  1. I did look at removing the rear seats when I put this in and just losing the boot section and stripping it out and lining it to look good, or to remove the seats and section it off with MDF. TBH Though the seats don't actually weight that much and as I would need to line it all out with MDF to get it to look nice, the amount of MDF I would have had to use would have weighed FAR more than teh weight of the rear seats.
  2. I dont think any came with a manual sunroof. Only without a sunroof! As for using a Mk2 mech, not sure but the C's doors are much bigger than that of a Mk2 so don't know if that would make a difference!
  3. YOu can buy an almost 180deg elbow however you are far better off using a Rallye U-Bend. I think you'll find Darren sells them for about £90 IIRC! Look on my members gallery as I have pics of how I did mine on there!
  4. I've kept them in as I need to retain the use of the boot. I thought about taking them out and boarding it all but retaining the rear seats is a better option for me!!
  5. Powdercoat it then polish it!!! It's really the only way that won't come off. You can mask off those areas that you want to polish. And in fairness wouldn't cost much more than painting it, bearing in mind that you need to use possibly an etch primer first (which isn't cheap!!!) then the paint! Powdercoat all the way!!!
  6. Well finally after working on it all bank holiday weekend I have got it all in, except for the B pillars which are just waiting to be trimmed. Made up mounting brackets for the inertia reels to mount to the floor pan under the rear seats, secured using stress plates under the car. All powder coated black. Wired in the inertia reels. Modified rear door cards to account for the roll cage. Refitted seats, secured teh harnesses. Also retrimmed the headlining and sunroof cover in grey Alcantara although seem to have managed to break my sunroof in the process - NOT HAPPY, especially as Im now not sure if it will come out again due to the Roll cage!!! Anyway take a look!!
  7. Inertia Reels now work, Headlining gone back in the car although I seem to have broken the lift for the sunroof lining :( Back seats have started to go back in - just waiting for the rear door cards to be modded and go back in and the new modded B pillars to go in!!!! Oh and fitted an Alpine Ai Interface for my ipod!
  8. No pics but I removed mine when fitting the FMIC - not seen any side effects!
  9. John Mitchell from JMR - Forum name 16VG60 although doesn't frequent the forum anymore!!
  10. Started to fit harnesses. Made up brackets to mount the inertia reel onto and had them powder coated and fitted into car. Pulled out the headlining ready to trim that this evening!
  11. By any wild chance does anyone have a sewing machine suitable for doing some stitching on a small amount of leather to trim my B Pillars near the midlands?????? I desperatly need to get these finished VERY QUICKLY in order to get teh car back together and ready for Spring Festival as not far away!!!! But cant get this little amount of stitching done in time!! ANYONE???
  12. Someone I know earns about £14K per year, yet has a credit limit on his card of £12K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I've been to the makers of Vinylkote as they are only round the corner from me and they have colourmatched the Alcantara I am using and the paint will be ready for me tomorrow!!!
  14. My car used to have a light grey interior and I didnt change the headlining. Thats a biege sort of colout as the headlining is different to the rest of the interior!
  15. I am about to retrim my headlining but obviously need to recolour the sunvisors, as I am not capable of trimming them in the alcantara I have I took them to a pro and they said that they wouldnt be able to do it either. So as the visors are a sort of vinyl, what coudl I use to cover them without it all flaking off like paint would???? I need to get them a light grey colour!
  16. Love the way they music is all mean and moody gangsta rap and then we see you walk around the car filming to reveal a baby seat in the front!!!
  17. And you take the mickey out of mine!!!!
  18. Fitted new cage!!! Retrimmed A & C pillarsin leather, need pro help on B pillars as need stitching. Just need to make few mods to get everything else back in and harnesses fitted!
  19. Do modify your 4 branch manifold so that the final diameter is bigger and then place in a Ilok Race Spec flexi joint after it to improve flow but.............. Don't forget to put in a joint in between so that when your gear change cables break you can get the shifter box out to replace them1!!!!!! Cutting through the thick high grade stainless was NOT easy and did take a long time and wreck alot of blades on the air saw!
  20. That part can be replaced. I actually have one of those somewhere if you can give me a couple of days to dig it out!!!!!
  21. I wouldnt worry too much about the power loss if I was you. Too much emphasis is placed on bhp whereas the real story is told in the torque. And 192lb/ft is a very respectable figure!!!! That comes from the Big Valve head and Cam that stevemac put in!!!!
  22. Wayne at Chipwizards did my live remap when I went to 2Ltr, he also did Hennys. Can definatly vouch for him
  23. But in the case of this guys Astra, we're apparently content to look down our noses at what we consider to be an inferior car? I think the point is Jim, that we all look down our noses at other peoples opinions and likes and desires, thats what makes us all human. Someone could have a Veyron and guaranteed someone would look down their nose at it even if the majority of us would sell our entire family to own one. If we didn't have these views the world would be a very boring place. The fact that we all own and love Corrados is why we are here and therefore it's almost natural for us to poo poo other cars! I'm sure that you'll get the same on astra forums poo pooing us and someone defending us!!!! It's life - and the forum gives us a medium to do so! At the end of the day there is never any malace in it and it's only natural and healthy to do so! Yes we consider it inferior! But that's in our eyes and we wear corrado tinted glasses!!! Too me it's an astra and no matter how perfect the paintwork is and how much it shines and gleams at me it'll never turn my head as its just another astra!
