I know how you feel. Had to take my head off to do head gasket and have ended up having to remove the whole engine to get to the manifold nut that kindly rounded itself.

You will need quite a large compressor to run a air sander at least a 7cmf. I paid £750 for mine about 18 months ago.

I'm sure there have been a few threads on here and it will apply to cars registered after a certain date. While on the subject off being ripped off it's going to cost cars over 10 years old (registered before 06)an extra £10 a day on top of congestion charge to drive in London. Also after 2020 no diesel engine vehicals will be allowed in London.

Yes the alloys are. They was originally on my wife's mk1 which I borrowed while I got the original bbs alloys re furbed. I don't doubt I will regret painting the block buy the ocd in me still wants to do it plus ill have time on my hands while the head is off being done.
