glad you are happy with your kit. Well chuffed mate! :D Think I need some turbo diesel rear mounts now and a short shift kit! Another question though, I have modded the air box on mine, and since changing the pulley the induction note has changed quite a lot. Whereas before it made a droaning/resonating type noise, now its more of a growling noise at low revs, changing to all out roar higher up. Just checking this is normal, as It doesn't sound quite the same as my mates Rallye we did last night

Took a half day today at work to fit a Chip and Pulley on the Golf! :D :D :D What a difference! The car has bags more low down pull and races throught the revs! It goes like f£!?!! And now with the extra boost, the car is sounding awesome!! Chuffed to bits with the kit!! Thanks to Darren for the bits and the phone advice today! I've set the timing to 6 degrees for the min to be on the safe side, so I'll run it for a bit and see how I get on. Off now to do the same on my mates Rallye! 8)

Hi Guys, got a question for any of you who have been unfortunate enough to get caught by a static Gatso camera. Some one I know recently got flashed by one, she was doing 60 in a 40, in a section of roadworks on the dual carriage way. She has been sent a letter confirming this and that she needs to sign it and send it back. Havin just tried the not-signing trick, another letter has been sent sayin she must sign and send back again. My question is, is there anyway around this or does she just need to bite the bullet and take whats coming? Thanks

You have to ask though is it really worth the risk? If you do end up actually needing them you could end up more than a few hundred quid out of pocket

Thanks for all the advice. It makes very interesting reading! I'll pass this info onto my bro and get him on the case! Thanks again

Can anyone help me out with a VAG part no. for the black plastic centre caps I need to fit G60 Winter wheels? Thanks
-
Thanks for all that info Henny. The car has been classed as a cat B write off, does this mean you can't get it back then? It's soo annoyin when I know I could get at least £500 quid for the leather!! Started searching for adds now to bombard them with stuff. Looks like more time arguing on the phone is required :(
-
If only it were so easy! Don't know about you but I really couldn't drive round in a standard motor anymore, I've been bitten by the modifying bug and I think it's here to stay 8) Insurance however is just turning into a real nightmare!   I wish now I had the car brought home and it was sat outside under a sheet. Do agreed value policies work then???

Ok I'll have a look around for ads etc.Thanks. Is there anything I can do about getting the car back? After all surely it is my brothers car until an acceptable offer has been made for it??

Hi guys, got an insurance problem and am after some advice. My brother recently wrote off his Mk3 Golf TDI with heated leather, alloys, all electrics, etc. To which he added:- smooth bumpers, crystal lights etc...It took us ages to find the car of such a high spec to start with and just over a year ago cost him £4k. Add to that the money spent on top and it owes him fair few quid as you can imagine. Thing is, they have only offered him £3k for it so minus his £500 excess thats only £2.5k, not a lot. The Insurer is Highway and they say its their policy not to sell the salvage either so we can't even flog the leather etc to re-gain some money  He has told them he is not happy with their offer but has been told to prove it is worth more :!: Whats the best way of going about this :?:

Hi all, a mate of mine is going to be attempting this swap soon, when his Mk1 gets back from the paintshop. He has a Corrado G60 complete to use for the swap. If anyone can point me in the direction of any info on the web it would be appreciated. Thanks

Ditto! Been out in mine 2nite too, and to be honest really didn't want to put it away for the night! It was going like F!?* The MFA was showing an outside temp of 1degree  It really was pulling like a train! I've recently been reading loads of threads about the benefits of fiiting an oil coller to the G60 and was wondering if the Mk1 GTI item a) fits, and b) is actually up to the job. Would be greatful of any advice. Thanks

Not so far away mate. Wot colour is your C? I'll look out for you. If your interested, a few local dubbers are on here http://www.myphpbb.co.uk/phpbb/index.php 8)

Your local Stealers!? Only thing is you may have to buy several badges to get the letters you need.

When I ordered my Boost return kit from G-werks, Darren also recommended a tin of PTFE spray to keep the charger lubed. One spray at both inlets once a month is what I was advised. King Prawn, where in Cornwall are you?
