  1. Because it is easier to leave the battery and fuel lines on the l/h side of the engine bay ;) Anyway just a pipe dream ATM
  2. No point really Eric, can get a KR lump with box for around £100 and with the KR engine I might even be able to loose the stupid brake pedal linkage thingy as the intake manifold won't get in the way. That and the steering wheel will be on the correct side! Only issue would be finding a 16v' rocco intake manifold but I have one already
  3. Always liked the idea of sticking a valver into a rocco, might well get around to it now! I hope that MK.III Goof they were chasing him in was a VR! although I suspect he ran out of revs rather than power. Yeah, bring on the Dutch police, chilled out or what 'And this is my gay lover'... stereotypes ;)
  4. If you get no joy from Jag head office then drop a letter down to your local paper - sort of thing they will love and will have the desired effect on both Jag dealers.
  5. Yeah that does suck. It's not like it is any skin off their nose but it amazes me the complete difference in attitudes you get for dealers that are all suppossed to operate from the same 'handbook'
  6. Meh, think I will fry them... Proper factory ringer this - charger number 1260 with an 'M' after if that means anything to anyone.
  7. Newbury is a bit out of my way.. that and Dom smells of cheese.
  8. That was kinda the point.. Ok, well the paint code on the boot sticker is L90E - try that for starters.
  9. PMSL. It is not a pre-production model, in fact it has 11,000km on the clock - nor was it used for R&D either. It's not the pickup in the pic, its the one behind.
  10. It was made but it isn't what it says it is, its the only one left of a few that were made but were never for sale or what they said they were either. How's that? (Oh and it was made in February 1989.)
  11. No, it's not the Zender cab - as we said before you won't know what it is because it does not exist.
  12. That is to put it mildly fucking nuts! If you really want to freak out about 'modern' electronics on cars just have a read up on the horror that is GM's 'On Star' system. Really good article about 'On Star' and the failings of ABS etc have a read here: http://www.chris-longhurst.com/speakingaboutnannycars.html
  13. To set the parking light (not 100% sure but instructions for this should be in the handbook) you leave the indicator on when you switch off the engine hence why I asked. The other reason for asking about the headlight switches is that fail with age and as you have an early one it will be a lot cheaper than a new one - although this does seem to be an issue with the contacts on the indicator ring ring stalk.
  14. Bit more info please, do you have an uprated headlight loom? Is it an early or later interior (different light switch) Are you switching the ignition off with the steering wheel centered and the indicators cancelled? But I would agree with Neil though :D
  15. A lot of dosh for fitting a set of collies at £600 in parts.
  16. Indeed. We are waiting to see where this car ends up hence the nudge, nudge, wink wink stuff.
  17. I am still trying to er, get info on this from that other source. And both Dinkus and Jim are right - it is VWM related but they only supplied a completed part, they didn't build the rest of it and that is what makes it unusual. That and the fact it just doesn't exist - might even say that it is a proper factory ringer.. Oh and you are right Jim I will kill ya
  18. I suppose my point being that there are far more dubbers out there running mk. IIs let alone the whole of the VW community. As we are so fragmented we can't even think about getting that sort of an aspect to a club together. They made more Corrados in total than three of the types that Triumph produced!
  19. My problem with club GTi and CCGB is that compared to my other car club, the Triumph Sports Six, they are no-where near as good. They have embraced the interweb thingy, have over 30k members (Not bad for a production run across the entire model range of less than the Golf), have a large well attended club weekend and still produce an excellent monthly magazine. To cap it all off they employ people full time to run the club shop which sells lots of parts and upgrades as well as run a club museum that houses some fairly unique examples of the various marques; including one of the chassis only motor show display stand type things. All that for under £35 a year and you get a book detailing members across Europe that will offer accomodation/tools/help if you breakdown near them!
