  1. dredgy - your fully within your rights to have this information - they can't do you any more or throw a bigger book at you.........
  2. you're wrong, dr-mat. when i got done 18months back, i looked into it extensively - as the government go to great lengths to state they are safety camera's, the argument therefore is invalid if the camera's are not in blackspot positions and if it is a blackspot, you should be made aware so you slow down. admittedly i think their argument is weak but its fact, not speculation - i've clocked just about every camera i've come across travelling the country and most are on the limit of 0.5 mile from a sign, unless its been removed - i even queried this when i was flashed and they give me the precise location - i suppose that they hope you have a short attention span and will have forgot seeing the sign 0.5 mile away :) Try clocing them and then see how sceptical you are - also check out different forces websites for mobile locations - like i say, i have and thought it was worth posting "at the end of the day", they do have to work to specific guidelines and part of the reason for that is tring to convince us they're safety camera's, not speed camera's - not that i agree........
  3. by law, there has to be a speed camera sign within 0.5 mile of the site you were nabbed at - check it out - i've seen very flimsy signs tied to lamposts in our neck of the woods - I'm amazed they don't get removed  the notice to prosecute has to reach you within 2 or 6 weeks - i can't remember which but check it out. the mobile camera location has to be published on the relevant police forces website - mobile locations cannot be random. you are within your rights to ask for a copy of the pic - if you can't be identified, "sell" the points to someone else and send back the notice with the lucky buyers details  you can ask for proof of calibration for the equipment used. i did read stories of people getting off if the info couldn't be provided but that was probably a while ago and wouldn't be surprised if everything is a lot more slick now what i've done is get one of them sat nav's PNA's which are very neat and tidy with inbuilt GPS from makro for £199 which include all speed camera's - you can download updates free online for speed camera databases and its all automatic once you've put microsoft activesync on your machine (included with the sat nav) - ie, every time you plug in the sat nav, it updates databases etc. Best gadget i ever bought - you can - hack it and use it as a pda - mp3 player as it runs windows CE - navigation is spot on - speed camera info in invaluable - for £40-50 you can get all of Europe maps and navigate to wurthsee etc :) hope this helps
  4. if yours is that colour, chris, you need to start worrying!!!!!! -
  5. bloody hell!! this thread's like a "KHW, RIP thread!!!! Bit over dramatic shirly - everyone needs to lighten up a bit..
  6. this sniping is getting a bit out of hand these threads - i wish you 2 would sort out these squabbles and keep it off public threads - i enjoy talking to you, kev, and phat, and its not good whenever a post comes up from either of you and comments like this appear.....
  7. i'm surprised that no-ones mentioned tha fag lighter which likes to detach itself whenever you unplug the lighter/pone charger etc. and what about the wipers - does anyone still run std wipers since vw was deluged with orders for lupo wipers? and how about the inaccessibility of the rear strut tops to allow me to adjust my KONI'S - they MUST have realised people would fit aftermarket top adjustable shocks :)
  8. Chris, you serously need an eye transplant, matey!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. lee's sign on his car, well, maybe not (If you ain't got a sense of humour, don't read :D
  10. the figure on the day were sh1t as we turned up low on fuel and couldn't get any superunleaded - the car ran on normal fuel and had a terrible flat spot as it just wasn't set up for it. - i don't understand your comments otside of that as outside of power, thers 3 other elements - handling, brakes and bottle. i've mostly ran koni's and the handling of a corrado aint the worst std and damn good with konis, esp coilovers - brake - take your pic, tt setup, r32, seat brembo's or porsche calipers themselves - nothing hard in the slightest. Why do you find it so hard to believe? its not hard at all - the red car you've looked at only ever got stuffed by an r34 skyline in all the time i had it and the black one i'm in progress with now will be definatley better to hopefully correct that - fingers crossed. When talking about 911's theres a stroy chrisvr6nos will tell you about a customer he talked to who had a scooby and a 911 - one for posing, the 011, and one for fun - the scooby. they're not that hot although i'd take one tomorrow cos of what they are, until then, i take satisafaction in stuffing them.
  11. LEE - hope you realise this thread is more of a debate on what modding is than a reflection in your car - from my point of view anyway - as i said earlier, what you've done isn't for me and i don't see the point but again, to quote myself, each to their own.
  12. so true so true - exactly the point, making a car perform better than what was intended = modding. WOW - did I just write that?! Can I have your autograph? :D[/quote:061e2] coxy - YOU ARE MY LOVE CHILD!!! :)
  13. its not a think, its a done - see the video on pvw site - the red corrado - chrisvr6nos was in the passenger seat on such occassions - its fact...
  14. I think its probably unfair that this thread is revolving aroud a20 lee but disregarding that car, i hold true to the fact that i think its pimped/blinged/ etc... whereas a car like phats or bigben is a MODDED car, work carried out predominantly by their owners and in my book, thats what modding is about. I could never agree with vast sums spent like lee's car - the reaosn i've always modded cars is to achieve something and have something that can compete with cars i can't afford. theres nothing more satifying than blowing off a 50k m3 or 911 etc..... Producing a shiny corrado with no more guts than standard achieves nothing - it can't beat more exotic cars and it doesn't look better than more exotic cars - so I can't see the point - BUT EACH TO THEIR OWN, i just don't get it at all... All show and no go. Whats the point???????????? If Lee's reading this, don't take it as a knock on you but its just not my thing.
  15. i know - i'm being a cheapskate - but when the bushes come in at £100+ for a set, £25 and a bit of work seems attractive
  16. ...Chris, when you get a chance, give me a call and tell me about it....
  17. so the poly bushes'll be worth a few quid then? - can't imagine they'll come out easy mind...??? £25?
  18. I've been offered these wishbones with poly bushes but don't know if they'll fit my '95 vr6?? Can anyone advise from the pic? - they're described as corrado/mk2? gold wishbones....
  19. Restored???!!! - youre kidding, right?!

    Tesco 99RON

chris - have you found any tesco's supplying this up here? don't even know where theres a tesco petrol station let alone if it supplies rocket fuel :)
  21. hang fire - you can get a sixth speed in a normal box with quaiffe lsd - i've had one, just bought one at the vw festival show and i think phatvr runs or had one. - or have i got the wrong end of he stick here? http://www.quaife.co.uk/productupdates/new_06.htm
  22. let's put this into perspectitve and its certainly the view i take to a certain degree. Firstly if you had a ford focus, you'd be blowing 12-15k on HP Secondly, if anyone bought their 'C' brand new, they'd have 20-25k in it probabley more at current car prices. To get the same performance as some of the modded cars on here, anywhere between 30-70k Anyway you look at it, when anyone says "you have a lot of money in the car" or "you must be paid too much" or "you must be mad" etc....basically what it amounts to is, you've spent less than 50% than the cost of a run of the mill small family saloon and a 1/5 to 1/10 that of anything with anywhere near the performance.... :D ...and thats worth smiling about
  23. tinted - this can always be taken back off and the std definately looks dated regardless of how nostalgically you view view them
  24. see i you stars wars talkie person you is..
