i have just done mine and used various sized wire attachments on a drill, and painted directly onto the clean metal with smooth black hammerite. i did a mk2 golf like this years ago and it still looked great some 5 years later.

theres nothing wrong with a 20vt engine mate, i just think those engines dont have any character/soul, and a mk1 has plenty of those 2 in abundance. what about a rotrexed 16v 8)

i will get you some pics early next week Gareth, just getting ready to go away for the weekend, and mines lowered with Eibachs also mate but i just fitted the fronts -45mm as the rear sat to low for my liking as all bm's do trail there arses around. but its very much like standard in ride quality but much better turn in.

it may be happening sooner than that Kev, someone wants to do a straight sway with a 52 plate 330i. and i can get a vortech for that engine easily enough.

mk2 golf and 1.8t is the way forward, i dont like mk1's with 1.8t's in them as i think the engine is just to modern for that car. are you thinking about 4wd?? only asking as i have someone with a rallye he's contemplating breaking.

do it mate, i'm really liking mine at the moment. With the 328/330 descion its fairly easy as the 328 is not as powerfull/smooth as the 330 but the 330 is better on petrol, and also alot faster.

engine change could only be a 2.016v with throttle bodies mate, dont go silly and put a poxy 1.8t in there.

i got all my new stainless steel bolts/washers etc etc from this company http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/boltmeup very helpfull and a very fast delivery service, i totalled about 130 bolts and they sent me an extra 20ish free :D
