Is to the right of the inlet manifold below the distributor. I soaked mine in petrol for a while seemed to clean it out.

Anyone got a model no/part no for this replaceable dizzy seal? Been looking recently myself at a new distributor for my 16V, my hall sender is a bit loose, I have it fixed in tight with some clips but its not the most ideal set-up. Priced the hall sender from GSF and they are around £25-30 a new distributor costs around £65-70 + VAT Bosch ones are around £70-75 + VAT I heard there is some sealant you can get for the rocker cover also that can prevent such leaks out that side?

Yeah its to prevent someone stealing the car if they get the keys/alarm key. Makes sense to cut off the power to the fuel pump, been looking on vortex too long with - fuel line valve cut off and the likes .
-
Anyone fitted one of these on a 16V? What fuel line/lines are used? Is it a tricky job to do? I heard you can buy the kit for around £10-£20?

Your ISV valve might need a clean out, also might be worth replacing the temp sensor for the ISV. Check your air filter & intake also for any blocks/build-ups. When was the timing last done on your car?

You'll find most blokes will look at you funny if you ask for flange.

Its not making crazy noise just enough to echo through the head, I have a feeling the alternator belt is worn cus when I wet it there is little to no noise. It may seem a bit of a gamble but I haven’t replaced the chain, its not rattling nor are the tappets. I’m not going to have it ready for next Mondays track day but I may bring it out for display purposes ;)
-
Cheers for that Its the Alternator belt that’s making all the noise, the P/S was replaced not so long ago but Im thinking it has to come off in order to get at the Alternator belt on again.
-
So is that 3 belts I need: 1 Alternator belt 2 Fan belt 3 PAS belt
-
Ive replaced the timing belt on my 16V, what other belts are there? I know of a belt for the alternator is there a 2nd belt for the fan? Does this drive the power steering? Its a non AC 16V 1.8

Check that the down pipe beneath the air box is connected. I had the same problems a while ago my car wouldn’t start or run well after putting on a new manifold and I found the down pipe from the air box was not aligned/connected properly. Check your sensors also on the right side of the head you may have disconnected one of them when replacing the rocker cover which can cause this type of problem also. What yr is your 16V? I know late spec 16V corrado’s have a different bottom end to the 16V gti (besides mm size) might be worth comparing both bottom ends if you have them off again.

yeah I have 049 in my hand here its definitely a sensor and not a sender. Ill try it on the car at the weekend hopefully it has the same function. I’m still stumped as to what to do with the loose wire and plug :? Cheers for taking the time to help out anyhow.

Tell me abot it Olly ! Im just wondering if the part is updated with a sensor does the clip and wire (green+red) stay loose or will I cut them off?

Can someone please clarify an ETKA number for me: 049 919 501 It s a temperature SENDER for coolant temp gauge which controls the ISV. I have an early 16V and I need this part. Ive ordered it through 2 dealerships and got SENSORS both times! In the remarks colum in ETKA there is a second part number 027 919 501 this is the number that is on the broken park I need. I need urgent clarification on this if anyone can help me.

I like the S2000 its a good quality alternative to the boxster, however you might be able to get an S3 for the same money which id be more inclined to go for. Don't get me wrong the S2G is a better buy than a TT150/180 but Id still be inclined to go for an S3 over both the Honda and lotus.

Nice cage ! What’s the track scene like over on the west coast? Is there many meets/circuits? Is there a large corrado following over there?
-
Id be keen on the RS4 however shopping around for one is a lot of hassle and would involve serious scrutiny. An E46 M3 or 996 Boxster S would be solid alternatives but may attract the wrong sort of attention. A NOBLE M12 Gto would be a serious contender also what kind of money do they go for over in the UK? As a second car (which my C currently is) an Audi Quattro would be the best of the retro performers that can turn a few heads at the same time.

Just over at GSf and I don't think they do temp senders, they were asking for specific bar on each sensor. Im nearly sure its the ecu sensor I need but I don't have a model number for it. Might need to go direct to a dealer to get them.

Would pay good money for such a tool :)

I've a similar problem but the car locks itself when I turn the key to take it out of the door handle? I've always used the zapper for the alarm so I didn't notice the problem before but I disconnected the alarm recently doing engine work and its a pan in the ass every time I want to open the doors, will this problem be solved when I reactivate the alarm?
-
cheers a pic of the exact location would be helpful, I know the area your talking about I had an idea it went around there if I knew the exact location it would save me some time. The body's really tidy the engine bay up a lot :)
-
Makes sense cus the fan always cut off when I stopped the ignition. Where does the wire connect to? Does it bolt onto the manifold? Would I get those senders down the local GSF or do I have to go to a dealers for them?

Found this switch in the to do box at the weekend, Anyone know where it goes or what it does? I have a feeling it was bolted to the throttle body or inlet manifold. Im also looking for the names and part nos of these 3 switches on the cylinder head Ive labelled them 1 2 and 3 in the photos.
