Aye, I timed mine up at the flywheel the other day...it showed the crank pully as being out so i put a new mark on it inline with the fly... Got it bang on 6deg btdc, definately pulls better on the motorway. Problem persists though... Neil.

Supercharged... Sh|tter m8,but i am sort of glad that someone else is experiencing a similar problem :!: There's a chappy on the dubforce forum having a similar issue too! It actually made me ill at one point...id be sat on the pc with eyes half shut looking through wiring diagrams etc, then id spot sommet and shoot off upto the unit other end of town. This was at 2-3am half the time  I can't believe how long its been going on for :? Propper p|ssed off with it now, just tired of thinking about it,so i might just sell it as it is :? Aye,its mint m8. :(

Damn...doesn't sound too good m8. :( Definately give it a compression test though,it could possibly show something up. Can you see where the oil is coming from? Is it the feed line to the charger? It could 'possibly' be the reason for the light coming on! And it may be worth whipping the sump off and checking the oil pump pick up for crap...It may just be blocked or a tired oil pump. Neil.

What a load of When are people going to stop believing all the bullsh|t and hype...The human race accounts for a super small percentage of pollutants compared to the main source... The fecking earth itself.

Possibly whats left of the white spirit vapour that caused the pinking? Id run it while listening out for it,and if it continues then start looking into possible causes as i think the knock sensor should pick up on it. Neil.

Id just advise caution on ebay.de... I took all the precautions i could, and still got seriously ripped off.Received some wheels that were seriously bent. They had around 30 weights on one wheel alone... Neil.

Hi Dave, If you are after a 'wetter' look...dont be tempted to try and achieve it all in one go...especially by hand. If you have the megs scratch-x...get the best from this product by using it continuously over a week or two period with careful washing inbetween. By minimising light refracting scratches, you are going to get the most from each product from thereon in and the end result WILL be better. Same goes for the polish...its worth using a good few times in a wash/polish routine rather than waxing straight away. Basically get the best from each product before thinking about waxes etc...And don't be worried about not having any 'protection' on there...as you are preparing the paint, and preperation is better than just throwing a wax on in the long run. Neil.

Cheers guys...I think i do want rid of it.Just need it sorting first... Its just been soooo unreliable, ive only covered 11k miles in it since ive had it (2.5 years) and its supposed to be an everyday car. Ive spent more time in the g/friends lupo and my old sportline with it forever being off the road  Ive emailed vince to see what he can do,hopefully i wont have to leave the car with him as he is quite a distance from me. Today ive used one of the colourtune spark plugs...each cylinder is burning blue with the odd flash of orange. All the plugs are evenly burning, slightly sooty. Im just so p|ssed off with keep having to think about it,and trying to sort it.Its consuming my friggin life man.

Aye,see what ya saying Leon... Thing is...i have no income  Im in a lot of debt...so ive been holding back as long as possible before taking it somewhere.I am probably going to just take it to stealth though regardless... But i don't want to be leaving it anywhere really...Just want someone friendly to have a look/listen and give their opinion on possible cause. And then take it from there...labour charges? etc etc...i need to know a rough idea of cost with not having any 'cash' so to speak. Neil.

Aye,the shell is solid...I bought it for that reason really...wasn't fussed about what engine it had. But if im honest im not a massive fan of the G60...especially after owning this. Everything works except the spoiler is intermittent now and again.Even the sunroof works fully as yet! Its never wanted for anything, and its always had more than needed when it comes to replacing parts/servicing etc Its just this ongoing problem thats grinding me down,i dont know how ive stuck with it for so long tbh.
-
I really dont know what to do with my corrado :( Some probably know (and probably sick of hearing about) the problem ive had with it for over 12 friggin months :( ...But it seems NOBODY can help. As a last ditch effort to sort it,im gonna possibly have vince at stealth look at it...and maybe rolling road it? to try and diagnose the problem so that i can fix it myself...depending what it is. Ive no confidence in the problem being found but its worth a shot. If the problem isn't found, then i want rid,or i did initially. But then ive got a couple of valver lumps sat here,1800 and 2.0 also a set of 45 webers that i bought brand new and ran on the mk1 gti for a short time. But,is going from original G60 to 2.0 16v on 45's a bad idea? Surely it will devalue the car.But at least it WILL be reliable and responsive without any hassle. Dunno...just thinking aloud really. Neil.

Update:Not a good one as per usual! Timing mark was still jumping all over the place...started talking to a m8 about the problem im having (had for over 12 months now  ) and i started unwrapping the loom across the bulkhead to look for obvious damage...all looks really tidy. After this...i double checked the ignition timing...but the mark was suddenly stable as stable can be! :? Perfectly still! and bang on 6deg at 2.5k rpm. Anyway, revved it a few times and yep.Its still farting
-
No worries Dan. And cheers m8,problem still not sorted on mine :( Had the same issue for over 12 months and nobody can help as its a strange one...needs to be looked at really. Neil.
-
New dizzy! Ive swapped the leads over also...Ive just finished servicing it,and fitting the new water pump.Ran out of water up at the unit though  Will be going back up after hollyoaks  to play with the timing. Cheers guys, any other idea's for the mark jumping about are appreciated. Neil.
-
Yep.Its where ya hook a c/o machine up to it :) Neil.
-
Cheers guys... Im just about to pop out to the stealership and pick some plugs up! (68 quid i might add  ) Also picking up water pump and oils/filters etc etc, will have another go at the timing and hopefully get it advertised. Neil.
-
Haven't tried another,as this one is new and id had it on my mates afterwards and it was spot on :? Im sure i read somewhere that if you try setting the ign timing while on boost (may be at 2.5k with 68mm pully?) then it will use a map on the chip altering the timing? Sommet like that anyway
-
Aye :D Up to 80deg oil temp at least, without the fan running and bts unplugged. Holding rpm at 2.5k,but the mark on the pully is jumping backwards and forwards...done a mates a bit back and that was super stable and smooth.
-
Cheers for the help Steve :) Ps:Your old g60 was sold on not so long ago...Still looked well. 8) Neil.
-
Just thought... Is the mark jumping around because im holding rpm at 2.5k on a 68mm pully?
-
Nice one Steve. I think the o- comes first on mine! :? Will double check tommorow. And just to make sure ive got my head around this... Setting ign timing, using gun at 'o' pointed at the first mark on flywheel. This would be the same as setting gun to 6deg and pointing at the second mark basically? Neil.
-
Aye  Steve! Cheers m8...Are those marks definately the right way around? Today i set the static timing via the camshaft/flywheel and i think ive gone and used the - on the flywheel. Jesus these things confuse me!
-
Does this sound right guys? Ive been using the crank pully to set the ignition timing...but its been hard work because the mark on the pully is all over the place, jumping backwards and forwards all the time. Earlier,i set the static timing using the cam and the flywheel, this put the mark ive been using on the crank pully well out...probably a tooth or there abouts... So...Question is. Was the reason for the jumping about through the ecu trying to adjust the timing or something? or would it not do this while setting the ign timing? I can't check if its sorted as yet because im in the middle of fitting a water pump. Cheers,Neil.
-
Guys...2 quick questions. If im setting the static timing using the flywheel and cam,do i align the cam to the o- on the flywheel? Secondly,if im using an adjustable timing light for the ign timing at the flywheel. When the gun is set to 6deg on the dial, which mark am i using on the flywheel? The -? Im hoping the above may solve the problem with my corrado! :D And a pic of the slash on flywheel as originally requested. Neil.
-
Ok cool. 8) Am i right about the marks being out then if i leave it as it is currently, and THEN set ign timing with flywheel? Just getting confused... So if i pop a driver in number 1,find roughly tdc,and then check which mark (crank or flywheel) is nearest to lining up... and then set my cam to which ever it may be? Lastly, where is the exact alignment on the cam? having the slash on the backplate anywhere in the middle of the two dots? :? Neil.
