a mate did a bam conversion on he's corrado about 2 months ago, it had a "safe re-map" it was running 240bhp but 310lb. it was bloody fast :) i allways thought of the 1.8T's as having no character/soul, but after going out for a very very spirited ride, i take it all back, i was very impressed, and that does not happen every day :) karl

thanks again for the very very usefull info mate, i have just spoken to the seller of the wheels, and i will be going to look at them in the morning, that way i will 100% have the correct ET, and the correct centre bore. so it looks like i may have some LM's by lunch time :) thanks for the links also, just gonna check them out now. karl

just try finding el sheets in this country??
-
maybe?? i will let people now what happens with these alloys.

your a bloody star BigTartanJudge that is all the info i wanted, so if you could find me the info for the place in germany for the adaptors, that would be great :) the centre bore is 54.1mm (i was told), so yeh gonna get some 3mm spiggot rings from a local wheel supplier. the guy only told me the et was 52, but gonna look at the wheels tomorrow, they were off a 1994 MR2, so if you wouldn't mind looking for the et that also would be great. and yeh £600 all in for some LM's seems to good a chance to pass.. 8) many many thanks :thumbleft: karl

hi michael, the pipes are boring black mate, but you could have them bright purple with yellow spots, it would not matter which you chose, as you cant see them anyway :) the connectors i think are stainless?? but they have all been zinc passivate coated??? that is what i was told anyway. when you say heat exchanger?? do you mean the oil cooler radiator?? or have i missed something when doing it :( i have no problem with getting him to make you some pipes up mate, they may not be at the mates rates though?? but still loads cheaper than pirtek etc etc. karl

been offered a set of holy grail alloys for a corrado,a set of BBS LM's for £400  they have new rims on them, but need the centres refurbed, also got virtually brand new eagle F1's. but they are 5/114. so i have 2 questions. 1, buy them and get them re-drilled to 5/100, fill in the holes that i dont need by a proffesional company, then colour code the centres, but is this a safe way of doing it?? 2, is there anywhere that will custom make some adaptors for me?? they are 7.5x17 et 50, so should be ok with adaptors if i can get them. please help, as the guy is gonna put them on some toyota forums on saturday if i dont take them by then. :(

i fitted mine last week, easy to do :) apart from when i was doing mine, i broke the crack pipe :( serves me right for being so brutal i suppose. i have a mate who makes up custom hydraulic hoses for everything from 125cc mopeds to Caterpillar land movers. and he said not to go braided as you cannot get enough bend in the pipe required to go around the radiator etc etc, it will 95% bend, but you have the chance of cracking the inner pipe. so we went ahead with some industrial oil hose (tested to 2500psi) he charged me £30 for the hoses/connectors. 8) in the week i have been running it (19 row) the hottest oil temp has been 86c 8) and mine is mounted in front of the radiator next to the nearside headlight. karl

water pump is a piece of p to change, BUT make sure you knock the allen key socket firmly into place, if you round off one of them you will have a nightmare job on your hands, even soak them in plusgas/wd40 the night before. and yeh get a new belt for when you do it. karl

hi Jamie, hope the repair work goes well mate, also i noticed you wanted some RH ZW'1's just a little word of advice, dont do it :) they weigh as much as pluto, and you will feel the difference in acceleration/steering, mainly the steering, as i have driven a corrado with those alloys on, and compared to my alloys it was like the power steering was not working on the other corrado. karl

do like corrado's in grey 8) so let the spending commence

the callipers are the same on the 288's as the 312's, the difference in the size of the pad, is the main reason for for moving on from the 280's the 288/312 pad is about a third bigger. hence better stopping power, the 312's are better than the 288's as brake fade is less noticable. but not by much. so i would go with the 288's, but with very good discs/pads. karl
-
hi Jamie, i'm that someone :) your D90's will take the TT312's but you will have to shave a bit of metal off the calliper though, only about 1-2mm. also the brake hoses on the 288's will fit the corrado brake lines, so you dont need to buy any. karl

cheers guys, i'm thinking cupra. BUT i'm looking into getting the brackets from VF so i can put my charger onto the mk4 :) should be good for over 300bhp 280lb according to vwvortex. i may even get another charger from the states so that both will be charged :)

i'm looking at getting a new car, the corrado will not be leaving me :) but cant decide between the following cars. 1, vw golf 2.8v6. its solid, refined not bad specced, goes ok. found one on a 52 plate 66k silver, going for £5500. 2, seat leon cupra r, not as solid, very well specced, goes like stink when on boost, found an 03 plate 72k going for £5250. what are your opinions??? karl
