In the oven on a low heat and keep removing it to see if the silicone type stuff is soft enough to let you (carefully and evenly) prise the lens off. Disclaimer:I can't be blamed for it breaking :lol: But seriously...this is the most common way to do it i think,if using a sharp blade around the seal won't release it. Neil.

Best to know the colour of the smoke to determing overfuelling - black or oil burning - blue. A compression test would probably give you a good idea as to whats causing it. With the mileage,and history id lean towards oil burning meself. Neil. :)

Meguiars hot rims is the dogs,spray on and watch crap literally run off before even washing the wheels. And despite what a lot of people think,its safe to use on polished wheels. Spray on wheels 1/2/3/4. And then wash/rinse straight away where you started,wheel 1/2/3/4. Supercharged has the right idea too 8) Use a polish,followed by a wax inside and out if minty enough...It ensures that you can remove the wheels at any time,wash them inside out,and still have a good finish. With brand new wheels,they will simply stay brand new inside and out if you polish/wax,then keep on top by removing/washing/rewaxing now and again. Neil.

Hi m8, Id be checking the cambelt timing out...G60's are known for snapping the crank bolt which can really balls things up. Give us a shout if you need help,checking how the marks should line up. Neil.

Good to see a post like this... Kind of makes a point to the people who say that classic concours cars only used at weekends etc,should be used properly,and that they are pointless. If all of them were,then we wouldn't be able to appreciate the minters that are out there somewhere...

Motor of the month is back :D Keep an eye on the site where the motor of the month will be featured. Neil.

I removed the wheels last week,washed/polished and waxed them inside ans outside...The previous wash/polish/wax did me proud,the crap just rinsed off to reveal brand newness :D I then spent a full day doing the following: Meguiars scratch-x - Twice. Meguiars paint cleaner once. Meguiars polish - Twice. SmartWax once. All trim/tyres done with Megs tyre gel. Wheels polished with Megs step 2,and then waxed with SmartWax. All interior vacumed out,and spruced up quickly with Meguiars quik detailer. Got meself to Volksdevil North West...Few pics. 8)

I miss mine too...its a bare shell now :( I paid 5k for the black one a good few years ago at gti international...sounds cheap now for some reason,but at the time i was crapping meself as i didn't intend coming away with a mk1 and a bank loan so stuffed it into my dad to keep it in the family :lol:

But i do have a real passion for mint standard cars...Evertime im up at my dads i have to open the garage door to reveal the concours 50k mile mk1 sat there on its carpeted floor and with its central heating :lol: Open the door now and again to smell the newness and feel the tightness of the doors shutting etc...and drool over the dash/door cards that have never seen silicone,and the seats that really are as new. Superb. 8) Nut case :lol:

Neil.Do they have a tiny hole on the side somewhere for a key? Otherwise...best bet is to have a tyre place remove the tyre/chop the valve off and replace really. :( Neil.

Strange one... Maybe the map sensor has died? or duff chip/map like you say. Sorry i can't be of more help...Although there is an ecu in the classifieds. Neil.
