Looks great. Are the handles genuine VW ones? I had a mk3 golf 16v years ago and found that VW did chrome ones for the convertible, so swapped them. They do feel better than plastic
-
You've been busy. I like the little chrome touches. A work of art for the parcel shelf straps 👍

I had changed my leads and that's when I got the poor tickover issue. Originally I thought they were faulty, but maybe they just wanted a new coil pack to be happy 😂 It is nice to have it running and starting, thankfully. That's an impressive length of ownership 👍
-
Changing my coilpack helped with a bad time I went through with my poor tickover. But could be a lot of other items...from cam sensor, crank sensor etc. When my car was warm, it became a pig to start. I put a one way valve at the pump, but did end up replacing my pump. I think they are tired at this age. That cured my starting issue, but pretty sure Matt on here did something else. It's a money pit, but still a lovely one. Good luck Cressa

The Official Corrado Campaign thread (where are they now)
Cressa replied to James.'s topic in General Car Chat
NOOOO WAYY. is that the holy grail I see? -
Can you post a pic of the filter that you need?
-
All I can think is that we have alternatives and that's a good thing. Flow/pressure, bring it on. An increase in pressure will hopefully give an increase in flow and that's a good thing for the Corrado version. Good luck people. I changed mine and never had a warm start issue since thankfully

Bargain for Bosch, good find 👍

Gutted for you that this is being such a pain. Mine did come in a Lucas box if I remember correctly and the seller did confirm it being 4 bar. Totally understand you deciding on the Vemo.
-
It looks the part, but I cant ge 100% sure. Trying to look back at posts on the forum is a bloody nightmare and isn't helping. Can they confirm if it is a 4 bar pump? If so, go for it and good luck

Have you got this out and about yet? I have been enjoying mine with no running issues, but now hear a bump at the rear off side. May just be the junk in the boot or toolkit unsecured. The old exhaust or suspension... I just need some time to get underneath her. 🫣

Looks great. Must have been nice to get out for the drive on a lovely day. I was going to go to this, but work got in the way unfortunately

I did the alpine speaker swap. They are a good fit and do thr job 👍

Nice looking motor. How's the coil pack, for the misfire?
-
That does look a great example. Well done with getting that beauty. What bodykit does it have? I think Corrados should have left the factory with sideskirts. Your car does sit well and look great with the wheels. Although they could be a pain to keep clean! Someone has clearly spent a lot of time and money with that car and interior, so I wish you all the best in enjoying it 👍👍

What coating did you have the slam panel painted with?
-
Sounds like you may have sorted it. I never changed this in solving my issue, but hopefully this will help someone. 👍
-
Did you sort this?
-
Well done in finally sorting it 👍🤞

A project is a project, so well done in saving her and goodluck with the future. It will be a great learning curve with highs and lows. The forum may not be as busy as it was years ago but people still drop in. Advice and helpful knowledge is free. Yes, your car looks on its ar#e but take it on as an area at a time. What you have done so far looks good so keep it up. Spend some money on lots of wire brush attachments for a drill or angle grinder and make it have it..... Bare metal always looks better and you can see what you are up against. Then choose to primer it for protection before the welder gets to it, or if it scrubs up okay, get some bilt hamber on it. GOOD LUCK and dont add up all the receipts you will collect 🤣
-
I think it is self explanatory when you get to the old one. Like Matt I took mine out and repaired it a few years ago so not the best memory either. It's in an awkward position, but was an easy fix just by soldering the old one. Nice to have new though 👌
-
Chris, your attention to detail, patience and capability in getting to this standard is fantastic. I am in awe and enjoy seeing this standard of workmanship. Keep it up mate, absolutely fantastic 👍

Just to add to the cam sensor idea, it may be the solution. I had changed my pump and one way valve, yet the car was still SORN so I was only warming it up running in the garage. After this I had an issue with fumes from the back of the engine and the little rectangular box went BOOM. I changed my Cam sensor and the coil pack which got it running fine again. Now on the road it has no issues. So one of those things solved my issue. Good luck with it, you will sort it 👍

It's always nice to get a big Corrado present 🎁

Definitely needs a wash 😂
