  1. Cool! I have a Silverstone experience to use up at some point before October. Morning of lessons 4 laps in an Exige 4 laps in a Ferrari 355 1 fast lap in a track prep'd road car, what ever that is? I got told they don't let you go wild in the Ferrari's, I'm going to do my best to get the back out though!
  2. I'm going to bum you into 2007!
  3. Phil, Now your talking! Get a nice dark colour 968 club sport and fit the RS front splitter and get the split rims and the M030 pack (basically just Koni's) and that is a dam fine machine! I think that is my No1 Sub £15k car! (used of course)
  4. I'd get the RS Focus 8) Surely you're joking? Ford, Vauxhall and TVR on the same list? Er... TVR!
  5. get a TVR Chimera 4.0L or an E36 3.0L M3 1996 (ish) You could even get a Skyline R34!
  6. CoxyLaad, I wasn't meaning to say RWD was better than 4x4 or FWD. I would rather have 4x4 in this country as the roads and weather suck. What I meant to put across was, that, BMW is far superior to Audi. I'll get my coat again
  7. Well standing up for BMW.... The last M3 they tested on Top Gear has 340 HP where as the Audi had considerably more from the turbo'd V8. The next M3 (being a V8 will probably kill that S4 around the same track. But then Audi will make a new version and the cycle will continue. F1 cars a RWD, nearly all fast racing cars are RWD. For the money and time involved in converting a FWD car to 4x4 it's worth getting a different car imo unless you have the means to do it all yourself (like Ben) and want something different (also like Ben) Also: - Everyone knows BMW's are better than Audi's M1, M3, M5, M6, 3.0 CSL what more do I need to say! Good night, I'm off!
  8. I've got to agree, I think you should keep the RX's on. It maintains a bit more VW having BBS's than moving to Porsche rims imo
  9. OH thats perdy! Thats the same shape as the one in Bad Boys no? 996 or something, my favourite shape by far! Look at the ass on it! Keep us updated on the running costs as I'd love one! I imaging we'll be seeing some splits on there soonish :-)
  10. OOOOOFT! Thats below the belt, but the trailer is pushing out atleast 340 bhp lol
  11. Wow! thats a very nice standard looking VR! Should give KIP VW a run for the money! Maybe we will see you at NR or Henley in the summer soooooooo..... How much did it go for???? Should get you a couple of sets of rears on the Porker lol
  12. Have a look at 16VG60 on this forum or John at JMR, he has one in a Corrado and it's crazy! pushing out way over 300bhp with some F1 technology in, something to do with the throttle body's I think? It's a blue Corrado with 17" BBS RX's, lowered on FK's with a twin custom milltek system - really nice! Ben Was it Nick's car? I'm persuading some guys from work to come to No Rice including the guy with the E30 M3 Your mate Alex has a 16VG60 also no?
  13. The windscreen I have is quite new, not a scratch on it. I have called up Admiral (my insurers) and my windscreen cover is with RAC auto windscreens who will hopefully be doing it on Wednesday next week. I'm unsure if I should break it just before they come over or see if they want to try and reseal it first? I'll probably get a hammer and just tap it infront of the drivers side I haven't paid for anything yet so can always cancel this if any other ideas
  14. Hi Guys Just wondering what was the best option for this. I purchased a E36 328i Sport a couple of Months ago and it came with a 1 year warranty. I noticed water dripping in a couple of days at the top of the windscreen, checked behind the roof fabric and it was dripping slightly, after checking a bit further there was a few inches missing the bonding sealant. This was done through Autoglass after looking through the mountains of receipts. Shall I A) Crack the screen, phone the insurance and use my £50 excess for another Autoglass attempt and watch them while they do it? B) Pay someone to redo the windscreen? C) See if this might be covered under warranty? I'm not opting for this choice straight away because it was such a hastle getting a new caliper sorted when I first picked it up Thanks for any ideas Neil
  15. If you are asking if you got ripped off on your new purchase it would seem you are not fully satisfied with it? Sub 40k miles for a VR6 for £7000 sounds fine to me! Last Easter to summer I saw several with up to 80k miles asking for much more, I think there were a couple pushing £10k which were non-Storms. Surely everyone wants there VR6's to go up in value? I'm quite disappointed the market for them seems to have dropped and I don’t even have one anymore! Maybe the summer time will bring out some high prices!
  16. Dave - Me and Ben had a ride in Asims car when it had RS's and the H&R coilovers on (I think the comfort ones?) and the car handled amazingly over the country roads around Henley and on the motorway. I think he also had the rollbars/strutbraces etc on. My old one with RS's and Konigsports was quite comfortable over normal roads but really quite scary going around corners on country roads - Me and Hugo nearly ended up in a fence going 40 mph round a corner in Hazlemere.... After putting back on the speedlines the handling was amazing but you need the RS's sooooo get the H&R's!!!!
  17. I miss this one, anyone seen it about? Will have a license plate with L666COR now and speedlines/solitues or something else on :-(
  18. I think the Koni shocks and HR springs will suit you fine, some people might complain about them (they are obviously going to be harder than factory shocks/springs) but if you're comparing Koni's to Gmax from your first post, I think you'll be happy. One thing I've noticed is lowered suspension seems to feel more comfortable on larger wheels - I don't know why?
  19. I had FK Konigsports which were quite good and not too costly. This was on a VR6 and is alot heavier in the front than valvers/G60's. Because of this I had the rears set up on a very soft setting 1/4 turn and the fronts on medium 1/2 turn which I thought was okay for every day driving. The state of them after a couple of years though, I would buy stainless steel suspension if I did it all again.
  20. I had those on a mk3 Golf which BiggerBigHugo on this site bought off me. It handled really well and was about 25 mm lower all round for about £120. I had to fit uprated bump stops at the back as the wheels kept hitting the wheel arches. The rear shocks lasted 3 months and then I fitted koni's which made the ride alot harder. The money and time it took faffing around would have been much better suited to just fitting the shocks and springs to begin with IMO
  21. You should really uprate the shocks if you are doing springs. Eibach are a good make of springs however and aslong as you don't lower more than 30mm you might get away with it on standard shocks. It will decrease the life of your standard shocks though
  22. Personally, I would only ever buy a "Big Name" if I were doing something as important as suspension: - FK KW Koni Bilstein Eibach H&R (possibly some others) You might as well buy stainless steel if your planning on keeping the car along time. KW and Koni do these along with others. I wouldn't buy Spax, Gmax, Avo or anything like that. Big companies have done the R&D Leave it standard until you can afford a good setup. No point buying coilovers unless you intend to alter the height now and again as some good shocks and springs will be cheaper and you'll probably prefer them on normal road conditions. You pays ya moneys......
  23. Apparently (as Ben says) I found the last person willing to pay alot of money for a VR.... I have no idea if this is sold though, it was/is much nicer than my old one also
