Yeah, it was Garlands rd I think that it got keyed on. Work has got a car park, but it's limited to 70 spaces for upper management so I've a few promotions yet... Quite annoyed as when I went for the interview they said yes there was a car park, but didn't mention there was 0% chance of getting a space there!! Was thinking about clubbing together with all the people who park down there and getting a van with a video camera in the back of it or something to park there and record for a few days... But it's not a regular thing so no doubt nothing would happen while we were recording it... Sods law...

Where I work, Redhill, there

Would VAG-Com be able to do it? Considering jumping on the group buy for it anyway. Would be useful to have...

I'm swapping over my clocks and am wondering if there's a way to bring the new clocks forward so the mileage remains consistant and doesn't drop by 50k or so. Figured that would probably look quite dodgy!! Is there a way to do this, kind of reverse clocking?? My current clocks don't have MFA2 and the spoiler doesn't work, so I'm guessing a loose earth I had a while back caused this as both issues started right after... Will see when the new ones go in whether or not it solves...

I've got one of those, but it wasn't based on the bootplan of my corrado, so there's bits it doesn't quite reach to... Looks ok, so long as you don't look too carefully, and there's usually too much junk on it to tell anyway...! Will take a photo of mine tonight...

Mine has the sunroof switch... I moved it there because holding my hand up in the air for the 8 seconds it took to wind the roof back was too much effort for me... I use the roof a lot more now the controls are right by my hand. Used a later model sunroof motor cover which has the switch in the lights so there's no hole in the trim...

Nice work... Was impressed when I sat in it a fair while back, I'd like to see what you've done since!! One thought though... Hard drives and hard suspension... they don't like being knocked, and if your suspension is solid what vibrational damping is there in the unit? As the arm is tracing across the disk surface a large bump (like the one that wrote off my front wheel this morning) could knacker the drive??

I have a feeling mine is metallic... Have some gloss black wing mirrors and the paint is just slightly different....

Hi, just a quick question about black paint. Would a J plate 16v have been painted the same colour black as a J plate G60, or is there a chance that it could have either of the two codes? Black A1 LO41 88 -95 or Brilliant Black Metallic R8 LA9V 91 -94 (95?) Have found a new door for mine, but the bloke doesn't know the paint code for it, and it's a long drive to find out it doesn't fit... Can find out my code at lunch if that helps... Cheers, Ant.

Was watching The Day After Tomorrow with the gf on Sunday so didn't see TG. Apparently it was a good one, so I want to watch the repeat... is it on tonight or tomorrow? Need to schedule my gym around it... (HDD freeview recorder on route to my house though, so this'll be the last problem of this sort!) (Did a search, but it wasn't conclusive...) Cheers!

Whats the worst thing youve done to ur corrado

That reminds me. Not the C but a Golf I had previously... My girlfriend went to a party (this was waaaay back when she was 17 and I was about 20) and the guy who's party it was was proper pestering her and trying it on and not letting her say no, so she rang me to pick her up. Was well fuming and needed a few people to keep me away from him when I got there. On leaving, with the extra 2 people in the back (her and her mate) the car was too low and I ended up scraping the exhaust on a rock so hard the thing came undone from the downpipe... Cue massive noise from under the car and the exhaust trying to wedge itself into the dirt. Had to leave the car sitting outside his house overnight until I could come back in the morning with tools to fix it. Total loss of face, was sooooo p155ed off it was unreal... Can look back and laugh though... -
I'm on around 187,000 New engine and clutch in there and the gearbox is sounding a little worn. Other than that it's a pleasure, had it right up in the redline the other day coming home late at night and it makes a splendid noise, even for a valver!

I think everyone has a mate called Dave... I think a good DJ name would be 'My Mate Dave' so you could say my mate Dave is playing or My mate Dave is on the flyer, and people would think you knew him...

Got stuck coming out of Cornwall after the eclipse a few years back. Took 5 hours just to get from Perranporth over the border into Devon... Then another 4 or so hours to get home to Surrey... Missed the eclipse too. Went to see my girlfriends Gran to watch it from there and it was cloudy, but apparently back in Perranporth it was clear and everyone for a really good view...

Have jsut replaced a leaky petrol hose on an L-reg Astra as it was leaking petrol everywhere. I know it's not a VW but the rubber will be the same age or newer than a lot of Corrado's out there. Might check the C's over as well now. Mine also has a tendancy to lock the doors, but it seems to be random (or not random really, it's when you have the car running, then kill the engine but leave the keys in the ignition, like if you jump out to check a wheel or something, and it actually deadlocks the doors. Luckily I've always been in the drivers seat when it's done it...)

Help! engine nearly cuts out when my lights are on!?
.A.N.T. replied to madmansi's topic in Engine Bay
Have mine in a little tupperware container with holes drilled in it for the wires. Not particularly pretty, but the ends haven't corroded in a year so it must be doing something right. -
I'd be up for a GB of the rears for sure...
-
You're starting to answer your own question there... I'd get the tracking looked at asap as not only are you lowering the mpg, you're wearing the tyres out too...
-
Cheers... It hasn't stopped raining since, so I've had no chance to try and polish it out but fingers crossed it will come out. I'd have loved to have caught them at it, but then it would be me up on a charge for assault and I'd still have to leave my car somewhere nearby as I need to get to work, and then worse would happen in 'revenge' for my little 'telling off'. Why do people have no respect. (but even today i can't believe I didn't see it sooner...)

My driveway is off an alleyway so it's quite secluded. Could maybe see it happening during term as it's a route quite a few kids take to the bus stop for school, but it's half term. Anyone know a company that could get rid of it in the Surrey area?? Chips away??

Hi all. When I have the headlights or sidelights on there is a slight buzzing/whining noise coming from the clocks. When you turn down the brightness of the lights on the clocks using the headlight switch rotory thing, then the volume of buzz goes down but turn the brighness up and it's back. Anyone had this before? I'm assuming it's got something to do with the bulbs/lighting circuit, but I've never taken the clocks out before... Any ideas???

Hello mate... Stumbled across this thread on the CF about the spoiler not working. Sounds about right for mine as it started playing up when the earth strap came loose from the engine bay. You're in redhill which is handy as I'm working there now!! Would you be able to sell me one of these diodes?? edit: meant to PM that...

Not happy... I knew it was only a matter of time before the little sh*ts who cannot accept that anyone should have anything nice did something to it. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth having a car that stands out from the rest. So now I'm in need of someone who could sort this out for me. It's not through to the metal, but it's showing grey/white primer so I probably can't polish it out. Thing is, I can't think where it would have happened. If it happened outside work (on a residential road) then I've got in the car 3 times in daylight since then and not noticed it. even when I moved my car this morning to let my brother out I didn't see it, but 25 mintues later as I left for work it was the first thing I saw when I shut the front door. Don't see how I'd have missed it 3 times... Oh well. More expense... :(

My windscreen is poorly sealed and it leaks from there. I thought I'd solved it with silicon sealant (not pretty, but it'll work till I can get it done properly) but it's still leaving from the front left of the car. One technique is to put tissue paper round where you suspect the leak to be, then get a hosepipe (or watering can) on it and then look and see where the tissue has got wet. Should help narrow it down. When the spoiler is up and the car is stationary it'll leak from there into the boot...
