When buying new rear discs for a G60,do they come with the abs rings fitted or not? And are the rear wheel bearings pressed in on the back? I know the outer bearing is loose obviously, just unsure on the rear one? Cheers,Neil.
-
Well here we are... :) Trial fitted a disc today thats had around 4.5mm machined off it. Cheers to Manny for the help 8) Gonna go for 6mm off new discs i think... Before: After:

Would a difference in length have any effect at all? Im just wondering how you go on when you replace the lambda with a bosch one which has longer wiring? Ive recently rewired my loom on the car,and i chopped out a good 6" of wire that was just left on for ease of getting to it. Its nearer standard length now id say, could probably go shorter...but it seems to have eased my backfiring problem...which dissapears once the wot switch is taped up. Anyway, any effect at all?

Cheers guys :D Few pics from a local meet we had... Excuse my m8 in the bonnet shot

The rear brake pressure regulator - Adjust once lowered?
Riley replied to Riley's topic in Drivetrain
Cheers guys, Will snap the bolt off where the elongated hole is (Its tight and feels like it will snap) so ill buy new bolt/spacer/roller/washer/nut...and then adjust it just so there is a little tension on it. As it is currently, its as though my rear brakes are sticking on slightly? -
Will let you know Rob,one has been done today :D Can't test em for around a week though...maybe. Neil.

Cheers m8,manny was asking this on behalf of me/him for some spare passat rear discs i have. Gonna machine them to gain some clearance for the 9x16's on the back, but the faces need cleaning up too. Will buy new ones after testing these hopefully :D Not for a week though...just had a needle in my eye at hospital, cant drive for a week. :(

Thinking about having a m8 machine the rear discs to get the wheels sat in a little more. Had a quick look today, and i reckon 5mm would be safe...plenty of thread left,in fact more than enough from what i saw. What ya reckon? Neil.

How do guys :) My rear brakes aren't looking too good :? With a biggish drop, what needs doing to get the pressure reg working as normal? Had a quick look today, and it seems there's an elongated hole where the spring mounts to the rear beam via a bolt. A case of sliding this to the highest it will go? As the car sits at the moment, the spring is very tight, and the pressure reg closed? i think? Cheers,Neil.

Nope,no problems m8...Shouldn't be as you are just taking the wire off the now redundant blue sender and popping it on the 2nd pole of the vdo sender. The other pole is where you will run your gauge from. Neil. :)

Mines always been the same...Even after a new correctly adjusted cable. Wonder if its a worn plastic? bush or something on the pedal? Neil.

Liberally stick some meguiars paint cleaner on the spots (a nice lump) ...let it sit there for a minute and then spread/rub in straight lines over it with a microfibre/foam applicator. Let it just start hazing (not totally dry) and then remove with a good microfibre cloth. It may stain, and look obvious compared to the rest of the paint...but a few goings over the whole car with the paint cleaner should bring it all back up. Neil.

Where did you have clearance issues m8? Can just see mine here replacing the low pressure sender...Red wire going to it.

Cheers guys :D Was stood there with the sand paper thinking...What the fecking hell am i doing?

 New rims...not exactly what i wanted, but im gonna make em how i want em! :? 4x New borbet a in 9x16 et15. 16 New wheel bolts, and center cap key/spigot rings. Then bought 2x sets of flat centers...Also with new bolts/key. Bolt in anodised silver valves Got some 215/40/16 toyo t1-r's in near new condition for £120 quid too. 8) Erm...Masking tape Prepped and ready! Painted the first one...wasn't happy with it as you could see sanding marks even though i got a good few coats on. :thumbd: This was after a bodyshop recommended prepping with 600 grit which i thought sounded a touch rough. So i flatted it off again with 800 grit...thought it looked quite good matt black! This is where things went horrobly wrong :( I repainted the wheel and noticed straight away that something wasn't right. The finish was all crazed and looked like a hammered finish, propper mess :( I heard that you can't repaint over hammerite? Ive heard this in the past before now too.Dunno if this was the problem...Was gutted at this point thinking id just ruined a set of brand new wheels, got a few quotes for people to do them but it was the price of a full refurb which i couldn't afford after buying them in the first place! No pics of the mess as i ended up just flatting it again! And repainted for 3rd time here! One of the sets of flat centers prepped. All four painted! along with center caps! Far from perfect, but just happy to go for the look i wanted. New richbrook black/polished antitheft valve caps to go on the richbrook metal valve stems. And fitted along with tyres! Bit more stretched than i wanted! Stuck a sticker on one of em,need some more... And fitted. Overall im not mega happy with the paint job on em,but i think ive got the look i wanted for now. Neil.

Easy as pie to wire up Rob :D Check This linky out :D Ps: New rims going on at around 3pm today hopefully! Been hard work and a long time coming but can't wait! :D :D :D

Ahh cool, ive run a fresh wire now but it was bugging the sh|t outta me
-
Where is the other end of this wire m8? I thought it was originally intended for the oil pressure gauge, but not sure where it leads to in the car? Neil.

Repair sunroof, problem half way through........now with pic

Good luck sorting em...Never slide mine in fear of it breaking! Agreed! Only ever tilt mine to try let hot air escape outta the car! -
Relaces the low pressure (blue) on the side of the head where the charger feed line is. 8) Neil.
-
Aye,i did originally go with that idea mrB...Still got the center console knocking about somewhere. Just wanted a bit of trimming in the dash to clear the fixing screws, and i never got around to it. Leon, that looks good m8,gonna start tidying the engine bay soon...it would have normally been minted by now...but after all the problems im only just getting around to it  Need to get the new bits done too...can't wait to sort the new front end and the new brake horse adding bits :D
-
Tis the oe cover for the bolt 8) Once you break it off,you kinda think ahhh thats how it was held on
-
Those black plastic covers just tend to break off.I think they have a pin in them but im not sure you can actually get too it! Hardly ever see them to be honest. Neil.
-
If i was changing the lump,id definately go for a fancy carb'd 2.0 16v with steel internals etc...would love that! :D But the lump is staying and aye,the rest of the car is too...i know what ya mean m8. Black anodised/polished rocker cover and a few red anodised bolts/nuts. I went and ballsed the rocker cover up though after washing under bonnet :( (didn't aim water at it,it just lost a bit of the dye)
-
Cool, will just try giving it a blowie  With the air line of course 8)
