yep,it definately sounds like the relay,as the switch is still providing the power by the sounds of it. and a relay from a later car will go straight in,and give you the timed intermittent :D 8) Neil.

thanks flusted m8 :D just got her one of these in pink! 8) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7752841580&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 Neil.

cool may i introduce Volksdevil - Vw/V.a.g enthusiasts forum It was basically set up by me,as i just fancied a crack at it. some idiots think its a spin off from cgti, which it isnt, its just another place for like minded people to chat and wotnot which is a good thing right? And me/the mods(who do a great job) will not allow any hierarchys to form(everyone is equal,no matter what car you own),if anyone has any suggestions, then throw them my way,ive just given everybody what they want in a forum and it seems to have worked well. Wether you own a bog standard 1.0 polo,or a full on show car,you are very welcome on there, even if you dont own a motor! its also a real relaxed atmosphere, mainly due to the members who have made it what it now is. theres a good few features on there too: live radio chat room arcade music video's background colour choice quick pic hosing via imageshack in replies default signature flashy pm box projects section alphabetically sorted 'how to' section members/group map help a volksdevil member section specific classifieds! whats it worth section over 18's chat section mental smileys Neil.

mmmm, can you grip the top of the piston with anything and lift it? will obviously have to watch the threads. also, when ive replaced with new shocks before.ive noticed they tend to be a little soft at the top of the movement, but if you fully compress them a few times before fitting it tends to stiffen them up a bit/lube the piston/seals... managed a pic, incase it helps m8 :) Neil.
-
thats the one m8 :D are they present on your slam? gonna have to shoot now (baby duties  ) would be cool if someone could reccomend trying my idea above,as like i say im no expert but i normally manage most things i havent tried before. good luck with it m8 8) Neil.

i think? i can see why its done, from an aesthetic(sp?) point of view...it keeps the flow of the wheel arch going through the tyre and into the phat rim. and obviously its verging on geekiness to the highest finicky level,so a lot of people wont get it,especially the 'mk3 fiesta driving' guy on the street. and then theres the can of worms about show/drive blah blah... Neil.

ok,not the best pic, they are on the slam panel. :D and are threaded,so you can turn them in/out. from the bottom left of pic. 5 mouse pointers across and one high
-
yep,i sorta remembered about them half way through writing  im just searching for a pic that may show them as my memory is sh1te  Neil.
-
maybe you had a slightly leaky throttle body pipe? or leaky gaskets on the inlet manifold/throttle body? Neil. :)
-
with regards to number 2 above... if you find the bonnet sitting too low/too high which then throws the gap off to the sides, then just tweak the rubber seats (highlighted blue above) Neil.
-
ok,heres what i would do,although im no trained body guy or anything  1a/remove both headlights/grill. 1/first you need the alignment right down either side. to do this you need the bonnet to sit flat at the front,no bonnet pins in the way,so they need screwing off. 2/now your bonnet will sit right down with no pins confusing the side alignment. lay the bonnet flat and check the lines against wings.(see my other reply if height is an issue) slightly loosen the bonnet hinge bolts (just enough to nudge it around, but dosnt move while you lay it down to check it) keep doing the above (nudging the bonnet on finger tight bolts) untill the alignment is good.and nip the hinge bolts up. 3/now for the front slam alignment, screw the pins back into the bonnet and just very slightly nip up the big lock nut. slowly lower the bonnet while crouching down and watching the pins align with the holes in the slam panel. maybe use a knocking stick to just nudge them into a rough alignment. now try and push the bonnet down fully/closed and walk around the sides and check the height of the bonnet. if it needs lowering/raising on one side adjust the rubber seat on the slam panel(or are they on the bonnet?) screw them in/out as needed. and if it isnt closing fully/correctly then adjust the pin in/out as needed. keep tweaking the rubber seats/pins untill happy, and then carefully open the bonnet for the final time and nip everything up in position. :D --------------------------------------------------------------- sommet like that anyway  im very tired and i dont handily have a corrado on my desk  Neil.
-
both were regarding the bonnet pins 8) if you have a look, you will see the nut that you loosen off sat against the bonnet.this then allows you to turn the pin either in or out which obviously will lower/raise the bonnet depending.(for closing purposes) and the pin will also slide around. Neil. sorry m8,i dont want to confuse things more than needed.
-
if i remember right, you undo the biggish nut(lock nut) and then turn the pins clockwise. may need some gland pliers etc to grip the end and turn.or i think theres a couple of flats in where the spring is to get a spanner on? Neil. :) edit,to your edit:possibly m8,they alter inwards/outwards,and slide around for alignment.
-
is the piston/strut,getting stuck somewhere? is it popping through at the top? not too familiar with the audi's me self... Neil.
-
oops, just seen your reply at same time as mine  damn! maybe adjust the bonnet pin on the bumped side,so it pulls it down?
-
i think a good idea would be to remove the pins on the bonnet? and then sit it right down to align it on the hinges? then when you put the pins back on(finger tight),you can tweak em (they slide around) to fit nicely? probably a crap idea  unless you are having trouble to get it to close/line up. Neil.

cheers guys 8) gavin, izzy is 4 days old now! :D looks like a trip to toys 'r' us is on the cards! Neil.

a heat shield above the back box dosnt ring a bell with me m8 :) Neil.
-
ive been trying to get one in there(back bench) but it just wont fit properly  and its not one that can go in the front either... any suggestions? :) cheers,Neil. ps:im sure there was a thread on this before, but i cant find it.
-
i think the red looks alright 8) wonder how it would look without the grill spoiler? and is that a g plate g60 with late front fogs etc,or am i veeeeery tired  Neil.

i seem to have a bit of a nack for bodywork 8) ive mainly used tins on small things like mirrors and wotnot, have used a gun a long time ago on a motorbike fairing and it was immaculate 8) the prep is very important, constantly feeling/looking for dips/dents etc...and if filling, you are best to get a good amount on and work it down with a wide sanding block to get the level right. i got bored one night and wafted a few coats over the rear 1/4 of the mk1,used a tin and didnt polish it afterwards or anything. Neil.
