i wouldnt risk it but if you have to just take it very slowly keep the revs down. and if you have to sit in traffic for a long time flick the engine off oh and buy a fire extinguisher

if it was caused by bad fuel, fuel pump, lambda probe ect it should cause the manifold to glow evenly if it is only making part of the manifold glow it would suggest a more localised problem has the compression been checked?
-
first of all i would drain the tank, is it possible that someone has put diesel in by mistake? someone once took a p1ss in my brothers fuel tank which caused it to cut out when the tank ran low  didnt notice a glowing exhaust manifold though if the manifold has got hot enough to glow several times there could be further damage i would have thought have the valves been checked could be sticky exhaust valves letting the freshly combusted fuel into the exhaust manifold, does the manifold glow evenly or just next to a certain cylinder?

urgh........ the wheel arches look like the one on that atrocious max power astra that thankfully went up in flames  only bit that looks remotely c-like are the rear lights

Now there's an idea... a CF poster featuring all the cars! If someone has that clever software, it could be one of those posters that makes up a picture from thousands of little pictures... this would make the ideal front cover for the calendar maybe spell out corrado on the front cover, and it would certainly be able to include most of the members cars and wouldnt have to use very high res images as they would be so small anyway is there anyone we can each send a couple of images to who can use them in the montage? maybe limit the size to 640x480 or something like that? would also be quite good if the dates for the calendar where on a slightly longer page than the pictures, then you can choose whatever car you want to display for that month 8) (i wish the hollyoaks calendar had this feature when the fat red headed one was featured i had to tear her off and fold one of the nicer ones over her)

as far as i know psd/g-werks use original or better only parts so it is top quality stuff
-
or if you speak any german http://www.bar-tek-tuning.de/lshop,shop ... ,,,,,,.htm cant really comment on the possible quality (or lack of) as i dont speak german and babelfish does'nt do a very good job with technical translations  i only really sent mine to g-werks as the small belt had stripped and i didnt really know what to look for as far as possible damage. and i needed it done quickly after converting those prices its not far off getting it done by darren anyway  doh! didnt notice the english button at the top

i have used multiple legs with velcro on the end to secure the false floor to the boot floor and its sturdy as hell and does not vibrate at all but if you want a more permanent solution try using some tiger seal polyurethane (windscreen adhesive) that will stick to anything and also deaden any vibration
-
i dont think its the pin that wears as it is hard as hell, i think its chrome steel its the hole where the pin is pressed in and the teeth that seem to wear
-
would be cool to have all the best ones on there for the months and maybe a front cover made up of loads of small pics of everyones cars i would definately buy a couple one for the office one for home
-
its on all the time so you can see where the light switch is when its dark, (oh those thoughtfull germans just a shame they didnt think of using led's)

had a couple of quotes for the work and dane vw want to repair the bumper and respray both rear quarters even though they are not damaged at all and i dont really want the bumper repaired as its distorted thier quote came to £688 +vat and that is with only £50 worth of parts the rest is labour my local trusted garage want £253+vat for paint and labour and the new bumper with the brace included is £414.58 +vat from vw and i know he will do a superb job only problem is that he said the assesor could tell him to repair the bumper, do i have any choice in this as i thought i was meant to be left in the same position as before the bump and i certainly didnt have a filled plastic welded bumper before .

im not about to start slagging off ALL woman drivers as i know some very good ones, but when the woman drove into the back of me the other week i just couldnt understand why. it was light traffic on a link road between two large roundabouts and i was stopped behind two cars that where also stationary i had my lights on and my foot on the brake and she just drove straight into the back of me without braking. im not saying im a perfect driver and i have rear ended someone before but that was after he swerved into my lane while everyone was allready braking hard after a lorry clipped the armco barrier. i have lost count of the number of women i have seen doing thier makeup in the mirror while tanking along the fast lane of the motorway but i have also lost count of the number of reps driving beemers, vectras,or other rep-mobiles while using mobiles or shavers, and why dont people get stopped for smoking while driving ?

look here http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... highlight= for the sort of things that need changing it might look like a lot but its no more than any other car of this sort of age, its just the corrado shows things up more than most cars and some parts can be a bit awkward to find or expensive but if your mechanically minded or know a reasonable garage who know their way around vw's (unlike most vw dealer garages  ) you shouldnt have too much trouble when i was thinking of buying a rado i had'nt even driven one before and was just attracted by the looks and what people had said about them, and the first one i drove was an absolute dog, it felt like the charger had been bypassed and when i put my hand on the charger casing while it was running it felt like it was full of rocks the interior was worn out and pretty much every panel had rust and the cheeky sod described it as a good example in auto trader  but after shopping around quite a lot i eventually found a reasonably good one with a brand new charger, unfortunately i had to drive to stroud to get it  but as soon as you drive a well maintained/set up one you should realise what the fuss is about 8)

i only bought the pioneer tv tuner to allow me to plug in the dvd changer, ps2 and hks engine status monitor  as it was cheaper than getting the aux in adapter also comes in handy if i drive my mates to chester to grab a domino's pizza or eating my lunch in the car at work they are also quite effective for keeping kids entertained on long jouneys (allthough kids are'nt allowed in my car)

within the last 12 months i have changed pretty much the whole front suspension set-up including all front bushes, top mounts, dampers bottom wishbones and bottom balljoints and also all three engine mounts and all have been changed using VAG parts but i have not yet changed the track rod ends or anti roll bar bushes. recently with the wet weather if i accellerate quite hard and the tyres loose a bit of traction the wheels sometimes start to bounce or judder also if i am accelerating up the steep hill towards my house and catch a metal grid it feels like a heavy knock through the car as it looses traction could this be knackered cv joints as i have not changed any and cant find any record of them being done in the cars very long service history any ideas ?

the fuse should be in the loom leading from the alarm, thats if it is fused. the ones on the scorpion alarm that was on mine when i bought it where on top of the offside suspension tower under the bonnet (until i ripped that one out and fitted a decent alarm) :)
-
or maybe a blown fuse on the indicator supply from the alarm, they sometimes get damp if the fuse holder is not sealed and the fuse fillament corrodes away
-
i thought this was another age related thing it has been discussed before i think. mine definately does'nt have the timer
-
are you winding us up or did you just use the words free of charge and dealer in the same sentance :shocked!:

firstly get the rear bumper replaced http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... highlight= both doors de-dented and re-sprayed, various engine bits powder coated new boot install with the ps2 built in and whatever else decides to fall off/explode/catch fire/wear out/get stolen, delete as applicable

coolrado replied to fla's topic in General Car Chat
cool as in 8) rado as in corRADO = coolrado also my xbox live gamertag -
What parts you replaced in your ownership?!?
coolrado replied to bighands's topic in General Car Chat
if you think parts for the corrado are expensive try re-building a mk1 mr2 most of the parts are double the price of vw and for a similar age car are nowhere near as reliable as a corrado. i think its just most corrado owners want the best for their cars and the corrado does seem to make minor faults more obvious, on most cars worn rear axle bushes are not so noticeable but on the corrado they seriously effect the handling
