realy depends on what you want from it as to what gearbox to use.ie is it a toy or being use for track day then the higher ratio options are good lower top speed but more torque available in each gear.for a more relaxed drive lower ratio will give lower rpm and better mpg as per your tdi box.

the letters at the end of the number are a revision code.so i should think its ok

G60 stainless manifold 2 bolt flange vs 3 bolt decat
madmatt replied to northG60's topic in Engine Bay
have a word with you local custom exhaust shop.or search online for custom exhaust parts, flanges are available on there own. -
think its normally pin 1 from the speed sensor to the ecu pin 2 to speedo and pin 3earth is how most are wired.if the speedo is working them good as the sensor feeds both.
-
il second that the passat manual very good for wiring i ithink my mate may have a spare if you need i will have a word.
-
the wiring for that sould run ubove the tank, the connection looks right for the vr6/g60 pump have you ever had this car running.
-
techtronic twin 2" down pipe to a 2.5" system for the vr6.
-
has the car got an under mounted pump or a connection above the beam.
-
minimum 2.5" system but going bigger will help reduce back pressure and help the turbo spin up faster and reduce egt.
-
i see that is a peirburg type and believe that is the later 1 pump system.the earlyer system ran two pumps.has the pump been changed to the g60 pump.
-
i tend to go for silver the discs are silver and most of my motors have silver or polished alloys so i think it looks the best.but its a very personal thing.
-
once it cuts out will it start up straight away if not it could be a fuel issue a squirt of staring fuel into the intake sould help prove if its fuel or electrical
-
i bought 1 just like that years ago, good bit of kit and cheap as,red instead of blue and that came with a 2+2 lead for early cars.thought all obd2 cars run the 16pin plug butyou need the adapter to run on obd1 car.got an official vagcom which is what i use most now as it does so much more on late cars
-
i always change them
-
hi im based just outside cardiff south wales ive got vcds 14.10 with 16pin an 2+2 adapter.just been scanning a corrado i bought for my dad its 95 2.0 auto with the ady motor and vag com does read the motor on that 1.if anyone needs any help get in touch.
-
a bit of vas or silicon grease works for me doesnt hurt to put a bit around the bore either.
-
the plates in the locks are the same in most vag models pre 98 so easy to find and there are only 4 differnt plates so i would pull the drivers and re shuffle the plates and see how you go the lock will still work even if a couple of plates are missing
-
dont know if it's just a bad job but i had some borbets powder coated crome effect and the finish is not that impressive marks realy easy i normally run polished rims and much better as a quick polish every couple of weeks and all good.if you seal with a good wheel wax hardly need polishing at all.would think that would be ok on a rocker cover.as it copes with the heat and brake dust ok.

i do tend to let my cars idle start and cool down but most are turbo'd theys days.in the old days with big carbs and no chokes it was a case of get them moving as soon asap. the best complaint i had was from the manager when i worked as an engineer at an aero engine plant most day i rode an aircooled ducati to work and i parked it in a bike shed next to the engine test bed i worked in,the buiding opposite had a meeting room on the third floor. no problem with a jumbo motor running flat out but a ducati ticking over in the shed shaped like a big megaphone would shake the room even the water in there glasses would move and the afternoon meeting would have to stop for a few mins till i left. they did put up with it for 2 months before telling me, turned the bike the other way round after that and no problem everyone happy.
-
had same problem on a few tdi's in the past.and that was the starter.once the bushes wear past a point they start to move around and course intermitant starting problems. early starters had a bush in the gearbox that wears and this should also be changed, but later type was self supporting and even thou looks different works
-
i think there may be abit if confusion going on over hid bulbs ie the replacement lamp type and projector beam units.all abit old hat now the new kids on the block are the cob led projectors
-
im sured that was built by a guy that was an engineer for koenigsegg, who did know a thing or 2 about making a car go.it was featured in ppc a couple of years ago it's running a 6 cyl dohc volvo motor.i know what you mean about the ferrari but i dont think the volvo would be that heavy and i think it's running a solid axel so set up right will launch well.
-
the other cheaper option is just to make up a spacer plate between the manifold and down pipe and put some longer studs in.i would not be in hurry to put solid engine mounts in unless it is a race car.
-
i have seen longer manifolds i think tsr have them listed for an abf into a mk2. but i would think a mk3 would fit
-
Not a Corrado, just had my S4 B8 tweaked at MRC!
madmatt replied to Hofmiester's topic in General Car Chat
i love tweaked motors so much fun for ****ing peaple off you should see the faces on some of the arse holes who flash me out of the fast lane in my old bus only for me to do the same to them when there flat out in there little car.
