  1. Hmmmn, Someone must know if this is possible...,? :? Cheers, BigEastsideVWG60
  2. Hey all, I am dropping my wheels off tomorrow to the metalworkers to get the centre bores machined to allow them to fit my hubs perfectly, all for £10 per wheels, bargain methinks :) Also, I am needing some more advice on some other wheel issues. I am interested in purchasing a set of other wheels for my C. The problem is that the bolt pattern of the wheels is 4 x 98 PCD as opposed to the 4 x 100PCD of the Corrado. Is it possible to get the bolt pattern altered to accept the C fitment or do I have to get a set of adapters made up (or are these available off the shelf?). Any help would be most appreciated, Cheers, BigEastsideVWG60
  3. Hi, Standard offset for VW Corrado 16V standard alloys is ET33 and the centre bore for ALL VW wheels is 57.1mm. Regards, BigEastsideVWG60
  4. Hi all, I am still looking to get these wheels machined. However, I noticed that when I took my Borbet B's off my C, the centre bore was originally 56.5mm and not the 57.1mm which is standard VW. The inside of the wheel centre bores had been fitted with a set of hub-centric centre bore spacers / adapters to increase the centre bore from 56.5 to 57.1mm. Unfortunatley, I had to sell these adapters with the wheels as the guy who has bought them needs them to fit the wheels to his own car. The adapters had no manufacturers name on them but had a number (should have taken a note of it, duh..,). Does anyone know of any stockists or places in the UK that sell these things because I need to get a set ASAP otherwise I will have to get the centre bores of the wheels machined which is a tad expensive  Cheers, BigEastsideVWG60
  5. Could do, but the brakes from the Mk3 / 4 will not be as powerful or have as good feel as the twin-pot Audi Girling caliper set-up, Cheers, BigEastsideVWG60
  6. Yes Kev, I have the car specs here on my PC, The car sold on Ebay a few months back, don't know who bought it, but they will have got a great car :) I contacted Stealth a while ago about doing this conversion for me but they said they no longer offered this conversion :( However, reckon the 245 + BHP I have right now is fine for the moment until I ge the last few bits and pieces for my G60, which sholud see a wee bit more power...., 8) Cheers, BigEastsideVWG60
  7. Seem to remember this car was recently for sale on Ebay? Don't have the link from when I posted up about it before :? BigEastsideVWG60
  8. Nope not AFAIK, I have seen these brakes on a S3 engined Mk2 and they went on no problem with 280 mm discs from the Corrado G60, Regards, BigEastsideVWG60
  9. I have looked into this in some detail and AFAIK, this conversion involves using the Audi S2 Girling G60 twin-pot calipers and carriers which will fit straight on existing G60 brakes and brake lines. It may be that you need to change the end fittings of G60 brake lines to fit directly to the caliper. I think VR6 stainless brake lines, a la Goodridge or similar as these are the same as for the Audi 5000T CS Quattro (or Audi 100C Quattro in Europe), which is what the original Girling G60 calipers were fitted to before the S2 Coupe models. This and some competence to fit and overhaul front brakes is all that is required! They will fit all stock 15" VW alloys and give a much improved braking feel and stopping power, I understand ! You may need to change to the bigger 23.81mm master cylinder off the Audi the callipers come from, otherwise you end up with a longer pedal travel because the 2-pot design takes a bit more fluid to operate. 10. Yeah right whatever Roddy...., It's great being a moderator isnt' it, editing posts and all...., It's none of your business how I treat my wheels, how do you know how often I clean my wheels, are you stalking me or something ?? That's because I don't have any decent pictures of them on my car, and you have no right to speculate in an open forum about what YOU think about the condition of my wheels, not exactly helpful or responsible is it ? Yes I am entitled to my own opinion especially when it's backed up by the fact that such a price is over-optimistic judging by book values, dealer values, Autotrader prices etc. Funny how he has dropped his price now too isn't it..,? TBH I'm not really interested in how much of a bargain you think you got when you bought the wheels for your BMW, this is totally different and your not rying to sell a set of wheels, despite some peoples best efforts..., Only in your opinion..., Maybe it's best this thread was returned to it's original subject as I am getting sick of the snide comments which are helping no-one, Regards BigEastsideVWG60
  11. Hmmn..., The only Audi to use 5 x 112 PCD is Audi 100 from 1990> and A4, A6, A8, S2, S4, S6 1996>. I wonder if they would fit onto a Corrado G60, anyone know? Also any ideas about where to get wheel centre bores slightly machined? Cheers, BigEastsideVWG60
  12. The ET of the ones I need machined is 38 and the ones that are 5 x 112 PCD is 23 or 25 can't remember Cheers BigEastsideVWG60
  13. Hey all, Does anyone know where I could get the centre bore of my alloys precision machined / engineered to increase it by 0.6 mm to fit my Corrado perfectly ? I have found a set of alloys that are originally (I think) Vauxhall fitment, which have a centre bore of 56.5mm, not 57.1mm which they are on VW's. Also, does anyone know if adapters can be used to fit wheels which are 5 x 112 PCD onto EITHER 4 or 5-stud VW hubs? Cheers, BigEastsideVWG60
  14. Actually Roddy, I think you'll find it was JimsG60 who mentioned Borbets first in this thread and not me......, But anyway, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however, personal comments in an open forum about the price of something a member is trying to sell does not really help. I don't think it really matters how many times the wheels have changed hands or how long I have had the wheels, what matters is how rare they are and the price I am selling them for now compared to buying them new....,I don't think this type of wheel depreciates in value that much over 6 months  And if you read it correctly, I am actually asking for £700 o.n.o, which means offers near that figure..., But again thanks for your valuable insight :D BigEastsideVWG60
  15. Sorry, But I don't have a spare £1000-£1500 to hunt for and buy a set of BBS RS 001 in the elusive 8 x 16" 4 X 100 PCD size...., Yeah thanks for input Roddy, as usual your correct :? AFAIK, this wasn't a thread about who likes Borbet's or who likes BBS splits :? BigEastsideVWG60
  16. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion I suppose......, I seem to have had more positive comments than negative it would appear though Cheers, BigEastsideVWG60
  17. Or Borbet B's, not made any more.... :( , Someone buy my wheels  Cheers BigEastsideVWG60
  18. Here's a pic of my exhaust tip, Also a company called Zaust is now doing custom-built full stainless sytems. They are based in Checkpoint, Aberdeen and the build quality and fitting is supposed to be even better than Powerflow. Also they are cheaper..., 8) Nice, BigEastsideVWG60
  19. Hey there, Richard Tweedle of All Smiles Automotive Technology now does carbon fibre bonnets for the Corrado. He can be reached on 07970 422 554 or mailto:[email protected]. They are quite expensive though between £600-700  Good luck, BigEastsideVWG60
  20. Hmmn. Why not just buy a guaranteed reconditioned 1800cc 16v engine from a good VW breakers? These can be had these days for £250-£350 including everything, Cheers, BigEastsideVWG60
  21. I reckon with averageish miles, standard car, due a charger rebuild now, that this G60 is worth £3500, also be interested to see how a J plate G60 can have the facelifted bits e.g. bonnet, interior heater control dials etc. The K plate G60 I broke a year ago had the facelifted parts and it was a late K plate. Maybe biggrims right, Karmann factory workers raiding parts bins, Cheers, BigEastsideVWG60

  23. Hey all, I spent a considerable amount of time at work today...,LOL 8) checking where I could get the cheapest tyres from. I have compiled a list of the best prices, but I was looking for some recommendations. I have a mate that will fit and balance them for me so that's not really an issue but wanted peoples opinions. Below is the list from five different suppliers and the prices are delivered and incl VAT. 24. Hey all, had a drive of a mate's GTi-6 at the weekend and it handles pretty well, but feels a tad underpowered and plasticky interior. And definetly no match for my G60, but then that's not surprising  Cheers, BigEastsideVWG60
