  1. Ok, just looking for a quick answer to this question, I have been offered a Focal 13" sub and an MB Quart 12" sub, which will be used in a custom rear enclosure in my boot. Which of these two has the best all-round SQ and bass (want punchy hard bass but not at Saxo-esque levels Confused ) qualities ? I listen to mostly house music but some vocally-focused, melodic indie / rock. The two on offer are@ Focal Focal 13" 33-V2 400 WRMS MB Quart RWC-304 Reference-Line Dual voice-coil 300WRMS Anyone ? Cheers
  2. TBH, shouldn't need major mod's dep. on 9x16" wheel offset, just get arches rolled and get it lowered on set of decent coilovers and will be fine (dep. on tyre choice too of course). Cheers
  3. He didn't, he bought the car from a guy who had already modified it to look like this
  4. Depends if they cautioned you verbally at the time and said they would be prosecuting, if they did they don't need to send an NIP within 28 days. Tried this one meself, HTH
  5. Yep, the american-spec Corrado's all had the third rear high-level brake light, see attached pics Cheers
  6. Yes, as can be seen from the pics, the shifter will sit quite a bit higher than the conventional OEM one, but you can order a shortened lever from JD Engineering or just buy the whole mechanism and get a shortened lever fabricated at a metalworkers or the other way to do it would be to get the shifter mount (the bottom part that the actual mechanism sits on top of / is bolted to and is fixed to the transmission tunnel) refabricated to be smaller than height then the problem of the shift lever sitting higher is solved. HTH
  7. The motorsport-style shifters are a nice piece of kit! They completely change the feel of the shift to a very positive, short-throw action. Really gives the car a motorsport feel and they look the dogs too ! Wish I'd never sold mine now.....:( Anyways, AFAIK JD mounted his in the same way as I have seen others, only difference was he fabricated a carbon-fibre transmission tunnel cover / shroud (see the above pic of the one in his 16VG60 Corrado, you can see the carbon-fibre shroud covering the mounting plate which fixes the shifter mech to the transmission tunnel) that attached to the transmission tunnel to make the installation of the shifter a little tidier. They all mount to the transmission tunnel AFAIK and hence unless the top lever is shortened the shifter knob will sit a bit higher than OEM fitment. I have attached a few pics of how these shifters are attached so you can see how they would look etc. Cheers and HTH
  8. Some folk need a set of seventeen splits to give clearance for their large brake-kits ! Watch this space
  9. Yup, Coullstar is correct, these are Ronal "Westwood" OEM standard alloys as fitted to the 2.0L 8V 115 bhp Corrado's Cheers
  10. Don't worry I will speak to him about it when my box is collected :?
  11. dazzyvr6, Supergolfs no longer exist / trade, the business has been sold and if even they were still trading I would NOT recommend anyone to go near them / use them for anything, see this topic for more details. http://www.edition38.com/board/viewtopi ... lf+imports Instead, I suggest you speak to Justmatz as they can supply new bolts and have a good reputation or search on eBay.de as there is plenty of traders on there selling new chromed bolts for BBS wheels. Or try edition38 as there is a few people on there that supply / can source these bolts. HTH
  12. Hmmmn, that's funny because Vince charged me VAT on the total cost of my gearbox rebuild which was done during November..... :?
  13. Aye, nice wheels mate, was going to buy them as well but decided to spend it on something else, well worth the £*20 eh ? Nice one
  14. Have have seen and heard of ones in MK2 Golf and Corrado's that are non-electrically-adjustable. Admittadly, the ones I have seen in the Corrado were LHD Cheers
  15. Congrats on the G60 purchase mate, sounds a good un'. And BTW not ALL the Recaro's are electric, there are manual ones as well  Are they leather or cloth and heated / non-heated ? Cloth ones are rarer than leather as most owners who paid for the cost-option of having them in their Corrado from the factory opted to pay more and get heathed leather ones etc. Cheers
  16. Then there is the issue of the £6 pints.... PS. Your steering wheel is on the way buddy  Cheers
  17. They are Merc Lorinser copy rims and they are not real split-rims but split-rim effect. You can get them few places quite cheaply. Even so quite a good price inc. tyres, Cheers
  18. Hi mate, I would have said £3000 was a fair prece for a G60 this spec ? Cheers BigTartanG60
  19. This will fit but it requires modificatiopn of the front bumper to fit and it also has plastic endtanks which are more prone to leaking and cracking than metal ones, Cheers and HTH BigTartanJudge
  20. Hey all, I have just picked up a decent 13" subwoofer (Focal) for a good price but would like some recommendations for an amp. Have heard good things about the following Audiobahn, Kicker, JL Audio, Genesis, Phoenix Gold, Rockford Fosgate and JBL. Any advice on which to go for looking to spend about £150-£200. Have already got good door and shelf speakers (DLS reference series and Infinity Kappa). Should I just run the speakers off the head-unit and run the sub off a mono amp ? Also, a mate is going to build a custom enclosure and the subwoofer specs. (see below) recommend installing in a 30-45 litres "bass-reflex enclosure" (also should the box be sealed or ported ?) ? I'm not that up on my ICE terminology so any advice explanations would be handy. I have thought about either installing in rear wheelarch a la Audioscape (is there enough room to fit this size of enclosure there ?) or in the spare-wheel well (amp etc hidden under false carpeted floor - like this (see pics below). Frequency response: 30Hz-1,5KHz depending on load. Developed for 30 to 45 litres bass-reflex enclosure. Cheers
  21. SFW are great people to deal with and if the hoses you require are on shelf you can get next day delivery on them. They currently don't do actual kits for the Corrado G60 but you can but on the required sizes from them to make your own kit. http://www.sfsperformance.co.uk/ Cheers
  22. Custom airbox on that vage.ie car looks really good, although I hope they aren't actually using an ITG foam filter on a charged car as these are notorious for being about the worst possible filter one can use on the G60 etc. This is due to the fact that small farticles of foam get sucked in with the induction flow and combine oil film to form an effective grinding paste which attacks the porting and apex selas etc. As well as the fact that foam filters don't have nearly as good dust filtration properties as cottom / gauze ones. Much better to use a k+N panel in a custom airbox or a cone filter that is cotton / gauze, Cheers
