  1. Bumper removed and stripped to bits, time to clean it up and prepare for new paint, I've only had the paint for 3 years! 16v corrado bumper by David0011, on Flickr 16v corrado bumper by David0011, on Flickr
  2. Don't need measurement, you can see aged marks where the sections were located, just tap it until the marks line up again

    Terraclean

sadly(suspiciously) there's not much trace of that on the web, but anyone that's invested in the kit gets really funny when you question it...
  4. waiting for mine to come too :) say's it's good for 120 degrees so sounds similar to the bostik stuff which I could only find for £50 for 5 litres!!!
  5. ah, just re-read, if it's fixed column then yes it's easy to fix
  6. on a fixed steering column I did this and just whacked it back into place, the sections of the column inside the main tube are designed to slide and collapse in an accident, but you can tap them back the other way if you have compressed them a bit, I'm assuming you can take the inner column out of the outer tube as on the fixed column though, can't remember if the adjustable one comes fully apart
  7. take the bonnet off and turn it upside down? :)
  8. thread resurrection, should this stuff be pretty good? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-can-high-temperature-spray-glue-adhesive-500ml-trimfix-trimbond-120-C-/151206875665?_trksid=p2054897.l5672 my sunroof lining has peeled away
  9. If you can get an Allen key onto the motor casing bolts holding it to the regulator try loosening them and re-tightening, that freed one of mine off, it's a sign of a tired motor and worn regulator though.

    Door problems!

So the interior handle and rod to the catch is not triggering the release?
  11. Yeah, will be fine, original spec was slightly different as the 2L is slightly higher compression but it will work fine, you might find one of the small connections has a different plug on it depending on the year
  12. I had several nice comments from people on the way in and out of Bruntingthorpe and there were quite a few people wandering through the cars during the day looking interested, perhaps we should have had some board or something at the front explaining who we were and why we were there :)
  13. yep, the scuttle area is what catches and drains the water not the trims above, I suppose they help stop spray running straight onto the ECU etc, on the scuttle trims it's also annoying that the end securing screw sits in a little recess, water just sits on top of it
  14. if the clips have been butchered (seems to happen with any screen change) then I'd just look for some windscreen adhesive on ebay as Kev says, not the easiest stuff to source from local places though and I don't think screen fitting companies will sell it to you directly
  15. there's a small plastic clip that the rod is inserted into at an angle, a tab or two breaks off it rendering it useless and the rod falls out second image in the top post on p9: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=12282&page=9
  16. open the door (I mean remove card/film etc) and whack the motor while trying to operate, it might just be tired and stalled
  17. It may be the temp module in the dash itself, is it an original Corrado gauge?
  18. I've used slightly thinner glass protection film than laminx, I reckon it's really effective, and the advantages of being virtually invisible and cut to protect fogs and indicators too, personally I think the polycarbonate headlight protectors look awful

    Clutch gone ??

Any car with electronic injection will usually creep forward at idle in gear, even uphill, the ecu compensates for load and adds a little more fuel, even a mk2 Digifant golf will do this.

    Clutch gone ??

Doesn't sound like a clutch to me, the problem would normally be not disengaging if the slave cylinder had gone, i.e. Not being able to get into gear, or slipping if the friction plate was worn, my golf had your symptoms with a vacuum leak on the inlet side, but that was with a motorised DBW throttle body, so it compensated at idle and kept it idling ok until you put it under any kind of load. Any noises, smells or clutch pedal weirdness?
  21. It's a bit time consuming but I really didn't find it that bad.
  22. do you need 4x4? just a liability for most people. and the skoda is a skoda, and it's not all about the badge, VAG keep a pretty tight grip on the features and materials across it's marques and it does make a difference, if I was buying for the long term I know I'd want the audi, I'd just rather be in that interior and seeing that exterior, a mondeo is probably a better car than both but would you want one of them?
  23. saves you stubbing it out on dash :) I keep change in mine, handy to see what's in there.
  24. my dad has recently bought a 2L TDI A6 Avant S line (but a manual), lovely car and no diss-ing the alternatives but it has by far the best build quality and some very nice touches, they are a little over-priced IMO but I'd go for the Audi every time
  25. Well, pulled my finger out and taxed and insured the 16v for the summer, bit later than I had planned but a leaky cylinder head flange held me back a couple of weeks, that and general laziness :) , anyway should get to Bruntingthorpe for the ccgb national day. plastic head flange went really funny, it's gone oval from all the years of heating and cooling and the plastic is breaking down where it has been in contact with the coolant. image by David0011, on Flickr image by David0011, on Flickr
