Soooo lookng forward to seeing this finished. -
Yep, I've done that as well. Don't worry you're not the only one. Had that little voice in my head going "whats that noise then?" when I switched my fogs on.
-
Very true, my G60 has late bumper, bonnet and wings, but obviously an early interior.
-
Think my G60 is 041, so plain not metallic.
-
Daren't add it all up properly, but around £10k in 3 years. Gulp.
-
Haven't taken it on any journeys long enough for it to get hot enough yet. But when I do I'll report back about it.

Just fitted a FK grill (thanks to Darren and the G-Werks boys fo that). Must admit do like the look of it. Also set up a fan to work with my oil cooler. Running it in parallel with the radiator fan so it'll come on when needed. May sort out a manual override as well at some point... Just used a 6 inch computer fan at the moment, but if it works alright I'll fit a stronger one.

Don't bother with G-Max - I had them on mine and hated every minute of it. I'd second Walesy advice about checking the Weitec kits. Very good by all opinions - contact g-man on here or give G-Werks a ring directly as I think they do them.
-
Ooooh, twist my arm. I'll have one of these as well...
-
I've done one - located at the top of my boot lid. Check out my sections in the members gallery. It was easy enough to do, but took a bit of time. Stops the Chelsea tractors from running over me when they can't see my low down brake lights.

Yep, should be boosting to around 1800 with that sort of setup, so sounds like a poorly charger. One thing to bear in mind though, the MFA pressure measurements aren't always hugely accurate. To be on the safe side I'd recommend a trip to G-werks as well.
-
Yep, can understand the need for one in a car with a big stereo system. Probably not much use in mine then.....

Great car, especially with a few basic tweaks (SNS antilag chip, and flowed charger). Even those 2 mods make a huge difference to them. They are quite easy to tweak, with flowed head and front mounted intercooler giving them the potential for going over 200bhp and retaining very high torque figures. Supercharer servicing is something that needs doing, but as mentioned above, only every few years and that all depends on how hard it is driven. I love it - the noise is fantastic. As with all old cars be prepared to spend money on it, and lots of it. Be prepared for large insurance costs being 20 years old.

I tried to do mine red (unsuccessfully). Most of the LED's are surface mounted on the circuit board and the buttons can't be bought separately. If you find a way to get red illumination please let me know. There was someone on the talkaudio forum who replaced all the LED's as well with ones from his mobile phone. That's dedication.

I have some heater box foam from when I replace some bits under the dash of mine (if it's the stuff with adhesive on one side you're after). PM me if you're interested.
-
Thanks L100PY_H, nice simple mod to do - even I could manage it, and it made a huge difference to the look of the dash.

Yep, looks really nice....

Finally got round to starting the list of jobs I have for 2007. After buying sat nav at christmas and having a phone mount I was ending up with too many wires, so bought another cigarette lighter and fitted that in the shelf under the glove box. Now no need to have wires coming out of the front of the dash. Hurrah. Also fitted a Passat centre sunvisor and some of the new Philips Xtreme power bulbs. They even came with free sidelight bulbs although after taking the picture I noticed they were the wrong fitting. However one phone call later and right ones were dispatched. The new bulbs are good so :thumbleft: Only another 473 things left on the list now.....
-
I've seen loads of analogue voltmeters in cars, but has anyone here fitted a digital one?? Seem a nice one of the bay Clicky but I'd be intrigued to hear anyones opinions of analoge vs digital or even whether the find them useful.
-
That is a really nice piece of work g60ff :thumb right: . Looks really smart.
-
Good luck with them Yan, hopefully you'll see the same improvemetns I did.
-
Didn't occur to me to have a look for the Megalight bulbs and see what they are. One thing to kep in mind is that my old ones were atleast 3 years old, so it isn't a true side by side comparison. Hopefully others will start receiving theirs soon as well.
-
Humn, hope not. Were you old ones uprated? Don't know - they came with the car and are atleast 3 years old. They are marked as GE MegaLight Plus if that is any help, although even with the headlight loom they weren't that bright. These new ones are a definate improvement.
-
Yep, I've had some through and fitted them. They are definately brighter than my old ones, but 80%??? Not sure. Also I had one blow as soon as it was switched on. The company I bought them from happily sent me another one, however makes you wonder if they've let them out without enough testing (that was what the delay was for, as they were still doing testing on them).
