  1. That's funny as FCUK :D Nice motah, BigEastSideVWG60
  2. Try Fat Wheels, based in Sheerness, Kent, did good job on a set I sent to be refurbed and painted for a mate. They are on 01795585111 and ask for Kevin or Eddie or http://www.fatwheels.co.uk, Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  3. Hmmn, So I need to get a 3.94 final drive from stealer for £200 ? Ouch, any places one could find it cheaper ? And I also require VR6 input shaft, intermediate shaft, reverse gear and presumably the VR6 1st and 2nd gear ratios ? Forgive me if being thick, just not that up to speed with gearboxes / ratios etc. Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  4. Maybe, But would advise you not to talk about or suggest it in this thread in case people get upset :? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  5. Thought there was a topic on here about the values of using the MK3 GTi 16V box in a G60 as it had the perfect ratio's ? So which individual bits / internals do I need to cannabilise from the VR6 box ? And where dp I get a 3.94 final drive from ? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  6. Hi, I got several quotes for Koni TA's and H & R springs and the cheapest I could find was £420 inc. VAT / delivery. Let me know if interested and I will dig out the details, Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  7. Hey all, I am looking for some advice re: gearbox issues. I have a Sachs Power VR6 clutch, brand new, and a standard 98,000 G60 box. I wish to either replace the whole box with a MK3 GTi 16V one and fit an LSD (Peloquin or Quiafe) to it using my current uprated clutch or just replace some of the G60 internals with VR6 ratios (and other internals ?) and fit an LSD and use the uprated clutch. Which would you recommend and if it's the G60 box with VR6 internals, which parts from a VR6 donor gearbox would I need ? It's just I have been offered a whole VR6 gearbox from a 1993 VR6 that has only 17,000 miles on it which I could use as a donor. Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  8. Hey all, Am currently working part-time as a rental car service agent / driver and I had the pleasing experience this afternoon of taking one of the companies new fleet cars for a spin. It's a brand new Audi A6 3.0L V6 TDi S-Line (of which we have 3), how does 225 BHP and 331 ft lbs of torque grab you all ? Also was the S-Line version with 18 inch A8 style alloys and lovely parchment colour leather and chrome trim etc. Have to say this is one of the best cars I have ever driven. Takes off like a rocket-ship and just pulls and pulls ! Lovely :D Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  9. Kevhaywire, Do you have any thoughts on this ? How does your suspension set-up compare to coilovers which you must have experienced on a C ? Just that I would rather go for better handlind and control / comfort rather than just getting coilovers because they are height adjustable. I would like my C to be low but not ground scrapingingly so and would prefer to be able to adjust the damping rather than just the height as with the FK Highsport option or pay the asking price for FK Konigsports. However, if the Koni TA's, Neuspeed ARB's and Powerflex pushes option would be better then I feel the slight extra cash would be justified even though this set-up would not allow the ride-height to be adjusted, Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  10. Sounds exactly like the problem I am having with my G60. Have been told that to fix you need to get a new window control unit, available from VW breakers or from someone on here if they have one spare, cost around £15-30, Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  11. Hmmmn, Yeah Shilakadaddy would be interested in how your new set-up compares to your Koni TA, Eibach set-up as thats the two options I am considering. BTW AFAIK and according to Gwent VW and other sources FK Silverline are the same as FK Konigsport but the body of shocks in the Silverlines are actually silver-plated stainless steel instead of being galvanised stainless steel (zinc-plated) as with the Konigsports, Regards, BigEastSideVWG60
  12. Hey all, I am also thinking about buying a new suspension set-up soon, however, I have got a really good price for FK Coilovers. There are 4 different types and are as follows: FK AK coilovers: £299 inc. delivery FK Highsport coilovers: £389 inc. delivery FK Konigsport coilovers: £529 inc. delivery FK Silverline coilovers (as Konigsport but silver-plated body): £599 inc. delivery These are all non-discounted prices, maybe could get some more discount if people were interested in a group-buy? What I really want to know is though, I personally am interested in what would give the best handling for the cash? If it was coilovers I would be tempted by the FK Highsport option as 35 mm lowered as standard, 30 % uprated damping and height-adjustable from 30-120 mm. The FK Konigsport ones are exactly the same as FK Highsport but are also damping adjustable, but cost another £140. However, I have heard that a another option which actually gives better ride-quality and handling than ANY coilover set-up is to use FK Koni-tec kits (£349 delivered) which use FK Hightec lowered springs and Koni adjustable shocks, in combination with an Eibach Anti-rollbar kit and Powerflex polybushes (total cost is £349 + £149 + £75 = £573) Now is it worth paying the extra £44 for this non-coilover set-up or is it better just to go with the FK Konigsport or Highsport set-up ? Has anyone used the non-coilover set-up (poss kevhaywire ?) and what do they think of it, whats the ride and handling like / compared to coilovers etc ? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  13. Hmmmn, Think I might have seen that C around, it's an Aberdeen (Grampian) registration originally, nice car, Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  14. Help me out guys, need to get these engine mount issues sorted out :? BigEastSideVWG60
  15. Hey all, Does anyone know of any companies or people in the UK that will custom-make wheel adapters to your own specification ? I need to source a set that will allow me to use a set of 4 x 100 PCD wheels on another vehicle that is 5 x 114.3 PCD. Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  16. Right, so there is 4 mounts then. Two on back of engine (one of which is vibration damper), the front engine mount and the gearbox mount, makes a total of 4. So, in reference to my original question according to TSR catalogue the Mk2 Golf has two different rear engine mounts, a RH (£140-£150) and a LH one (£75-£82). Which should I buy if I want to keep the new manifold I have away from the steering rack, as hardly any clearance as it is currently less than 5mm away from the steering rack and when you put power down the back of engine moves sufficiently to allow the manifold to hit off the steering rack i.e knocks under load. I don't want to damage either the manifold or steering rack so what do people suggest ? I already have a solid front mount (courtesy of JMR) and I intend on replacing both rear mounts and gearbox mount with Mk2 Golf Diesel ones (am also looking for the part numbers of all three Mk2 Golf diesel mounts, gearbox and two rear ones, if anyone knows offhand ?) if they will fit and are as good as people suggest when compared to extortionately priced Vibratechnics ones. I have attached some pics above of the mounts I can find in the TSR catalogue. Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  17. Ok, Did he replace them with OEM parts or uprated ones ? Will PM him if no-one knows. Also this means that in fact there are 4 mounts. Two at the rear, one at the front and the gearbox mount. Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  18. Yeah, I know about this but my question was, is there actually two rear engine mounts used on the Corrado G60 and if so which one should I replace with Mk2 Golf Diesel or VT ? (or both ?). I thought there was only 3 used in the G60, the transmission mount, the front mount and one single rear mount ? Will probably end up getting a Mk2 Golf transission mount and a VT rear one (if better than Mk2 Golf Diesel) if they are single mount and not two mounts as listed in TSR catalogue, Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  19. To the top, Can anyone help me out ? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  20. Ok have another problem. Apparently, according to TSR catalogue the Mk2 Golf has two different rear engine mounts, a RH (£140-£150) and a LH one (£75-£82). Is this true and is this the same for the Corrado G60 ? If so which should I buy if I want to keep the new manifold I have away from the steering rack, as hardly any clearance as it is i.e knocks under load. And is it still worth getting the Mk2 Golf diesel solid gearbox mount as well ? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  21. Help...,anyone ? :( Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  22. Hey all, Am having problems with the electric windows on my C. The drivers side was working fine and then all of a sudden would only work intermittently. Now it refuses to go up or down using the switch, however, when the switch is pressed you can hear the window control unit in the rear clicking away as if it's trying to get the window to go up / down. Now the passenger side has developed the same problem but still works 90% of the time. Does anyone have any ideas on what may be the cause as it's driving me crazy and don't want to end up stuck somewhere with window down etc. Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
