  1. Your best bet would be sticky back felt which can be bought from any hobby shop. It will do the same as the foam which is to create a seal but allow for movement without causing rattle noise.

  2. I found that the bolts in the scutle are easier to get to if the wiper motor and assembly are removed cos it gives more room to get your hand in. Goldfinger has got a good guide for dash removal with pics that show where all the screws go.

  3. Is there a small black plastic cover with a white arrow on yours? If so move it 90°and you'll see its covering the Allen key manual release fitting

My motor hasn't got one so I guess that's the case with all early motors.

  4. Is it possible that a sensor thinks the sun roof is open so when the closure of the alarm kicks in it tries to shut the roof. This is based on a guess that the motor spins one way to bring it backwards and the opposite way to close it which would be the same direction to tilt it. Might explain why it won't go back cos it thinks it's already open. Just a thought.

  5. oh no! that sounds well harsh. I felt miffed with a tiny bit of surface rust by heater matrix hole :(

I thought the matrix had gone and that's why the carpets were wet turns out the matrix is fine and very possibly been changed before but. Then I notice a spot of rust in the bottom corner of the screen so removed the screen (which was cracked anyway) and found the above.

  6. Took mine out yesterday and found 2 screws which I don't think are on the guide. They are in the lower section. Can take pics later. Also if anyone needs pics let me know and I'll take em for you will dash is out. Glad I took out dash as found rust which wasn't able to see until dash was out. No wonder the carpets were soaked.

  7. Oh and mechanism should be fine... It was just randomly blowing the fuse when it went up on a run

You never know what you find until you start to pull it apart. I have striped the interior of the black one over the weekend everything apart from the dash which I'm building myself up for. The amount of stuff I have found wrong but the worst was no bolt in the passenger lower seat belt bar. Glad I got it trailered home.
