  1. TO THE TOP Still needing a source for cheap VT rear engine mounts (Mk2 Golf), Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  2. Thanks for that, Does anyone know of a cheap source for VT rear engine mounts? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  3. Hey all, Does anyone know which uprated rear and gearbox mounts are available for the G60 and at a decent price ? Front one is not a problem as I have one already :) I heard that Mk2 Golf Diesel ones are supposed to be good for the gearbox one (same fit and are pretty solid) and are available at good price but need to confirm. It's really the rear one that would be a problem as don't really want to spend £150 on one :? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  4. Hmmmn, seem to remember seeing this before on another site, it's in a Mk1 isn't it ? Reckon it should be difficult but possible, far easier to hit that target using 20V engine as base. Nice though and would like to see it finished and running, Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  5. Hey there, According to page 47 of the latest issue of Performance VW mag, Samco now do a 180 degree u-bend in silicon which would solve your problems, Cheers, BigEastSideWVG60
  6. I use Halfords Professioinal and Draper Expert, good quality and value for money, and haven't broken any as yet. Also have some older Britool stuff kicking around. If you are going for professional quality and can afford it then go for Snap-On or Teng tools. Mactools are excellent as well but feel a little lightweight as mentioned above. Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  7. Hey all, Just wondering which door handles would be able to be fitted to the C without any major modifications? Quite fancy the look of Polo Mk4 or Mk5 handles or even delocked Golf Mk4 ones, anyone else have any other ideas other then the done to death Audi ones, Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  8. Nope sorry, but just to be complete the proper spelling is "Ariel" Atom , Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  9. Interesting figures mate, I take it the 225.6 bhp & 208.6 ftlb's reading was at the crank, what was the figure at the wheels? Mine is only 178 BHP at wheels (246 BHP at crank), and you don't have half the mods I am running, Nice, BigEastSideVWG60
  10. Ok, So the hazard switch / bulb housing either needs to be changed to the early type to fit the early cowling or change the early cowling to a late-style one to accept the bigger hazard switch ? And what about the wires, do they just plug straight in to the plugs the early stalks use ? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  11. Hey all, I have managed to get hold of some 94 / 95 late-spec VR6 stalks. Has anyone fitted these into their early-spec G60 and if so would they be able to tell me how to go about doing it ? Is there any modifications needed to the switches or surrounds and do qall the functions work? Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated, Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  12. Hey all, One of my mates has a Mk3 Golf 1.8L in good condition and he wants a bit more power :D . He has been offered a Corrado G60 engine for a very good price :) . I know this is a long shot but does anyone on here know how to go about doing this or who to contact regarding such a project? I know of at least one Mk3 Golf G60 conversion in existence (red one), but I don't have any details on it or know if the owner is on any of the forums (here, dubforce.net, clubgti.com, edition38.com etc. Does anyone know this car or know who I could contact to get some info on such a swap? Any help would be much appreciated. Oh, and here is a picture of that particular Mk3 G60, Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  13. Or you could use a Jabbasport heatshield as a pattern to make one :D Which could be arranged.., Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  14. The offset of a wheel is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. The offset can be one of three types. Zero Offset The hub mounting surface is even with the centerline of the wheel. Positive The hub mounting surface is toward the front or wheel side of the wheel. Positive offset wheels are generally found on front wheel drive cars and newer rear drive cars. Negative The hub mounting surface is toward the back or brake side of the wheels centerline. "Deep dish" wheels are typically a negative offset. If the offset of the wheel is not correct for the car, the handling can be adversely affected. When the width of the wheel changes, the offset also changes numerically. If the offset were to stay the same while you added width, the additional width would be split evenly between the inside and outside. For most cars, this won't work correctly. See this site for further details / diagrams, Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  15. Hmmmn, interesting...,bearing in mind what was the last thing you said to me last night before signing off Messenger  Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  16. For info, The standard wheels available on the Corrado G60 were: BBS RZ, 6.5 x 15" ET 33 4 X 100 PCD They were NOT RM's, these were 2-piece split rims (same size tho 6.5 x 15") and they were only available on Mk2 Golf Edition One's AND as an option on late-spec G60;s AFAIK. They were the same ones as appeared on early Golf VR6's except obviously the VR6 wheels were 5 x 100 PCD. Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  17. I did take a look at the page..., And found the title says: Koenigsport Coilovers However, several times in the passage that follows on from that it the following is mentioned: The FK KÖNIGSPORT-VERSION is the sportiest model in the range of FK coilover suspensions This leads me to be confused, especially as all other websites advertising, referring to or reviewing them have refered to them as Konigsport Coilovers, :? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  18. Hmmm, According to several websites the actual spelling is: Konigsport Coilover Suspensions by FK NOT "Koenigsport", :D And Koenig are the people that manufacture fancy bucket seats etc. AFAIK Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  19. BTW, It's FK KonigSport coilovers, not Koni sport...., :) God, am turning into a statto  Cheers, BigEastSideWVG60
  20. Yes, Any adapters you need are included in the kit and it's DiY fitment. Contact G-man on the forum as G-Werks supply these and I got mine from there, Cheers, BigEastSideWVG60
  21. UPDATED Hey all, Just to confirm, the rear Corrado script badge in CHROME EFFECT is DEFINETELY no longer available (I stand corrected, however, on my last visit I was told they were still available) from ANYWHERE in the UK or Europe. The primed badges are still available at the same price. However, I managed to source the VERY LAST two CHROME EFFECT badges in Europe, which came from a VAG dealer in London :D At the moment I will be keeping hold of these as spares for my own C. However, I am waiting for a price on chroming of the primed plastic Corrado badge from a local electroplaters, and if this turns out to be cost effective I may well go ahead and offer these to forum members as long as the price is reasonable and I have enough people interested. I will keep you all informed of developments, Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  22. Hi mate, See this thread http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... rsr+outlet BTW did you get the lights yet mate ? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  23. Hmmmn, A 1600cc-16V engine (just the engine) with 210 ish BHP and 200 ish ft-lbs torque for only £12500  Think I'll stick with my G60 engine :) Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  24. Nope mate, Unless you know someone in Customs (not advisable really...,) or can get it sent over as a "sample" etc. you will also have to pay import duty at 15-20 % extra on top of price, so look at around $3250 in total, which is around £1700  . Now for around £750-£1000 you could get a new / reconditioned poss. even ported supercharger. I know which option I would rather go for..., Cheers, BigEstSideWVG60
  25. In fact, See this thread also, http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17856 Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
