  1. Now you've given it a bit of a clean I think I'm more up for the swop you want to do with mine. Obviously I'll take a bit of cash as well as your car in exchange for mine, it'd be only fair... :-P Seriously, its looking really nice (I like the clouds shot you were talking about in the pub last night). Bit of a dilemma tho about the lowering. It needs it doing, but then again it's a Storm it pretty good nick so why change it? If the big breakfast was still going you could have done that thing where they decide for you. Number one or number two, I can't decide so it's up to you...
  2. Will be good when the show season starts... Big convoy!!! :D
  3. Down the pub on Friday and I bumped into some people I haven't seen for a while... They said they both had a Corrado, and one of their sisters did too, so that takes the count of Corrados living in Dorking (which is not a big town, 40,000 people I think) to 13!!! Saw another red one today I didn't recognise, so that may be 14!!! Mine, Ricks Storm, Marks 2, Rob's got one, Scott, Pete and Pete's sister have one each. Lee's got a red 16v, there's 2 at kwik fit. There are 2 more as well, but I can't think who ownes them... Any more????! (BTW, who had one first??? )
  4. Have had a few issues with the earth on the C last week, these have been sorted by tightening the bolt that holds the starter in (it had worked loose!) Anyway, it happened on the motorway and the symptoms were the indicator lights on the dash were flickering. Couldn't fix this out on the run so managed to get it home ok where it's been tighened and all sorted, but now this fuse keeps blowing. It's the one second in from the right, which controls Cig Lighter, Spoiler auto control and the memory for the dashboard so all the clocks reset to zero when the ignition is switched off.. Does anyone have any ideas on where to start with this as I don't fancy pulling out all the wires behined the dash to check... :(
  5. Nah, I'm not gunna be unreasonable about it. It's just its annoying that it'll be away for a few weeks as it's a fault with the unit. Just wondering on the money back thing really...
  6. This isn't technically an ICE issue, but it may cover ground useful to people with ICE problems... Basically what is the EU ruling on how long you can return an item for a full refund if it goes wrong? My mixer (home DJ - Denon DNX1500) has developed a crackle from all the deck inputs, only noticable at high volumes when there is no sound from the record (ie, turntable stopped needle in groove, loads of crackle through speakers) Have done various swopovers with my brothers stuff downstairs and it is def the mixer at fault. Just wondering how long I can take it back to the shop and say I want my money back as it's not working. They're fine about sending it back to Denon, but they said it'll take up to 3 weeks to get it back, then I have to stop by and pick it up again from the shop which is a fair way away from where I live... Oh the hassles life throws at you... Just thought this could be useful to anyone who has head units etc that die withing a couple of months... Oh yeah, bought it on the 9th of December, so it's under 2 months old.... Cheers!! :D
  7. Why do people reccomend the Alpine over the Pioneer?? I'm thinking of getting a sat-nav thing installed and really like Pioneer as a brand, have had their headunits and Alpine and rate the Pioneers higher. More 'customisability' of the sound... MIght be able to get an Alpine setup cheap secondhand though, so at the end of the day it might all come down to money!!
  8. FOUND THEM!!!!!! As a last resort I emptied the bin.......... There they were under 3 days worth of rotten food. Nice!! A quick clean and I'm no longer entering the car from the boot.... :):):)
  9. not 100% sure mate... I have a feeling it's a 50x. What are the differences between the two?? If push comes to shove I can take up the carpet etc and have a look tomorrow at the brain for it..... Cheers....
  10. Bloody nightmare!! Can't find my keys anywhere, suspect my 3 year old nephew or 'posting' them somewhere... :( I've got a spare key, but the blipper on it doesn't work with the alarm... Does anyone know how to add a key to the clifford?? I know the valet code, so can get in (through the boot, stylish!) and can get the alarm to disarm, but I'd like to be able to open the door from the outside!! Anyone have any ideas or links??? Cheers, Ant.
  11. Do In-Pro actually have a website?? I thought I saw one a few years ago, but I never saved the address... Could someone post a link? CHeers, Ant.
  12. thanks... would have missed that. So late balck surrounds and the glass, and from there on in, a straight swop? Been a while since I've taken a spanner to it. Quite looking forward to it!!!
  13. Cool, right, will give it a go then... Cheers!
  14. I read the 'how to' on this, so I assume they are a straight swop... What's the point though?? Need new glass so wondering whether to go for later glass... Any thoughts? Cheers, Ant.
  15. Have spoken to Yaash about them, and they should be covered, but it means taking them off the car and getting them to yaash, then they send them away and about 3-4 weeks later they arrive back from where I need to collect them... Might be easier to buy a new one, then when that's fitted get the other repaired under warranty and have it as a spare? If this happens 3 more times I could have a whole set. Depends on proce really, but I can't have the car off the road for a month...
  16. I take it you can buy the koni dampers seperately and replace each one individually?? Do they use the standard koni shocks in there??? Cheers, Ant. (and where would be the best (as in fastest and cheapest) place to get them from. Demon Tweeks want 123.28 but they've never been the cheapest...)
  17. Might try that anyway..... Need to get it through the MOT then I'll swop the oil over....
  18. Mine has just failed the MOT on a leaking suspension strut on the konigsports. Cool, an 8 week wait... (
  19. Been out in it for another drive round the village and it isn't doing it again, ie. it's going into gear fine now... So it's intermittant... When it first happened about a year ago (been sitting since then in the garage) the RAC guy said it might have been due to water getting into the clutch housing and then rusting the plates together. Wasn't sure about this but the fact it's now ok again leans towards this. Bit of a puzzle really....
  20. Hey all, been a while I know – been traveling, but I’ve now decided to get the Corrado back on the road. When I left (a year ago) it was having problems getting into gear, it’s still doing it… ( There’s pedal pressure on the clutch pedal, it’s not dropping to the floor which is what the VW garage guy said would happen if the master or slave cylinder had gone but it won’t go into gear. With the clutch fully down it just won’t clunk into any of the forward or reverse gears… Yesterday I took it out for a spin round the village (big grin!) and it changed gear fine, but then after stopping for a while and starting it again the problem reappeared… Someone on here suggested bleeding the system and seeing if that would make any difference. How do I bleed it???! I’ll give that a go and see if that cures anything. Then it’ll be time for the MOT (no doubt needing work to the rear handbrake as that’s needed each year!) then it’ll be back on the road again ) ) ) If anyone has any ideas, please share them!! (it’s a j plate 16v btw…) Thanks!! Ant.
  21. Hey, how´s it all going?? Got an issue with the Corrado... It´s having issues getting into gear. It seems that the clutch plate is sticking. If you switch off the engine, put it in 1st, dip the clutch then start it starts and moves, but then getting 2nd, 3rd etc is very difficult, having to wait for revs to match the gearbox speed then slotting it in... It feels like the clutch isn´t disengaging properly... Is this the gearbox on it´s way out?? I´ve replaced the clutch about a year ago and it hasn´t been driven hard since. RAC said it was more than likely just water in the clutch rusting the plates shut. Has anyone else had this happen??? Cheers.... Ant
  22. Yeah, exactly. But I'm off travelling soon so want to get rid of everything so I'm not forced into storing it... (also want a completely fresh new project for when I get back...)
  23. Hey. The moment has finally come when I need to sell my beloved car... I'm quite gutted about it, but I don't want it just sitting around gather dust (and looks from theiving pikeys) for a year while I'm off travelling... (I also want another project for when I get back!) Dunno what price to ask for it though. Quick spec list. j-plate. 180,000 miles. Recon 2l engine put in summer last year. vibratech front engine mount, new wishbones FK Konigsports 1/2 tint rear lights smoothed off rear 15" alloys with good tyres on. Nice ICE install which I recon would get £500 second hand. uprated headlight loom. eyebrow spoiler stealth shelf audioscape door pods delocked handles Is in very good condition throughout despite the mileage. Any ideas on a rough price for it? What would you be happy paying for it??? This is gunna be one of the hardest things I've done....
  24. Don't know if this has been posted before but it made me laugh... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 50311&rd=1

    Boot carpet....

I've lost my boot carpet... Don't ask how... (ok, I took it out to do a boot install, install took longer than I thought. Carpet got taken to garage instead of shed. Garage was cleared out by my brother. Carpet now somewhere at tip...) Are they available flat, or have all of them got the indent for the spare wheel? I've got a space saver in there now and an ice install that would probably foul the carpet... Stupid question, answer is almost def no. Would a MK2 golf carpet fit...? *curls up in embarressment at stupid question time....
