  1. Only problem is that 24 starts tonight at 9!!!!
  2. I'm using Racepower Motorsport at the moment. All I can say is that it seems the work they produce is very good - particularly on the bottom end!!!! Jim is the main guy there and has been doing it for 50 years!!!! Yes he is in his 70's Be careful though of who you get in touch with as there are a few goings on at the moment as they are splitting awayfrom an ex partner - they changed name temporarily to GP Speed Equipment but I believe are now Race Power Motorsport Ltd. They are also moving premises to an amazing new place in with the BTCC!!!! They also will work with any cam you want to use as I wanted to use specifically the Schrick Assyemtric in mine and they said tehy would work with that. They really do know there stuff. I would give Jim a call direct before you go down to make sure where they are. His telephone number is 07956 472676 and just let him know that I gave you his mobile!
  3. They also use Diesel lumps for their 2 Ltr conversions. Use Race Power Motorsport. Jim is far better - actually probably one of the best there is. And when the guy there doing the head broke a bearing cap, replaced it with a machined out one, but still the camshaft siezed. Rang him up and explained, no excuses were given they instead accepted full responsability and sorted it all!!!! Ok they are a bit slow but I can live (just) with that!!!!
  4. Synta Silver IS written on the bottle - and whats more it's in a SILVER bottle!!!
  5. Eeeeek - Doesn't sound good fella!!! Possibly a seal gone on the damper??
  6. I have heard that the PG block is pretty damn good!!!! Along with alot of parts that go on the G60 - The rods are pretty much indestructatble, as are the drive shafts etc etc etc
  7. Understeer I think you'd sort by uprating the antiroll bars to an eibach or similar set. Upgrading suspension to a decent set of coilovers etc etc Torquesteer I don't think you can so anything about as it is caused be the two driveshafts being different lengths IIRC!!!
  8. RUBBISH!!!! Bhp is sooo misleading! you can have a 1000bhp but if you have no torque it's all wasted! I've seen plenty of cars that quote high bhp but are beaten by lower "power" cars because the torque is better. Diesels are a prime example - how many times have you been beaten off the lights by a 150bhp diesel because the torque is better!!!!!
  9. I actually quite like the styling in a funny way! It sort of suits the power!
  10. Which one to sell........Hhhhmmmmmmmmm....... All together now................................................. SELL THE PUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Why what are you going to put through it??? Bearing in mind I'm aiming to put somthing around 300bhp through mine with V good torque levels and it will handle that no problem!!
  12. I looked at one of these for mine with all the mods I'm doing - but the problem with these clutches are that they are either on or off - no in between so it can be awkward! Plus the VR6 clutch is more than capable so thats what I chose!!!
  13. Actually I stayed with 8V rather than the 16V conversion as from variosu conversations from various engine builders and tuners they all felt that much better torque could be achieved from an 8V. And lets face it - it's all about the torque!
  14. If the second policy is a classic policy then they don't take use no claims, it's based on the car. So it works out the same as if you had full no claims basically!
  15. Near the Dartford Tunnel sort of way - Southam IIRC In the Very aptly named Gasoline Alley!
  16. I use Chris Knott who do a 5000 mile ltd use classic policy. They knwo about ALL my mods and is under £500 a year! Not too bad I think when you consider what I've done to mine!!!
  17. iow_corrado_g60 I really would give Jim at GP Speed a ring - he's more than helpful and will be able to tell you all you need to know and give you an idea on price. GEt it from the horses mouth is my opinion!!! He won't asked you to sign anything. And tell him that I said to give him a call!! My names Sam for you to mention to him!
  18. Personally I think the person in the middle lane is worse. The middle and outside lane are OVERTAKING lanes. If the lane to teh left of you is clear then you should be in that lane. I would say it is FAR more dangerous to go from the inside lane cross 2 lanes to overtake someone in the middle lane then swerve all the way back into the inside lane!!!! (ok maybe swerve is a little exaggerated but you get my drift!!!)
  19. Nightmare Job. Depends on how close to 2tlr you want to go. Henny's 1940cc is probably the easiest spec to get done compared to cost. I've just gone to 2021cc but 6mths later and a VERY big bill and we're almost complete! To go to 2021cc you not only need custom made pistons - you also need new crank, rods, oil squirters need to be moved, extra cc's had to be taken out of the head as well as the large dishes in the pistons to get the right compression ratio and alot of other work and then a custom ecu map! It's a large bill to get it that far - plus the guy that did mine and also did Henny's conversion did say he wouldn't want to do another 2021cc, he always recommends the 1940cc! However if you want to talk to him I would highly recommend him, I know we ahd a few issues with mine but they retified them straight away with no arguement! GP Speed Equipment (formally Race Power Motorsport!) Only speak to Jim as he is the expert (been doing it 50 years!) Tel 07956 472676
  20. I retrimmed my grey shelf in a black acousic carpet, both top and underside. If you take your time like I did you can produce results that I personally think look better than original and you retain the shape of the shelf. Only cost about £25 to do!
  21. Also Yandards, as I'm not at home and by the time I get home I'll have forgotten to look it up - Can you tell me the part no. for my fuel pump. I have an early shape car but I only have a single fuel pump, so I think that us the same as the late isn't it!???
  22. I did actually put G60 in the title but it seems to have missed it off! Mean't difference between early and late G60
