alright guys :) ive done a search but not come up with anything. my friggin sunstrips keep coming off the screen (fitted to outside of screen) so i was wondering how to remove/maybe reposition? the rear view mirror so i can fit a sunstrip on the inside of the screen. cheers, neil. :)
-
yes. :) but i havent got a feckin clue why?....why? why ! why !!! :? on a serious note, one thing i will say is dont let em scare ya. if they are serviced reguarly (just like any car really?) then theres no reason for anything to be going wrong.and the charger should last the whole time between designated rebuild periods with no problems. :) good to keep the rpm low untill full running temp too, gives the charger seals less grief while the oil pressure is high, little things like that make me feel better

yeah, could say i dont hate it half? as much now... i just used autosol on the tailpipe m8 :thumbleft: edit:just dug out my receipt for the rado...ive had it for just over 12 months! and i havent started to like it yet

aye,i was always gonna tell ya,just had to say the obvious 'im not telling bit' cough - duostyling air/fuel gauge - cough  snipped the wire from the gauge that runs to the lambda probe and bang!problem instantly gone! to say i couldnt believe it was/is an understatement... anyway,i took it out of the dash and sort of looked at it (holding back, trying not to turn it into many little pieces) but plugged it back in and...it works properly now :? reads diffarently to what it did before and no running problems :!:

awesome work! :D  8) my fave interior too,ive got some minty front seats in that colour to go in,just need the rest! love the headlights too! they are wicked, never see em in the uk 8)

cheers jenks m8,appreciate it :D i do still burn a candle for the yellow fogs... Neil.

do you have a continuity tester m8? :) stick one end on the wire at the coil end (if thats where they take feed from? think it is) and the other on either of the 2 wires you found. if the tester dosnt reach, just stick some speaker wire or anything similar on the tester to lengthen it. :) Neil.

low? it is? got used to it now i suppose! potatonet,it is a g60 m8 :D cheers guys.

hello! :) yep,25mm all round on 8x16's all round :) bit of an update on the rado, its running better than ever at the moment, and im not telling anyone what was causing the problem, you wouldnt believe it! new bosch lambda amongst other new bits...and just gone through mot needing a wheel bearing so i replaced both. dewedged throttle body/was heavily ported/polished by me before... before:full throttle. after:full throttle. treated it to an ally beesting for behaving  and gave it another! full service! plugs/oil and air filters/oil,already had some new g12 coolant in from doing the head gasket/cambelt etc etc. really been trying to mint it back up and get back into it again, the wheels have took some feckin poilishing up  still not there just yet... oh aye, polished the standard tail pipe up too, took the yellowy zinc type colour off it,ill just have to keep on top of it. few vids. :) Click Click 2 2nd gear @ 30mph oh,and then i had to fit a new sunstrip as the old one went bye bye's  wonder how long this one will stay on  and attempted to get it on my mum/dads drive,,,can you say "stuck" that'll be all for now! neil.

alright guys n gals, havent been on here for a good while! apologies to all who have pm'd me(theres been a few!) but ive been pretty busy of late, and the corrado really got me down... anyway, early,bonnet/headlights/grill/slam panel/windscreen onto late car. yay or nay? got a feeling the bonnet/windscreen will be ok? and headlights wont go? cheers, neil. ps:the feckin g60 actually runs properly!  pps:forums looking really good!

ian,i have a gas aniliser me self :D can you tell me the correct procedure for this? sorry to be on such a crap/boring subject here :( neil.
-
cheers ant, yeah suppose its best to have everything set up and then see how it runs. 8) where you guys reccomend? neil.
-
ah cool i get it :D is there anyway they can be mapped on the road? or on the rollers? or is that not needed? any reccomendations for this? ideally someone who could set it up at the same time, gav mentioned andy walker to me,does he have the facilities? or wayne at chip wizards? cheers, neil.
-
fk grille, sorry its not the right colour car or a vr6,but its a debadged grill! with and without g60 badge, and also with original grill and black vw badge.
-
cheers ian,is it possible to have it mapped? or do you need a diffarent sort of chip?
-
it ticks over around 1200rpm and then settles pretty low, around 650rpm,but its lumpy too. when i unplug the bts the revs do drop so that seems ok,plus the idle screw is all the way in. i could turn it out,but the revs already hang around too much when driving.i think the isv is ok too. im just wondering about it needing another set up now or something? can my car be mapped? with the sns?
-
debadged grille without the vr badge does it for me 8) i was the same with the g,wanted to keep the g60 badge but didnt, looks cleaner i think.
-
very true m8  ill see what else i can dig out. edit:found a few pics, the red valver is my mums old one,was a minter! 8)
-
  well, took it for a propper hammering this morning  drove it like i used to drive when i was younger  the flat spot didnt show up once :) and it pulled cleanly all the way to 6kish(pointless winding it up that far i know),i kept slowing/into 2nd/winding it up into 4th and it was the same each time. but it runs lumpy and the revs are hanging around, when i let off the throttle it sort of carries on going/running on. what to do now? cheers, neil.
-
never miss the chance to post pics!
-
darren, its given me a crap lumpy tickover and the revs hang around when driving/changing gear. not sure if its cured the problem as i couldnt wind it up,need to get on a good long road tommorow and give it some stick. ive heard waynes name mentioned before,is he handy with the g60's? what ya reckon gav? or give andy a bell now ive got the new chip in? neil.
-
new chip finally turned up today. put it in and the tickover was crap, lumpy and low. didnt really get chance to wind it up on the way home though, feckin traffic. :x but the revs seemed to be hanging around if you know what i mean, felt crap tbh. ill see what its like tommorow. neil.
