    g60 charger belt

under both bottom pullies(crank and water pump) from the left it should go,under the plastic tensioner wheel. over the alternator. under the next plastic wheel. and up over the charger pully. no diagram, but hope thats easy enough to understand. :)
  2. new latest work, full head gasket kit and valves re seated with head skim. new quantum silva oil and g12+ coolant again! all new oil pressure senders and temp sensors. new voltage regulator, the old one was fecked! new vac pipes and then, carbon cannistor removed.
  3. small microswitch on the throttle body, you should hear it click if you pull the throttle cable slightly. dosnt mean its working though,a quick test with a leccy meter will tell you if it is or not.
  4. Have you chased your chip up ? a few times but i dont want to sound like im bugging people, last i heard new blank chips were coming in,and one was being burnt then tested for me.
  5. oh i see what you mean m8,the new ecu came with a standard chip. after the problem appeared i tried the standard chip and it ran the same :( but saying that, theres only the flat spot/hesitancy problem now... ill try the new chip and if no improvement, then stuff it ill try the standard one again. not sure if the ecu can be tested? thanks, neil.
  6. ahh whats done is done darren m8,ill just be happy when the new chip arrives to be honest, maybe it will sort the problem i have once and for all. ant,you dont trust me measuring? edit:above post edited, nope it wasnt g-werks. yeah i asked for a 68mm,but a simple check and phone call could have saved me money! i didnt know i already had a 68mm,im not the charger expert  suppose people run businesses in diffarent ways.
  7. Neil, it was a revelation after Clifford the big red dub.  i was glad to hear you say it sounded like it was in good nick gav, need that bloody wheel bearing sorting though. the place in york sounds cool 8) neil.
  8. Whats your thoughts on the pulley issue then niel... The way i see it is that you didnt think you had a 68mm pulley on there so you brought one and then relised you allready had one..."correct??" Why not sell one of them to recoup some of your outlay or if your not happy with the work/ parts that have been issued to you get on to the company that supplied them to you ?? ... correct,im just trying to learn here darren... ive asked a few times about where to measure pullys to find out what they are but had no reply,so i took the time to get pics and measurements. and i find it strange that an experienced company(not g-werks!),would remove a 68mm??? and fit a new 68mm??? without thinking eye up whats the point in this? the other will be sold, just wanted confirmation of what it is. as for the fumes, ive read a few times where people have said to just put the pipe in the inner wing. sorted now anyway 8)
  9. ahh bugger! may be the wrong part numbers then, gimme 2 secs and ill have a look, what year is it? neil.
  10. wcrado, havent tried running it without a chip,it wont run will it? kevin, ahh thought you were on here too m8,so the new lambda didnt make the gauge cycle correctly? mmmm. :? met gav today(h100vw) sound guy, think he just came for a drive in my rado though.  he confirmed im not mad and he felt the flat spot,it didnt do the hesitancy bit on part throttle till after he had left though.typical! gonna get the new chip in when the friggin thing arrives and see how it goes. in the meantime, gav gave me a number for a chap who im gonna have a chat with, and probably let him have a look at it. neil.
  11. i put the breather pipe into the airbox today after seeing gavin who's a sound guy 8) drilled a hole, sat a rubber grommet in,push pipe in,job done 8) any more thoughts on the pully issue? neil.
  12. i thought the same m8,its just to free up the big hole that the cc sits in i think, for more cold air?
  13. sounds good to me ian,cheers m8 :) neil.
  14. well im learning anyway  so no bad effect on the charger? sorry for asking, just like to know after having it rebuilt and wotnot.
  15. isnt it normally fed into the t-body though, after its been in the cc m8? edit:ian,ah so it shouldnt be vaccumised then,im guessing thats how the cc worked? to store it in a non vaccum type thing and to feed it in at its own pace or something? ill just stick it in the air box. 8)
  16. darren, did you get up out of the wrong side of the bed :flower: i do like the smell of optimax actually ,i mean is it good for the car? is it good to have fuel fumes going through the charger? or would it be better to link the pipe upto the throttle body maybe? and what about the feckin pullies! im a little annoyed tbh, spent £800 quid that i didnt have, looks like ive got the same size pully,a charger that makes the same boost,a chip that didnt work, still waiting for new one, still waiting for receipts for the work....
  17. no probs m8,mine was doing the same  just replaced em all though. edit:yours is a g60 aint it m8?
  18. ahh, will it be beneficial to route breather to airbox? what effect will it have? im thinking, hole with a rubber grommet to hold it in? ill do it tommorow 8) and darren are they both 68mm pullies then? :? so i didnt need to buy one?! billinjahg60, i did take a pic but it didnt turn out m8. :( if you look at the second to last attatchment its the bottom pipe in the plastic holder jobby. neil. :)
  19. ive just bought new pressure and temp senders, was a bit of a ball ache to find them. the oil temp one on the filter head, furthest from the block is vw only. 1ho 919 563.£15 quid! oil pressure, filter head, nearest block. vw number,068 919 081. low oil pressure switch, side of cylinder head. vw number,056 919 081d. neil.
  20. good stuff, ill check it out. and ill leave the physics stuff to you  neil.
  21. cheers kev 8) was wondering where the breather pipe actually went to? is it the filler neck? could i disconnect it there instead? neil.
  22. today i removed the cc,i just left the pipes in place incase it caused problems, blocked em off obviously though, and put the breather pipe through a hole in the inner wing. cant really say theres any difference at all, apart from :!: a strong smell of fuel :? is this normal? next, pullys :? i used to have a 70mm pully(blue anodised) and when the charger went away for full blend,i asked for a 68mm pully to be fitted. thing is,what size is it? :? please see pics and tell me what you think. old one measures:67mm on the ribbed bit and 70mm on the outside. new one measures:67mm on ribbed bit and 73mm on outside :? what the?
  23. cool stuff! 8) that chart looks impressive,on standard valves too 8) all the 16v heads are basically the same, just that the abf head has more meat inside to remove/shape 8)
  24. any pics or details on the spread sheets? im just interested to see the diffarences 8) in fact, pics of the head would be wicked :D
