  2. thinking of stripping my RM's back again and getting some new rims for them, has anyone bought a set of these stainless ones before? 8) http://www.justmatz.co.uk/products_specials.html are there any cheaper places to get them (stainless or alloy) i have got a bit bored of the black centres and i might go for a pearl or fleck silver :? , also i wouldnt mind fitting slightly wider rims but i dont want to have the stretched look or mod the arches so whats the widest i can use and still keep the car standard?
  3. g-werks for me, sorted my charger out after a blocked oil feed, friendly personal service and reasonable price. i have heard jabba have lost interest in g-laders and prefer to do turbo conversions???? i also read somewhere that someone marked the internals of their charger with a marker pen before a service and porting and when they got it back from jabba there had been no porting to the charger as the marker pen was still present
  4. i think it did make a bit of difference the charger is now cool enough to touch after a long run and the power levels dont seem to drop when the engine heats up a bit, i also noticed a bit of an increase in mpg but nothing major if the boost dump is too loud you can just run a length of air duct hose to the underneath of the car like i did
  5. currently waiting for a disk of toughened glass for a blanking plate i am having made that will allow you to see into the charger while its running 8) and have just got the polished ally frame for it so i should be posting some pics of that up soon
  6. would probably be easier to cover the engine side, its quite heat proof isnt it?
  7. do you mean the long belt that drives the charger? as it should be self tensioning with the spring loaded tensioner which isnt adjustable
  8. whats next................. double glazing once went for a ride in the back of frank williams's merc that had double glasing and it was spookily quiet
  9. try looking at the parcel shelf where it sits on the side shelves, the covering on the parcel shelf starts to get flattened down and then starts to squeek, if you just rough the fabric up with a blunt knife or stiff brush it usually stops it. if it looks shiney it will probably make a creaky rattling sound as you go over bumps
  10. same childish sense of humour  avs £151.53 inc vat ecp £120.53 +vat not sure on vw prices
  11. your local family planning clinic should be able to help
  12. will be borrowing a mates digi video cam as well, might have to find someone to host them though
  13. anyone else going this weekend? i know there are some other big vw events this weekend as well but i am going to oulton park with a couple of mates. hav'nt been to any of the vw cup races before but i have been to see the touring cars a couple of times so should be interesting to see corrado's racing against caddies and golf's :D http://www.vw-cup.co.uk/index.htm
  14. hmm was thinking of getting a magnex or milltek but for that price i will probably go for one of these, did they have a standard style oval? are there certain fitting cetres that are more recommended than others? i think the flexi section of mine may have started blowing so if that is included i may have to get one very soon, what sort of design are they using for the flexi's?
  15. do you get a choice of tailpipe for that price?
  16. i would go for the focals too they give a nice smooth yet crisp treble unlike some others that can be quite harsh and scratchy i have focal jm labs at home too for my surround system and the drivers are very similar in design with the same warm sound

    I hit a BIG bird

i have seen footage of frozen and thawed birds (not sure what they where) being fired at aircraft canopies and screens by a very powerfull compressed air cannon, showing the benefits of laminating the glass, it does smash the glass but prevents decompression and keeps the broken screen together i have also seen footage of small dead birds being fired into turbines but they werent frozen and there wasnt much left of them afterwards http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FOD
  18. the earth connection on my g60 is from the top of the plug, to a ring terminal on the bolt on the bracket that holds the plug

    G60 problem

just been to my local vw garage and asked for a metre of the tube and the parts bloke dissapears into the stock room and comes back with a piece of the tube, so i asked him if it was exactly 1 metre and he said i think so i will just get a tape measure, he measured it and it was 900mm and said ah it will be ok, so i explained to him that it wasnt ok and that it had to be 1metre he then went back into the stock room and came back out and said the bit that was left on the drum was'nt long enough either  i will have to go somewhere that has a clue i think
  21. yes if you hav'nt allready change the oil feed and return lines as thats the reason my c was on its third charger before i bought it, they where almost completely blocked

    G60 problem

do vw sell these as a pre cut 1m length or can the right stuff be bought anywhere else, what is the correct internal size as im not sure the one on mine is correct as without tight clips its not a very snug fit
  25. we are currently developing a gps/gsm based tracking system with self management and web based house level mapping included for a similar price http://www.actiontrack.co.uk/ if you click on demo you will see the asl test vehicle (which is me) normally it would also show current speed and direction of travel and when logged in with your own secure sign in you would have full access to the last 4 months of positions and status, with options including interval tracking, exception reports (over speed, out of hours or ring fence) and the ability to get a possition whenever you want, and also the ability to get a lattitude and longitude possition sent to you via text. this is still only in developement and is currently limited to commercial fleet applications but i will let everyone know when it is released properly
