Is there anyone who could pls help out here? :) I'd be in debt to a helper here!
-
its a test of patience - can imagine how irratating it is - but, now you know its being corrected, its just a matter of waiting now I am assuming. Been in a situation like this before (not my car) and you just have to see it out and focus - let the excitement of getting the work finished take over the frustration. Wish you luck with it all Sam.

i don't know anyone personally with one. but I'm hoping someone will come along - around that price is cool with me :)

if i didnt plan to put bigger brakes on it - therefore needing different wheels, then it would stay that way (with the exception of the grill) - i like it looking that way :) but the std bbs' are a pain in the a$$ to keep clean. bring on the comp2s... -
anyone know of aftermarket ones that dont look tacky? theres 51 views and no answers! Guessing they are that hard to find?
-
i wonder why i havent done this already tbh....
-
ah, of course - that makes a lot of sense. Did you install it yourself? I am after one in the new year
-
thats good and low then - was that a choice you made yourself to get a 70 stat?
-
doesnt a themostat work these coolers - so G60Dub, what temp does your kick in? I think I can remember 90degrees being the standard for the 13rack ones like in your picture??

I was inspecting the fuel lines off the fuel rail today after noticing a strong stink of fuel lately. On a cold start (first of the day) I checked over the engine whilst it warmed up - what I noticed was: 1) there was a weird soft hissing noise (like air escaping under pressure) from around the back of the block... 2) I could smell fuel coming from the pipe between the right hand side of the fuel rail leading to the switch unit 3) the catch tank (which was smelling very strong indeed) was about 1/3 full of what seemed like petrol after installing it only 2-3 weeks ago (its a Gwerks tank so hopefully some of you know the size of it - its pretty small). A boost return kit has been fitted at the same time as the catch tank and I know the rocker cover gasket needs replaced as theres oil down the back of the block from that seal (probably the hissing sound). For the meantime a new fuel pipe is on order along with the clips (anyone got the part numbers etc for the self tightening clips - VW seemed very hazy on those) and I've checked over the connections around the breather to the catch tank etc. Any help on what to do would be great :)

is that after an oil cooler being fitted? I get that @ same speed on long runs with the std cooler...

tbh i cant stop laughing at them... some people must be out of their minds... i find it hard to believe that someone really wants to do this and believes its a good thing. people are very strange. -
thanks Darren :) Fine to lock

ive got a supersprint system (inc manifold) and i've not had any reason to complain. andycowuk also has almost the same - no complaints there either. I got andy's opinion on them before comitting to buying one.

and btw whats the POR hi temp paint?

top quality job sir. i love seeing these kinds of posts, its gives me real encouragement to get mine up to scratch like this. As far as i see, it was more time consuming rather than expensive. I know what you mean about the charger, after I got mine rebuilt, I couldnt believe how new it looked when it was returned. well done :) inspiring!

either some good painting or a lot of new bits! waiting for the info :)

what did you spend/change to do all of that? its quite a nice transformation! I am wanting to tidy my engine bay too...
