Hey I'm not shallow! Lets take this slagging match to semi-skimmed milk! No I'm just kidding, I am shallow, I don't like being seen talking to Hugo too much because he doesn't shave and smells funny.... If someone gave me a Cayenne, I'd probably drive it for a bit, and feel good in it before selling it to buy a second hand 355 GTS. But, for a coupe, a sports one at that, looks should be pretty high up the ladder for a potential buyer. Admittedly some cars do have to be designed for those with no taste such as a Cayenne and a specific person who apparently wants a turbo.... I'm going! You can't catch me!

a carbon fiber roof removing the sunroof would be cool, like on an M6!

"What did the VR6 get? An ancient 12V traction engine, useless brakes, cloth (unless you sold your gran for the Storm), no air con, ineffective TC, 4x4 ride height, crap headlights, crap door handles, queer spoiler, **** sunroof and a chassis from a car designed in 1979. But that's why we love them" Floopin ell! 12v - designed to make you want to drive it just for the hell of it with the windows down while it's snowing! The TVR Griffith has a V8 from the 60's/70's, I'd rather have a sorted one of those than many cars today Granny's Leather - Mine had leather, didn't cost me much Sunroofs - who needs em? Headlights and ride height - sorted for £500 ish, compare that to filling in the axe wounds on the Mc Fiat and respraying, it's not too bad Queer spoiler - Thats why I always wanted one! Chassis from 1979 - actually it's several left over bits of old chassis.... People that don't take into account what cars look like aren't real car enthusiasts in my (correct) opinion.

I personally I think the fiat rust bucket is one of the ugliest cars I have ever seen! I have read quite a few comparison posts between these two cars in the last year, which upset me when I had the Corrado as much as they do now. In my opinion people choose a Fiat 20v (oops my turbo rusted off) in the same way people choose a Porsche Cayenne - because they have no taste! Someones got to drive them I suppose, I'd rather walk! I'm sure a domino's delivery bike is quicker than a VR6 with a turbo, would I have one? NO I'm okay now Bye

Very cool! Well done indeed! How much did you raise?

well thats a bit of a kick in the head isn't it....

Nikki, you wanna come along? We are going for the 12pm show on Saturday, BMW has a stand there which should be quite cool
-
Well I have just bought tickets for Saturday! I can't wait! I got the tickets to go into the paddocks after as that sounded fab! I've just been told after buying these that my work has a stand there and I could probably have gone for free... bugger... well atleast I won't have to talk to them when I'm there now!
-
Well for insurance purposes it is anything over 15 years old I think, so some are....
-
I think it was on last weekend but is also on from today until Sunday, looks like there are plenty of tickets left

Ice White Socks's Mystic Blue Storm- The R32 eater ;-)
biggerbigneil replied to Ice White Socks's topic in Members Gallery
This is one of my favourite Storms, so sleek! I want it! -
If you have got the time/tools/knowledge I would say just to buy as low mileage VR6 as possible for the money you have and slowly do up the body work, chassis and engine when it needs it and get leather when you can afford it. This way you should be increasing the value of the car.

Leaking Coolant EDIT Changing Coolant...
biggerbigneil replied to biggerbigneil's topic in Engine Bay
Okay, bit of a problem... I removed the lower radiator hose and drained the coolant out, then flushed with water. I replaced the part with all seals etc. The new part I noticed had two wholes at the top, one for the sensor and another for a safety blow off top (which I now know). The car is now at a garage. Apparently you have to blead the system of air, how does one do this so I don't do it on a nice car? -
Kev - Glad to here you are now liking Milltek as you weren't so thrilled on them from previous threads. As I don't own a Corrado now and don't own a Milltek I can say without being biased that the current Milltek range on Corrado's are pretty spot on (now). The early systems for Corrado's seem to be worse quality and from the ones I've seen look quite thin. The one I had required refitting once again as it grew quite alot from new over the first two months and had to have the center pipe cut back a bit. As you know Milltek are a big name and quite comonly used on performance Audi's, BMW's and VW's. The R32 Milltek system sounds awesome also! If/when I get another VR6 it will have a Milltek on it. I think again with any exhaust it depends on the fitter, I've heard quite a few people having to get stainless steel exhausts refitted from growth and you have to be quite forceful taking them apart and sometimes they could be damaged, possibly resulting in systems being louder or fitting incorrectly.

Wow! Is that the same shape as the Porsche in Bad Boys? Thats my favourite Porsche! Nicer than the E46 M3 any day!

There is a guy at dragonspeed.co.uk in Cranleigh selling the nicest Rallye I've ever seen! 60,000 miles, resprayed in the original colour, leather interior, mint throughout if anyone is seriously interested check the site and give them a call

Leaking Coolant EDIT Changing Coolant...
biggerbigneil replied to biggerbigneil's topic in Engine Bay
Cheers guys, just ordered the parts! Do you know if the charger can just be altered on to make it a G60 without any other changes - not that I'm going to, just interested -
Wow! I would love to do the Gumball/Canonball run one day! Did you get any coments about your car?
-
Hi Not Corrado related, but the 1.8 engine in the MK3 is a similar lump to the G60. The top flexi pipe from the radiator going to the top of the engine fits into a plastic part which takes hoses from the coolant tank and also has an electronic cable in the top. The plastic part attaches to the engine which is where it leaks. I have taken it apart last weekend and bought a new rubber gasket (looks like a black rubber band), replaced it and it still leaks.... The plastic part is a square shape and only has bolts on two of the corners so the fit isn't great from factory. When I took the old seal off it was the same as the new one I have bought but hasn't solved the problem, do you think I need to use a sealant or do you think there is suppose to be another gasket? The plastic isn't cracked, it's the seal from the black plastic to the engine Top of Radiotor -> Coolant pipe -> Black plastic thing -> engine Any help would be greatly appreciated

he's on £210 an hour lol!

My goodness! This was posted last year.... Bathroom sealer, hmmmm, I doubt it as I bought from PMA auto supplies in Cranleigh. £840 for 17" BBS RS's is a steal if they were in pieces

They do look nice on Darrens Passat! They are definitely polished, on the Corrado they look like dirty dustbin lids IMO
