I've had mine for ages and still haven't done that....
-
It was getting late and I was hungry... Was mainly leaves, no branches in there, and the font of my car is pretty fecked anyway!

No1. The leafplough. Using that 90mm splitter and ultralow ground clearance! Works in a similar way to a snowplough but for cuttings from the hedge last night. Saved on a lot of sweeping! Anyone else got any 'alternative' uses??
-
Mine hasn't got that.... (mind you, mine hasn't got a lot of bits!!!) Come to think of it, my mates (which we haven't yet taken to pieces) hasn't got one either....
-
Cool, hoped it would be that simple! Thanks!! :)

Basically, will the indicators and MFA stalks swap straight onto an older style dashboard or will I need to get new looms and stuff for it... Fancy a more modern interior without buying a whole new modern car!

Or oppositely it the middle of a summer heatwave and suddenly your feet are covered in boiling water from the heater matrix giving up... -
Will a computer need a steady constant feed of electricity. Can the battery and alternator supply it? A laptop would have the battery to fall back on so would have a constant supply. Also, when I start mine the stereo switches itself off and on again from the drain from the starter moter, would imagine a booting up PC would not like that! I keep thinking you'll run out of things to do to that car... Then I'm proved wrong!
-
Doesn't matter though as your car isn't fast enough to need brakes...... ;)
-
Thanks for the info... Will pass it on...
-
For the G60 brake conversion, do you need G60 calipers or will the 16v ones fit? I take it you'll need different mounting brackets for them to increase the diameter... Then it's just the 280mm disks & new pads...

Could anyone exlplain, just briefly, what an uprated ARB would do to the handling of my valver...? Cheers... :)

Use passat ones from the rear doors & delock it... (obviously you'd need to have an alarm with central locking first...)

this happened to me twice in a week. Had replaced the front tyres and not the rears so the back end had less tration. Swopped the wheels round and it didn't do it again. I now replace the rears and move the rear wheels to the front until they need replacing then swop them all around again... Another thought, if youi've only just lowered it - the brake bias valve? Car is lower so it thinks it's heavier so applies more braking force to the rear wheels...?

Was talking to a mate at work the other day and someone he knows has installed a train horn in his truck... These things are seriously loud, something like Krakatoa or simliar. That'd clear them out the way!! Has has to have a seperate battery and a compressor to run it as it's at 240v...!! On the subject though, I live next to a dual carridgeway and it has an acceleration lane out of my village onto it, and it really really really annoys me when there is only one car coming and it doesn't move out onto the outside lane to let you out forcing you to stop near the end of the accel. lane and wait till he's past... grrr........

Anyone going?? I am, I think Rick is, not sure about anyone else from Dorking...
-
Surely it's designed around having that weight there pushing down on the wheels. 50kg might make it quicker 0-60 in a straight line, but I quite like having the rear wheels firmly planted on the ground when I'm going round bends (at least on the road anyway...) A full fuel tank though must weight around 70kgs... Why not just drive around with no petrol in? Seems like a much easier option!!

Can you use a relay attached to the 'amp remote turn on' wire to power the playstation. then when you turn on the stereo it switches the playstation on, otherwise you'll need the ignition on all the time someone is playing which could get well annoying if you want to nip into the garage etc... What I mean is use a relay to turn on a big current from the battery when you turn on the stereo. using just the remote wire to power it will overload the stereo... -
Settle an argument please - Veyron ??

Can anyone remember how much air was being sucked in when travelling at full whack. Was something silly like 10,000 litres per minute or something... Must have a mighty special K&N in there!! -
For all those out there that have VAG discounts how did you manage to get it? Just from sheer number of parts you've bought, through a club gti discount for club members, you're part of a garage, you're all a group of masons??? Just wonder 'cos I want one!!!

Will give it a go then.... Cheers...

Went out to my car the other day in the work car park and there was a note on the windscreen... Hoping it was from the fit girl in finance, but it was second best... Someone saying they really liked my car and if I was ever thinking of selling it to give them first refusal!! Still have the note in my glovebox so if there's anyone in it when the car breaks down next I can show them that it actually is a desirable car!!

Yup, did this a few weekends ago... Need 10 washers just to space the front otherwise the leading edge of the sunroof sits a little proud of the rest of the roof, but other than that it just drops in and looks factory. (there's 4 bolts at the front that need 2 washers on each, and the 2 bolts on either side at the front need 1 washer each... Makes more sense once you've actually got the roof off and you're looking at it!) Hasn't leaked despite absolutely thundering down this morning. Very very pleased with it...

Have never liked rubbers... They dampen the sensation...

My spoiler has given up... Works manually but doesn't go up or down at any speed (up to 100mph, haven't tested above that recently!) It's not the blue/white wire as I've done nothing to the dashboard and it worked fine a while ago. Figure I might try a different control unit. Found one for sale, but it has a different part number. Mine is 535 919 845 A and the replacement I've got is 535 919 845 B Is there much difference between the two? There is between the years, the connections are all different, but I've sent photos and it looks right... Edit: Might be something to do with the resistor? Later models go up at 60 instead of 45? Any ideas? cheers...
