm on about: bumpers.gif[/attachment:340nbn3d]

you can check if the oil temp sensor is getting voltage by removing the wire to it and connecting a multimeter to it and to earth, the sensors just progressively earth to the block so the wire should be getting voltage from the dash if the ignition is on.

2nd hand passat centre sunvisor extra soundproofing, esp. doors headlight loom and phillips brighter bulbs I'd imagine a tubo on a VR is hard to beat though, despite the cost

the vertical bolt has (or should have) one end with a 'v' shape that squeezes the clamp together, perfectly up to the job and better than the earlier cars that had a cheap pressed metal clamp that bolted up in the horizontal. Clamps themselves aren't usually the problem and are easy to clean up, it's the corrosion where the cable is clamped into the clamp, at both ends, battery and starter etc.

LOL - Interestingly Chris was glad to have driven the valver to Scotland - reckoned it was far better on the tighter roads than the VR would have been - better turn it etc. what, even up those mountains in a 1.8 valver :) good job it's got such a low ratio gearbox, which leads me on to the deezil, 6 speed overdrive must add a few mpg on top and low revs compared to a petrol is what makes the most difference. Have to say, when I drove a 1.9 fabia estate :pukeright: I was astonished at the mpg readout, couldn't get it lower than 45 caning it around town, I'd have got about 25 if I was lucky doing the same in my 1.6 golf! Brother in laws Octavia 1.9 (110) would easily do 60 on a steady motorway run, the VW TDI's are very thermally efficient, so much so that people complain they don't warm the cabin enough in winter :lol: Still don't like the TDI power band though, and for the mileage I do a TDI doesn't make sense £££ wise all considered. I can see a big BM TD auto might be a nice cruiser though.

I don't mean to be funny but that's a bit vague, there's a whole bunch of items going obselete from VW for the Corrado and similar age VW's now, a large number, but not all, are trim items that are rarely bought and so VW simply discontinue, such as small plastic covers for the dash cluster surround and in particular 'early' parts that were restyled in the 1992-ish facelift models, lights etc. Thern there's items like the 16v fuel lines. Dealers can be a bit useless too, some will say items can't be obtained when actually they are still available. But I'm sure people will provide their own list of items they've tried and failed to get recently.

do you not have the VW Corrado handbook that came in the car? my 1994 handbook states 1240 for the VR I think, but obviously with options this varies a bit, I would have thought the info from the correct country handbook for your car would be as good as a legal statement from VW as you can get?

Corrado, golf cabrio or scirocco handle, part no. : 867 881 633 right 867 881 644 left a mk2 golf one is smaller but will probably fit, 191 881 633 A and 191 881 634

well, you're in the right place! roof is a pain in the rear as the roof lining has to come out, but you can get a repair kit or use a second hand one fairly easily. spoiler motor may be OK, could be a power issue, have a search on the forum, your other things are fixable too, put your location in your profile, might help with local advice/help for you, never know who lives nearby?

think you'll get away with it on an 8v, valves are inline with the pistons and VW 8v's aren't normally interference engines.
