Yes practise on the spare good idea ! Im sure someone on here would know what the holes are for.
-
Great hopefully it will work well , just got to think how the best way to cut it maybe a fine hacksaw. The only thing I noticed about the original seal it had some small holes on the seal like breather holes.

So the lower footwell A pillar trims with screw showing, I purchased off ebay some 8mm caps for a couple of quid. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142176790325 It another winner and very snug fit would not pop out unless you give it a good lever. You can still get the originl screws from Horton seat, I use these alot for hard to fine screws and bolts. I had two dash screws on the otherside of the footwell, its muscical screws after years of mechanics working on them. http://www.seatpartsshop.co.uk/product/SCREW_N-0139649

Anyone got the part number below it must be in working order , after one clip that includes both the button and square housing for button. Fuse box trim retaining clip Part number 191857971 Thanks in advance. Have some original hard to find brand new VW Corrado blue hose clamps, the two that sit on the hoses to throttle body and the one to the coolant reservoir if somone wants to swop. I imagine as these are the main clamps on show VW made an effort to make them in light blue. If you look closeley at your old clamps they are actually blue. P.s scirroco door card screw caps fit great so slowly winning.

It looks like it could be a hole for an immoboliser light prehaps. Ive never seen the gear box shifter pattern light up or is this aftermarket anyone ?

It is under the HT lead trim on the side of the engine , really is a 5 minute job to replace, make sure you get a VW cam sensor they are still available. Part number 021907601A This is the cheapest I could find and purchased a month back. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wheel-Speed-Sensor-Speedo-Impulse-Replacement-Spare-Part-VM-Part-021907601A/292799763784?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Ive never owned another car that recieves so many clangs from other drivers doors, I think other motorists just think its an old car and they just dont give a damn.

I have changed my power steering OE fluid and it didnt really make the steering less easy, getting all the supension done in a coule of weeks Ill let you know if it makes a difference. I reckon its just modern cars with electric steering racks just feel a lot lighter. Any ides when the fluid was last changed , it should be green the OE stuff and still available.

This sounds a great job fairplay. Like the sound of this nylon coating because I have heard before that normal powder coating isnt really great for subfrmanes as it can peel off in stripes.
-

As mentioned though prime supect is immoboliser.Could be many things his one Im afraid. When it cuts out are the elctrics still working in the car (power supply) ?

Hi, Have you changed any bulbs in the interior latley or anyhthing when the key has been in the ingnition. Get a torch and and look at the fuses and see if any are burnt out , if so that will be your problem as it happened to me. I would consider upgrading up to a Toad Ai606.

The metal surround frame around the x 2 radiator fans can get quite rusty and scabby looking.

Looked exstensivley for the door card screw head caps and are impossible to purchase new. However they are the same as the MK 2 scirocco and managed to get six black caps and screws second hand off ebay, part number 321867169B 01C (Saturn Black) , they actually insert into the screw so you must have the original screw part number N90 157 501 which are still available new. The A pillar screw caps are still available from VW Classics part 3578671694FB (Black)these might also fit the lower A pillar trim.£0.29 The B pillar screw caps are still available from VW classics part number 535867842A4FN (Black) £0.82 Ill speak to VW Heritage tomorrow and tell them to order a batch off VW classics Germany of the above available part nembers so they are ready available for sale in the UK.
