  1. is this of any use? or try HEREengine mount.JPG[/attachment:c8011] too late.
  2. they are top heavy enough as it is without strapping a caravan on top, i bet it only does about 40mph tops  I dont think they where questioning you.......just your sexuality
  3. are they visibly shot or are they effecting the handling? also which bushes, the ones in the ring at the top of the droplinks or the ones either side of the wishbone? is there a build up of rust on the roll bar, wishbones or the drop links that could have caused chafing on the bushes?
  4. are all your bushes in good condition? shot rear bushes cause a floaty rear end feeling and can make it quite unpredictable.
  5. yeh the cleaner is now in a small pump spray bottle, you just apply it to each pleat and let it soak in and loosen the crap. I have just been having a look for info about different filters on the net and all the tests have concluded that, disposable OEM paper or napa filters are still the best for filtration but worst for power (most restrictive) and although K&N and other oiled cotton filters are not quite as good at filtration, they are much less restrictive, foam and mesh filters performed worse at filtration than the K&N but better at flow. it seems the sticky oil in the K&N holds onto the particles of dust more effectively, mesh and foam filters seemed to stop the particles initially but finer particles eventually worked theyre way through the filter.
  6. more than likely your indicator flasher/relay is either loose (not pushed in properly) or faulty, if you unplug the relay the hazard switch does what you describe, so try that first, they will flash with the alarm as the alarm doesnt use the indicator relay to flash them, it applies the power directly to the indicators.
  7. I have cleaned my K&N about 10 times since i have had it and it comes up pure white every time, spray the cleaner on evenly leave it for 15 minutes and then rinse off, there are also no holes that i can see light through once its been oiled. although it wouldnt surprise me if the cleaner was just a weak laundry detergent solution, it certainly feels alkali when you get it on your hands just like washing powder does.
  8. yep follow the cleaning instructions to the letter and you cant really go wrong with them i would have thought you would have to seriously over oil them to actually cause any problems though, most of the oil would probably get deposited on the walls of the piping before it reached the maf sensor and would it actually cause permanent damage if it did get on the sensor? judging by the amount of crap that comes out of my filter when i rinse it out it must be doing its job quite well. Make sure you use the proper k&n or Green cotton filter cleaner and oil though I have seen people cleaning them in petrol, blasting them with water at full pressure and even blowing them out with an airline, all of which will completely destroy the filter.

    DeCat pipe

i think the ones on ebay are raceland pipes, I picked one up from dubfreeze this year and its been fine for me, its only a section of pipe with a flange and a thread for the lambda so i cant really see the point in paying any more for a big brand one.
  10. there are two square plastic clips that you need to twist and remove first, then pull the tray out.
  11. They have been know about for ages its just the price that puts most people off. Why - How much are they??[/quote:8ce5d] last time i saw them for sale at ed38 they where £35 (although they may be cheaper from vw) I lost interest as soon as the guy said £35 for a torch  Here you go still seems a bit much for a torch though ebay

  13. yeah I saw that, and I have to admit as much as 5th gear makes me cringe with its awfull presenting, watching plato and tiff racing the porsche and audi around the track was superb, thats what top gear is missing at the moment you get a better sense of speed when there are two cars on the track, maybe they should have two Stigs at the same time?
  14. the problem is even a car that hasnt been in an accident could still have more than 4mm difference between wheel centres, even removing and refitting the rear beam and front wishbones or a bad alignment set up could change it by that much, many garages dont even use 4 wheel alignment, you would be better off getting measurements between certain points on the chassis from a known good car.
  15. they are certainly taking their time bringing this out, i took this photo of it in june 2005 at the motor show.
  16. I dont really think it has anything to do with them being women, it more to do with them being d***heads :) i see just as many people carriers and 4x4's being driven badly by blokes. Although the 4 accidents i have been involved in have all been women driving into the back of me while i was stationary in traffic, two of which where doing their hair at the time (saw them in the mirror) and one of which was reading a map on the passenger seat at 70 mph on the m6 (she admitted). none of those causes had anything to do with being women and everything to do with being idiots.
  17. An interesting attitude to perjury. Your lies in this particular case would be rather easier to disprove than the idiot in question who drove into a car then didn't leave their details..! I was partly joking (will add a smiley to clarify) but a friend of mine has done this before and got away with it, I'm afraid someone leaving the scene of an accident without leaving thier details and leaving someone to pick up the bill is a bit worse in my opinion, (not necessarily in the eyes of the law ) people like that are ****ing scum, i had the same happen to my mk1 MR2 when some gypo scumbag in a hilux reversed into it and left me to pick up the bill.
  18. the rubber block on the side is part of an emergency locking mechanism, if you look at the seatbelt clip side it has a pivot, if you stop quickly or crash the seatbelt clip pulls up and locks into a row of teeth on the seat rail which stops the seat sliding forward, its just a second safety measure in case the seat hasnt been locked into possition correctly or the front catch fails, it will still work without the rubber block but will just feel a bit more slack.
  19. Wrexham police are pretty useless when it comes to things like this, when the stereo was nicked out of my crappy old astra they wouldnt come to take finger prints as they didnt think it was worth it (£200 car £600 stereo), until i took clear photographs of the finger prints that had been left all the way across the top of the drivers window where it had been pulled down, i took them into the station and they imediately sent the guy out to dust for prints, it led to 3 guy's being put away for 3 months over christmas as the same night they had broken into 6 other cars and emptied the tools out of a couple of vans down the road. hope you do find out who did it though, get their registration and if they refuse to pay up just get someone to call the police and say they witnessed it happening  . I would be more than willing to help  .
  20. Its very unlikely to go through a hole in the glass, the rear screen is toughened glass and doesnt like being drilled, and an installer would be very reluctant to do it as it would greatly weaken the glass, its most likely just a self adhesive antenna on the outside and a self adhesive pickup coil on the inside, most screens with holes in them for antenna's where drilled before the toughening process was carried out to avoid them shattering into tiny pieces.

    boss kit

    here you go, adjustable boss
  22. remove the plastic trim that covers the seat runner (on the right on the left seat and on the left on the right seat) then just remove the small allen screw with a 10mm nut on the front of the centre seat rail, then pull the slider lever and slide all the way back and lift out. And as you have recaro's unplug the connectors.
  23. if you use longer self tappers through the plastic gromets that the screws normally go into on the slam panel they will eventually screw into the headlight body, although the single screw behind the headlights should secure them enough on their own.
