  1. Sorry for going off topic here C. Will Corrado G60 2... Well I'm going through replacing almost everything on the car, by the end i'll have replaced the steering rack/rods etc, front and rear brakes, 4 branch manifold and full exhaust, new cv joints with std driveshafts, uprated engine mounts, remote oil cooler, new suspension (havent decided on replacement yet), all new OEM bushes, new wishbones, new bearings, new arb, gearbox rebuild with atb diff... then comes the modding, pretty much what you've listed above. fmic, fans, management, 1.9, gas flowed head, injectors... I'm probably only about 33% through it. That doesnt list all the other stuff like bodywork, central locking, interior stuff, general servicing... I am interested in this route - I'd like to find out more about the conversion and what sort of costs are involved - also how reliable it is... If theres another thread discussing it I'll move my post over to it - saves hijacking this one. :)
  2. hi there mate :) your turn to give me some advice! curious to know how much work it is to get half the dash out like in the top picture there? i know the glovebox is a nightmare to get out - but i have a load of crazy wiring behind the dash that i am dying to get sorted... particularly snipped wires behind the stereo...
  3. bad news. but thanks for the info :)
  4. IHIG60 - what other work have you done besides fitting the turbo? i.e. what was your engine like before doing this conversion? Was it like the one listed above? And what were you forced to do to be able to take that power (e.g. driveshafts, joints etc). Know theres too much you could write here - but curious to know some basic details please.
  5. whats the mileage on the engine? and how much power are you approx. running at present?
  6. do the work yourself beforehand so the service is chaper? both the cambelt and the engine mount are doable Jim :)

    hehe no worries matey :)

    (PAS) FLUID

i'd drain it and get the old out before putting new stuff in - same as any fluid - but nothing stopping you just pouring it straight in without draining...

    (PAS) FLUID

i am guessing here andy - but i think red is dictated by ATF being written on the cap - but i really am not entirely sure - a quick search will clarify mate :)

wright Dad! Thats me told[/quote:bcfb2] What's the point in this comment? You asked multiple questions, you got a possible answer, that happened to make reasonable sense. Further reading suggests that the year of car can take either red or green and you should find a marking on the cap of the reservoir (I think) that indicates which type is appropriate for your system. So you'd need to check yours. However, you could have found that out yourself using the search...
  12. when i was a teen i saw them in mags and a local guy had one. lusted after them for years - then after getting a decent paying job i decided a year later i had to have one... it was very close between a g60 and an itr though
  13. my almost std g60 won't get past a marked (on speedo only) 143mph...

for the sake of a fiver - flush the system then fill it up with the green stuff - then you'll not have to worry anymore. its easy to do too - just drain from the pipe at the pump end that has a metal turned connector to the pump. think its a 16mm.
  15. hat off to the attitude sir :) best o luck!
  16. looks unsafe to be honest.... surely youd be on the sidewall when cornering hard
  17. essentially that gauge is suitable as the unit of measurement it takes for either charger or turbo can be the same - just as youve said :). Youre fine to fit.

    g60 water pipe

This pipe burst some months ago and now I've confirmed my cheap bodge (using a halfords pipe) is the cause of a leak. Can anyone tell me the part number of this pipe highlighted please! I've marked it on the picture - it leave the head via a flange then seems to connect to some kind of splitter/regulator - not sure - but at this connection it breaks into 3 pipes, 2 of which go through the bulkhead for the matrix - presumably the feed and return. The local VW couldn't be sure and wanted to order one pipe at a time till they matched the correct one  :x  Thanks in advance
  19. Jay the only thing you havent got new then is the column/UJ... isnt that the only thing left thats in the related area? as youve mentioned - youve replaced everything i am about to
  20. i can get a clonk - have always put it down to the cv joints i know needing replaced. i have new wishbones with new bushes. i'll be replacing my driveshafts with new cv joints very shortly - so could confirm this for a few of you....
  21. i'm now getting a slight clunk from mine. only been last weekend I've had the new rack, rods and ends in. Can feel it through the column... When the cars stationary - if i turn the wheel enough to hear the pump come on - then let go of the wheel - theres a faint clunk or thud sound and it makes me think theres play there somewhere. haven't located it - but this weekend I'll be spending some time finding out where it is coming from. Keep me posted here too! I'll be checking!
  22. read some posts about wilwood calipers flexing. whether this is actually fact or not - i can't be sure - but there seems to be a floating rumour that hi-spec are good. goign to check these out first. seen some ronal ls' selling a hell of a lot cheper on ebay.de...
  23. nice! i'll go check them out.
